Rough Monkey’s take vs. Everyone else…
Well almost everyone in the forum and Reddit, anyhow.
I like Monkey. He’s smart.
Here’s where I think the disconnect is:
He has an active clan. As soon as the new system dropped, he’s progressing without really having to change or do anything.
Those of us who either aren’t in a clan or have a defunct clan like myself realize that in order to progress at all, we have to put in work to even begin progressing.
The first part of that is either building a clan or joining one. That in itself is a gamble, because there’s no way to know - maybe for weeks - if the people we’re joining will carry their weight.
Then, even if all that happens, it certainly doesn’t look like we’ll get the same rewards. Even if we do, my ability to do that IS OUT OF MY CONTROL.
I’m simply not interested.
The game is broken for me.
The hatred spilling forth isn’t because we don’t understand the new system. It’s because we understand the system is is a middle finger to anyone who plays solo. It breaks the game I play.
This is no longer a game I play for my enjoyment and leisure.
This is a game we play for some sort of mutual progression.
It’s suddenly a very different animal.
Whether I can progress or not, in order to do that, I have to hitch my wagon to a couple of dozen other people who will be depending on me to carry my load of the work.
WORK.
There’s an obligation there.
This breaks the game on so many levels, I’m not attempting to continue.
If you can’t see how the game is broken for solo players, I don’t know what else to say.
I hope the game survives for the sake of people who do enjoy it.
I’ll log on here to see of they fix it, but my confidence is low.
Meanwhile, I’m shopping for a replacement.

You can tell the difference between the people that literally took like 5min to figure it out and the people that didn’t even log into the game.

'xcept some of us were explaining the update to people before today, and were right. And we’re still unhappy (^%
Note that this change actually affects me very little, since I have a semi-active clan and was barely getting more than batts and CW badges since half a year. I’ll probably gain more badges now
