They were only op when compared to ml 200 but that is it but against everything else no, I always thought bigrams were underpowered and ml 200 was even worst.
Edit: I am gonna reword that. I think bigrams were ahead compared to parts like omnis, tracks and meat grinders but were slightly behind hovers and wheels pre 2.0 in terms of overpoweredness. Now I think they are down to the level of tracks while hovers got shot up to the stratosphere. So if I had to compare it to hovers it was slightly behind hovers pre 2.0 but was no big deal but now it is way behind hovers while the rest of movement parts went down the totem pole. I think all movement parts besides hovers could use a huge buff anyways from a rework of controllability, physics everything you name it. Even tho bigrams was like the 3rd meta pre 2.0(behind hovers, wheels) they were still hard and wonky to use and since 2.0 they are even more slower and wonkier.
Basically pre 2.0 hovers were the meta, wheels were the 2nd meta, bigrams were the 3rd meta with just about everything else being tied and close to equal. Now hovers are the super super meta which did not exist before 2.0 with everything else now being tied and equal bigrams included. In a way the game is more balanced than before 2.0 with the exception of hovers and in my opinion I think it is going to take a megaton of nerfs to hovers to even balance them out because they are just that op in itās current state.
Even today I was looking at two similar builds in use during battles (6 omni wheels, purple guns, relatively high ps due to wheels for the guns themselves to be in), one that used Impulses and one that used Thunderbolts.
One of those builds was fairly good, the splash damage took care of any accuracy problems, giving way more leeway to move around rather than do any precise shooting that might leave you open, and did very good even at a medium range. Up closer it stripped parts off with quick succession and in general you just needed to shoot at the general enemy rather than any specific part for the enemy to be blasted to bits and get chunks blown off of it.
The other was a grenade launcher and sucked in comparison
Well basically 3 medians and 2 astraeus have the same survivability (one has bad hp, one hurts the parts itās attached to, both get destroyed at close range either way) but on a triple Median you donāt need to charge your shots, which on the astraeus can lead to annoying misses, especially on very mobile and small targets, so basically 90% of all builds you see these days. While 2 charged shots from astra pack more of a punch than a three median shot, you fire at a faster pace with 3 medians than with 2 astra, coupled with being able to shoot instantly rather than charging, so the overall rate at which you do anything with the guns ends up being around the same but with Medians being generally easier and more reliable to use
imo the game is far to pvp focused. the only thing thats remotely pve related is patrol vs ai and raids. i wish theyd take some time away from pvp, weapons, armors , etc and focus more on new modes that we would enjoy. theres literally nothing to do in here. adventure is dead and the only thing its good for is an extra 150 badges, brawls are repetitive and i never do them because i cant be bothered with it, invasion against leviathans is practically dead and i never do it, battle royale is yet another pvp mode that doesnt interest me, raids are decent and i like doing them to kill some time and patrol vs ai is the only thing i really do for dailies.
its the same exact stuff every single day and im rather bored of it. come in, do the dailies, a few raids till my fuels run out, log out then come back tomorrow, rinse and repeat. i just wish there was more to the game.
shotguns have always been broken honestly, the fact you can close in on your target so fast and just strip their guns so quick is absurdly overpowered. the nerf to shotguns didnt really do much.
and by the community to. theres certain weapons you cant even run anymore without being instantly targeted. i remember i tried running quasars and the instant a shotgunner seen me he immediately came after me. you just cant run certain weapons anymore without being instantly targeted and this is where the game loses the charm for me cause so many weapons are tossed aside to rot due to the brokenness of other weapons in the game.
the omamori is the damage absorber right? i find the omamori to be a bit op myself. i dont like the idea of a module that absorbs damage giving weapons a higher durability. it would be helpful for weapons UNDER a certain thresh hold like the omamori only working with weapons that has its durability and lower (300 durability and lower) but idk.
as for the catalina yes this cabin is seriously broken, it says it raided the damage output at a full charge by 80% but this is misleading, it raises it a bit more then that. i actually did calculate it.
i did this from the damage calculator item in your garage.
volley from 0 charges damage: 1397
volley from full charge damage: 2525
so an 80% damage increase is 1397 x 0.80 = 1117.6 = 1397 + 1117.6 = 2514.6
this had 1 charge on it from overheating so lets do another.
0 charges damage from a full volley: 984
full charge damage from a full volley: 1836
an 80% damage increase calculation is as follows 984 x 0.80 = 787.2 = 984 + 787.2 = 1771.2
so yeah the calculations a bit off there.
Iāve never found the game easier to not play, myself. I still try, because I used to have tons of fun. I keep thinking Iāll have fun, but 20 minutes in, Iām sick of it.
I find the build feature is mesmerizing, but the actual game play is inconsistent, and is as often a bad experience, as it is a good one. Itās hard for me to recommend this game to anyone. Itās probably like being married to somebody who is bi-polarā¦but really hot.
i agree with you 100%. i love crossout and its one of the few games i come across that i say i really enjoy. cause i love the build feature and making my own car to fight with. i love going into raids and just having fun, blowing up cars and getting rewards at the end. its just a shame there isnt much more to this game. i really want there to be more to it.
agreed, i just really want more to be added to the game. i want more fun and creativity in here. the game is so heavily focused on pvp which is really bad. i gave up on pvp cause its so repetitive to me. people just running the same uninspired āhold r2 till you dieā kind of builds or the infamous shotgun builds. theres very few weapons you can run in here anymore without being instantly targeted and stripped of your weapons before you can do anything. some weapons are useless. i just wish the game had more to work with in terms of pve and whatnot.
also also the prices of gas for raids have skyrocketed as well. seriously it used to be like 10 - 12 for 100 gas now its almost 20.
i just looked on the market and idk what the flying crap is going on but im seeing 100 fuel being selled for 89, 99 and 100 coin. what the actual (insert enemy exploding sound effect here) is this?
im even seeing offers going for 23 coins as wellā¦ WHAT!?
idk why fuel prices are so ridiculously high!
DPS is way to high in general. Games are either sit 4 minutes and everything is settled in the last minute, or an initial rush then chase 1 guy for 4 minutes who doesnāt have weapons because he wants to waste everyoneās time.
I will say hovers are too hard to shoot off compared to other movement parts barring track/omni/auger.
Laser Drills remain WAY to strong. +800% dmg should be more like +300%. 3k Durability builds can die to these just as fast as an 1100 dura build. Broken.
In general Melee is weak (blues are in an ok place, the rest need work badly). Parts meant to ram people fall off if you ram people. WTF?!
Squads are broken, when a squad is using all upgraded FOTM builds, it breaks the whole bracket. The normal trade off is when you are on their team you win right? wrong, you only get minimal reward for your time vs playing.
I tested this over 2 weeks. By just leaving the game every time I saw the squad, regardless if on their team or opposing team, I ended up with 2k more scrap. This is a broken system. Do I want Squads removed? No! Do I have any kind of answer? nope.
Raids SUCK. Not only do you not get decent rewards from some, they made repetitive PVE harder for what reason? They are boring and suck still. They just suck more than they used to.
I build for an hourā¦ play 2 games and log off. Not exactly as simplistic as that but my basic play rotation.
And I do the dailies of course. Have builds saved for that though. And they arenāt āfunā.
This is because of real life resources m8. PVE content is generally only played through once by the majority of player bases. That means they have to put dev money mostly toward PVP that the majority of players will play repetitively.
I have been playing since day one and just did the awakening story mode a few months ago.
I only did it to help some new guys, and it was awful.
Most people donāt realize they should be happy they have the glass.
according to who? xD
i play through raids every day that i can. i can understand if your referring to adventure but thats only because theres no new content for it and they dropped it immediately. so dont come in here with your āpve content is only played once by the majority of the player baseā cause your wrong. people do raids and patrol vs ai for dailies and to get some raids done for badges and resources so idk where your getting your statement from.
so what does real life have to do with a mode / new content in a game? i dont follow.
recoil damage. think about it its like real life. slap a few of those on your car and start ramming other vehicles with it, itll fall off eventually due to damaging the part. not to mention its crossout, parts are welded onto your vehicle but not very well. so eventually theyll fall off after enough hits. even melee weapons like harvesters take ram damage to. it would be alot more broken if they didnt damage themselves and stayed on.
i can see why you said your previous statement above. but just because you hate raids doesnt mean others do. but you do make a good point. some raids give good rewards and some give awful rewards.
as for making the pve harderā¦ try a hard raid with lunatics, it is brutally unfair when you fight the boss. if you do not kill the boss before he closes the distance he will kill you in 2 shots. all it takes is around 2 - 3 shots for the boss to kill me. 1 shot takes off 1 or both of my train plows, 2 shots takes out the second one if its left, third one shots me doing over 1k damage per volley. i should also mention that the lunatic boss uses all shotguns. and what makes this more unfair is that i was fighting the boss before with 2 breakers and 1ā¦ i think it was a mace left on him. well he shot off my 2 plows in 3 shots and 2 shot meā¦ now THATS unfair. the lunatic boss needs to be rebalanced cause even my team mates who are heavily armored stand no chance against him. if he closes the distance he will 3 shot them most of the time. his damage output is just absurd.
i also commented above to that raids now cost ALOT to enter now. gas prices have gone so high its not even profitable anymore. fuel used to be 10 - 12 coins per 100 and now they gone up to 20+ per 100.
i just looked and its 33 per 100. this is just ridiculous!
awakening is only really good for the extra 150 badges honestly. the 150 badges are easy it just takes a bit of time doing it solo. its better to do it with others or have a small group to do it with every week.
Game Developers for the last 20 years. Pretty well known fact in the industry.
Do you consider raids new content? I mean we are doing the same raids for how long now??
It costs real life money to pay that real life developer for his real life time to make something. It is more cost effective to make a PVP scenario than a PVE scenario in the real world. Players (again in general, remember, median means there are 10% outliers on both ends of the spectrum) will replay PVP scenarios thousands of times vs 1 time for pve. Makes more sense to develop new stuff intended for PVP fiscally.
Donāt place statements I did not make. I did not say I donāt like raids. I evaluated the current state of raids as asked. I did not express whether I love, hate, like or dislike raids themselves. I happen to love the idea of raids, most of the implementation etc. However, PVE is casual and not competitive.
Dialing up the difficulty for no real benefit doesnāt add to the āfunā for me. PVE is where my legendaries should always feel legendary regardless of the foe.
That is some cheap gas. We havenāt payed that since around 2003 or so. We pay one penny per liter (5 liters to a gallon) so roughly 5 cents a gallon less than Canada. Border town. Of note though, when prices went up this year everywhere else in the US, they stayed the same here. (its over 5 a gallon)
I canāt imagine buying fuel. I never go through my free fuel. I just do the three raids to clear the dailies, and then go back to PVP.
But if fuel prices are that high on PS4, Iām gonna start farming fuel to sell.
i use 2 porcs and 2 arbiters in raids and my porcs can sometimes 1 shot enemies regardless on how powerful they are. if they are lunatics then it just obliterates their buildsā¦ assuming i can hit themā¦
ive used retchers in raids but i dont like how powerful they are, they just decimate everything. if you get a retcher rain on a boss well bye bye boss. like yeah i get it retchers are supposed to be strong but they can out damage porcs and arbiters, there were plenty of times my 2 porcs and arbiters lost to retchers due to the time it takes to kill something.
on that note im awful with retchers, i couldnt hit the broad side of a barn door with them. but if you get a good player who knows how to run them then theyll out damage you every time.
i beg to differ. you have no idea how many porc builds i come across who just blaze through everything to try to get the raids done as fast as possible so they can hog all the points and resources. not to mention they are running 4 - 5 porcs on their build. they literally just run through throwing tons of porcs and hogging all the points. i use 2 porcs and even thats enough for me. 2 porcs do the job they are supposed to do. but 4 or 5 of them? now thats just overkill.
i agree with this. its why i want more pve modes, to have fun and use more of my weapons that i have collecting dust. like why dont they have themed raids where you can only bring in machine guns or drones or anything of the sort to mix it up? you know just to make it interesting.
LOL nice one xD
i used to have 20k fuel at one point. i did pvp quite alot and used the fuel on profitable raids like plastic. nowadays its hard to get fuel on the market due to the outrageous prices.
Noble answereÄ most of the questions, so I dont have to address much.
I dont mean this in a demeaning way, and I think you will agree because you have stated it before yourself, but you dont play the game competitively. MLs have gotten an obvious buff in speed. They tweaked legs climbing and they dont get pushed. Those are good things. The biggest problem is they can no longer rotate fast and smooth enough to track faster, horizontal movements.
Because you typically dont use meta style builds, that can mean less to you. Your guns typically arent as well protected, so gun rotation can help mitigate the problemā¦but in a more competitive setting, your guns would be stripped quickly by punnys, destructors, scorps, etc. Competitive players MUST better protect their guns, resulting in small shooting angles.
Regarding hovers, they were nerfed multiple times after the big change. Their fly height was lowered and their tonnage taxed heavily. That has helped ābalanceā but they still are the most popular competitive movement part.
Before 2.0, we had pretty good balanceā¦at least on playstation. We had hover teams, spider teams, and dog teams. I finally enjoy playing hovers, with the dumbed down controls, but I am saddened by how legs and wheels feel now, compared to before. I went from never hovers to almost exclusively hovers.
Well, the two spiders I currently have in rotation are a dual executioner/king/hadron build, and a quad vindicator/machinist build. Iām not saying either are meta builds or particularly competitive, but my guns are fixed angle and boxed in. Iāve had to adjust my play style on these types of builds, but the combo of the new controls and the buffs weāve mentioned has more than compensated any power drain increase. Did ML200s get the same power drain nerf that bigrams did?
All I know is that Iām enjoying playing legs more than I did before.
Edit: Iām also really enjoying playing hovers, after never really clicking with them before. Iām not hating my wheeled builds, but Iāve been distracted by legs, augers, omnis, and hovers.
As far as wheels go, I will admit that I sometimes struggle with the new physics, but once Iāve played a car for a while and get in the zone, I like how it feels. For me itās just a matter of getting used to the traction differences of the various surfaces, and figuring out how to keep control on them.
They did get the same 5% increase in power drain just like bigrams did.
Here is what the devs stated a while back
Devs knew it would be harder to climb obstacles before the update and with so many hilly maps in the game makes them very hard to use and the landscape donāt have to be very steep to feel itās effects. You turn slower, climb slower and your slower facing enemies. I know for me personally when something is either too slow or too fast it makes it difficult to use. It is like how my aim and accuracy improves when I increase the sensitivity on my controller. Even when I play guitar if I play a song slow enough I might start making mistakes you know something along the lines of that. The new changes make weapons like porcupines insanely hard to use because you cant find tune the aim at all because it is essentially locked to how fast and smooth you can turn your build.
Devs also seem to be trying to downplay the severity of it in the description. They didnāt mention increase power drain which will make it harder to get in and out of cover, get away from enemies, dodging fire etc. The increase power drain affects a lot more to the gameplay then just making it harder to climb over obstacles. They specifically said āharderā too so they knew legs would be harder to use while making hovers easier to use, total utter nonsense from the devs as usual lol.
