Frustrating market

Silent auctions often work the way you’re describing. Bit increments are set so you don’t get into a penny war with someone.

That being said… I only raise bids by a penny. LOL  :poop:

Sounds like a whole bunch of stress and not much fun having from what i see in this topic.

Here’s what i do and it’s really simple…and ive been doing it since ive been playing around 3 years or so.

Play PvP…get scrap…sell it for whatever it is at time. You just earned free gold which is a bonus on top of just having fun. Doesnt matter what price its at…you still earn.

Repeat and it will add up if u put the FUN time in. Use free gold to buy stuff for car.

Putting energy into complete game correctness is just not worth yours or anyone’s time. Its never gonna happen and you should just move on to something that you have more control over or care less about the outcome in.

I do hope you can find the FUN in the game though. Its my main motivation to play…ever do a deep dive into what yours is?

“It’s really fun when you make an offer and within 30 seconds someone has always raised it by 0.01 coin. You update your offer, someone already raised that by 0.01 coin.“

You realize the other guy is saying the same thing about you.

im assuming this wasnt meant for me? lol

1 month?

As long we play the game?

which game?
The stock market one or the reason we (some) are here?

I started building 6 months ago or so, i’m still at it, the motivation isn’t even there anymore, the need of new toys like @82888150 mentioned doesn’t work that way for me.
My initial intend was among other things to get a couple of Yokais , now? not so much.
The truth is
when i finish the current batch a few months from now, i will make around 20 k coins or there abouts.
without knowing in what to spend the coins on.
Initial i was thinking in Yokais, now, at mid process i’m thinking in getting some crossbows, i will be not surprised if at the end i end up with nothing or a thing not related

yep , 1 month , doesnt take long to craft blues if you do your dailies and the free packs give you the tools needed to start farming
mind you i said sledge wedge , growl , sledgehammers cooler and radiator , since you cant sell the free pack items might as well fuse the untradable modules and growl cabins

this may be unrelated to the market issue but working efficiently with what you have instead of setting goals for legendarys early on is gonna lead to success in the long run

What i remember of it (was a long time ago)
It took me a long time to get into blue territory.
In the beginning was tough going from the trucks to a more pleasing tier.
going pass the parts restrictions
going pass the fuel restrictions (80 fuel at the start) was like making hard raids.
Man, when i came back to this game 2 or 3 years ago i still had white wheels on my build (± 6 k ps).
At the beginning crafting blue parts were as difficult as crafting legendaries now where i’m at.
Guess, efficiency is not my middle name.

And i’m not used to this model, my all my gaming back ground was rewards in XP

And i still don’t get packs, i’m used to buy premium vehicles in which i did battles with, premium stuff to fight, not to sell. This for me it’s the equivalent of a huge culture shock .
I understand the appeal of having better guns or better armour or faster guns or better secondaries than the ones on the regular line.
I don’t understand the appeal of buying an unfit or inferior vehicle for combat, only to sell the parts for the coins.
Why should i buy crap if i can build a lot better than what i’m buying.
I prefer to buy BPs, it offers what i normally i’m after, but better , to do combat with.
Let me see, Guinding star BP + this one ((which i did not buy)
I have more armour, fused guns, fused cabs

i think the first time i played was like late 2020 maybe 30 matches total with a few friends on discord just taking a break from another game , never thought id come back , but just before 2.0 came out i decided to give it another shot , right away i realized this mentality of needign that next part was going to ruin the game by turning it into a job so i just kept running matches , as im running matches i see these dollar sign spinners and atms etc and i had to investigate … came across the free packs and it made the grind so much more enjoyable
i was already working on crafting a growl and had 2 from the free packs i think so that was my first fusion , it was meh but i felt cool ,then i fused the cooler and radiator , then 1 sledge at a time

i come from fallout 76 where it cost $13 a month just to score scrap so $10 for a BP or mini BP is nothing to me , $10 is a cheese burger meal lol , so ive bought all the BP i have been around for and those have helped add variety to my inventory , ive also bought a few packs but only on sale and what ive invested is a drop in the bucket compared to how i let 76 nickel and dime me
at 1 point i had 3 76 accounts 2 of which i was paying for fallout first but the 3rd was just a mule

that market was full of stuff you couldnt obtain without money and it wasnt even supposed to be there lol
i think im off on a tangent now so ill shut up with my unrelated babble

That’s what we call wisdom, my good man.

I’m more like a refugee, i came from a arcade type of game, tried the War Thunder version of it, didn’t adapted, and was told about this game through a friend of one of my colleagues at work, i’m the only left (they moved on to C.O.D.).
I always thought that monthly payed games were more “user friendly” than F2P games …but apparently not.
The benefits of buying a premium vehicle were more combat centric, some had other benefits like giving more credits and XP to unlock the other tier and buying hulls, a vehicle could have up to 3 different hulls but that was it.

That didn’t work for me.
selling raw materials .
I never sold my 15 k wires i got from the propeller event. I’m building with it.
In the long run you get more if you build and sell.
I stopped doing raids for plastic and copper and electronics for a while now.
i only do dailies (400 batches) and sometimes i do batteries (350 batches)
last time i picked up around 3k of plastics by the time they run out my reserves where back in the initial values and i picked up another 1.5 k plastics and 3k of copper to finish another 10 epic pieces .
I’m just waiting, idle for the new BP missions to get 100 coins to resume building.
Meanwhile the scrap is slowly growing.

Cheating players ruin many games. It very sad drawback for playing online games. They have no life so they rather make other players hate there pass time also.

These are the guys that don’t know how to flip the market. They have to spend to much time monitoring their bids because someone only has to jump a penny.

If I can’t jump the price a few coins and still make a profit then I’m not interested.

Jumping 1,2,3 or more coins on an item stops the penny guys. They don’t like to see the prices jump like that.

For me it don’t mater, if I make 1 coin, 10 coins, or 100 coins on a flip I just keep flipping and I’m not worried about a penny.

oppressor, collosas, maxwell radar. fused blue cooler. I was working on parts more focused on raids. since raids is where most of badges are.

Was trying to fill out inventory for PVP because of wires and batteries. And thus using the market to try and get the gear for PVP since my gear not great for PVP as of yet since missing key weapons that makes pvp easier to win.

like toreno cab. on hover cannons for long range accuracy. as sniper.

I was doing great on market right up to the market manipulation. I wouldn’t have 2 goblins ,impulse, 2 hovers, lance, 3rd sinus-o, huginn cab. 13 blue parts in market to be sold. or can use if NOT sold. really need shiver or rn seal. to have triple sinus-o to shine OH and toreno cab for the sinus o. to help with the max range accuracy which can only get via market. .

Your inventory sounds like it’s all over the place and missing things you need. No wonder you are frustrated.
Do you like playing raids? If not, the badges aren’t worth it. You’re not going to improve your game much playing raids, and it gives you weird ideas about balance.
You really should be focussing on doing the scrap, wires, and battery challenges, alongside the daily challenges.
There’s no reason you can’t put together a cannon/shotgun/machine gun roster at a high enough PS for batteries.

they nerfed the payout considerably since I started. and its no fun on console where your forced to fight preselect groups constantly.

to counter the preselect you really don’t have a choice about playing market if want to progress in any reasonable time frame since losses is big hit on resources.

believe me I started out doing exactly what you suggested. but wasn’t getting anywhere that way. and others that started at about he same time had far more gear to choose from than I did. Why?

playing the market. is how they had the choices and their performance in matches improved as they got better gear because it took less effort to win.

I have noticed that as well where with the right gear it became easier to grind.

the devs specifically stated the market is there because they realized there was too great of imbalance between grinders and p2w players. and the only way for grinders to get certain parts is to buy it from market from a p2w player. or other player who bought it from a p2w player.

I don’t see being infant clubbed by preselect meta group as being fun. especially losing every single match against them after killing several the first match or two and then they target me to kill first as soon as they see me.

So I play the market to help me get the gear that will allow me to kill them even faster to give them less time to gank me as a coordinated group. there is NOTHING more satisfying to beat preselect metas who think they can push everyone around for their free fuel .

The balance of this game is appalling. Respectively, all games from GJ are appallingly balanced for the purpose of squeezing and frustrating the player.

I rarely face squads on PC or XBox. (and yep, been playing on both lately).

I do seem to be an anomoly.

As for market controls, on PC specifically there were problems with… well stuff. So they added market controls.

Unless you played the exact same time amounts down to the second this is not a real world comparison.

There could also be a skill difference. I am not trying to put you down, only stating factors other than the market that could affect outcomes of games, or effort put forth.

My advice, take some time and decide on a specific build, start with the basics of the build, epic rad, epic shiv, BLUE weapons. (obviously if you have better in your inventory, move on up). The biggest key is building an efficient build. Don’t overbuild to play higher.

Take some time off also. If you aren’t enjoying playing, don’t. It won’t suddenly become fun. Give it a bit of time.

And lastly: Life is hard, but unfair.

skills are not the issue

devs admit their packs are intended to give unfair advantage over piers. minus word “unfair” since its marketing.

IF I had the same gear know as fact i would give them strong run for their money. where their winning is NOT a sure thing.

they even admit the game is TOO unbalanced without the market to transfer pack parts to those who won’t pay.
IF it was a skill issue I sure as hell wouldn’t play a lopsided-unbalanced game as this. ESPECIALLY NOT AT THE DISADVANTAGED.
