idk,i would think it would, because there needs to be a grace period or players would just jump around to diff clans and bands on the the fly.
Before you start a Clan/Band, and at this point there doesnāt seem to be a clear disambiguation, at least in terminology, it is here:
ā¦and the inner menu looks like this:
After youāve created a Clan/Band, that inner menu will then look like this:
I donāt see any mention of bands there, just clans.
Shouldnāt there be something separate? Doesnāt it cost less to start a band?
Maybe the bands start with the new challenges tomorrow night since the new challenges & bands are interdependent.
There is no disambiguation in the current terminology. I think itās a bug. Russian English? IDK.
Yes. If you look, you will see the cost is only 2oo scrap. It gives you a four-man roster, which they call a āclanā on this stupid menu, but I think they mean āband,ā because thatās what I got when I did it. It cost 2oo scrap, and I got a āclanā (band) that allows for a group of four, and doesnāt get a clan abbreviation that rides your in-game moniker.
Itās like a limited access clan.
I presume they will issue a patch that fixes the bad lingoā¦I hope.
Hell, I could be wrong, and I started an actual clan for 2oo scrap. IDK, but I think itās just bad Englishā¦and a generally stupid idea, but I hear thatās a different thread
āBandā
Players have the opportunity to organize their own clans up to 4 players (hereinafter ā āBandā). The ability is available from reputation level 5 with the Engineers faction.
A band is created for 200 pts. of scrap metal and later can be expanded to a usual clan of 20 players for the standard 500 in-game coins.
All already existing clans for 20 people will remain as they are.
The band doesnāt have its own tag before the nicknames of its members.
Bands allow players who havenāt previously participated in clan battles to gain the necessary experience without a high entry threshold (both in terms of the cost of forming a clan and assembling an armoured car, and in terms of game skill requirements).
Now everyone can form their own small communities for mutual development and assistance.
Membership in a band (or clan) grants access to clan challenges (for more details, blah, blah, blahā¦).
Thank you for researching all that & making it easy.
Iām either too lazy or donāt care enough.
Iāll probably start inviting people to my poop clan so we can maybe knock out challenges together.
You rock, doc.
Thanks doc!
Guess Iāll make myself a band!
FWIW, after a match tonight, I got one of those little pop ups about challenges showing something like ā0/40 clan challenge victories.ā
Soā¦ Thereās that.
I hope these are IN ADDITION, but in substitution to what we have now.
waitā¦ what mode?? and its soloable?? im not seeing anything called āArenaā or anything similar to that in the clan tab. do you mean confrontation or something? or is this a brawl i dont know about?
Bands are basically limited clans - You can do all the same things except high PS CWs.
Iām going to assume that the word āClanā in every case (except when it comes to CWs) can be replaced with āBandā
Iām sure in the UI they didnāt want to write Clan/Band
Iām not sure on that, it might be less in total.
If it is less in total Iām going to assume that they took into account of how more people will be able to complete all challenges.
āIfā it is less - then for the guys that used to be able to complete all challenges it might work out that they make less in total - BUT I āneverā complete my challenges.
Iām going to also assume that on average this system will net more resources per player on average then the old system did even if it is less. This will cause a price drop because more items and resources will be built.
I understand that people will only look at themselves and not the full picture. The dudes that have time to grind all the quests might be pissed a little BUT everyone else will now have the option to make more and do less.
So if my understanding of the system is correct - people like me that donāt finish all weeklies/daylies will benefit more.
You canāt just make a new system that floods resources into the market without major consequences. It had to be done in a balanced way to keep the flow about the same.
The people that had enough time to complete all this stuff themselves might be a little vocal about it, but over all this system āshouldā benefit more then it hurts.
I did take a little time to go over to Reddit and read a little. For every complaint thread you have 10 more threads of people playing and enjoying the game.
Sometimes I think back to how the game was when I started playing, and Iām amazed at how much it has grown and improved.
Remember āget the machine gunā
missions? Or when sparkvesters were dominating low PS? Or the grenadier apocalypse? Remember when BPs didnāt exist, and the only way to accelerate your grind was to buy high priced packs?
Yes, most Crossout updates are two steps forward and one step back, but that still means itās been a steady improvement of the experience.
Since I made it through the really rough earlier days of the game, Iām definitely not quitting now that so many annoying things have been fixed.
The whole community is burning the official Reddit down because this update sucks
Monkey: āNice update ā
I see what you did there (^:
This is absolutely untrue IMO. Weāre not going anywhere, meta was hovers vs dogs when I started, itās now hovers vs dogs, 5 years later. They take away permastun typhoon, they give overbuffed Punis instead. Thatās how itās always been with XO. If itās poorly balanced one way and an update tips it the other way, itās still unbalanced.
Then when it comes to the grind and the player experience, nobody can tell me itās been 2 steps forward and one step back. No more f2p updates. No more Knight riders/Ravens. No more permanent workbenches on BPs. No more workpieces on BP. 80% of the content of BPs has been replaced by crap stabilizers, random loot crates and shit like that. We get 1.5 balance update/year, and 15+ pieces of trash premium content. Nowadays you canāt even craft shit because you need a bunch of items or ressources that canāt even be produced by anyone. Now theyāre forcing you into clans with minimum activity requirement inorder to get anything.
This game turned into greedy corporate garbage, donāt cover your ears and eyes out of some misplaced nostalgia and affection. I love this game too, thatās why Iām sad that itās been turned into a pile of trash.
Sometimes I feel like weāre playing completely different games.
You really think the game is in worse shape than it was five years ago? I do not see that at all.
Eh. I think I will set my clan on xbox to open.
Are you telling me devs did not remove new f2p items, permanent blueprints, workpieces, regular balance patchs, that they did not discontinue support to PvE ? Because that is the game I play. Itās called Crossout.
This game is the worst game of 2023.
