Comment: The change is intended to reduce the excessive efficiency of vehicles with hovers at high PS. Now, one has to find a compromise - either install more hovers, reducing maneuverability, or remove some armor, reducing survivability
They have already reduced in the last update durability and tonnage and here it goes again.
Not like hovers have always been glass cannons with unmatched maneuverability that give em an unfair advantage amongst other builds, so yes same old history, let’s see how much of a “nerf” it really is
I’m going to need I need 9 blue hovers + a cheetah engine to max out the tonnage on my photon cab now O_O
honestly, I hate them just reducing tonnage to change “acceleration ratio” they are changing the wrong thing, they should change tonnage to adjust how many hovers you NEED to use, they should change the power drain to change the acceleration, I would prefer if they could still carry 900 mass but just have a higher power drain, this means I don’t have to rebuild my damn build every bloody time they want to change how fast your vehicle accelerates
I agree, but why change the tonnage, increase the the power drain, sure, but why force me to put more hovers on my build agh, I feel like hovers shouldn’t be worse them a hermit steering in terms of how many you need, sure give them as much or as little power drain as they need to be balanced but I don’t want to rebuild my builds every time the devs want to “change my acceleration”, the big changes ok I get it, I’m happy to rebuild stuff when they ant to change hitboxes, or make them super wobbly etc, no issues there, but just to change my acceleration? am i missing something here? do the devs want us to have to run more hovers? do they want them to make them more redundant or something? do they want us to just, buy more hovers and spend more money? welp, guess I’m off to buy like 8 more hovers and fuse them in the next event so i can have 12 blue hovers laying around in my garage cus that seem like how many I’m going to need in the future
Yet another nerf to hovers after making them nearly unuseable with their inability to be stable (sorta the opposite of what a hover is supposed to be). Now they are nerfing them further. Congratulations Devs! You’ve nearly made hovers obsolete!
calling in now, new meta stepper spider locust/ cricket hovers in next update, cabin has 7600 tonnage, and a bunch of power, meaning you need less hovers to run an armored build + crickets and locust are good on hovers, it was me I said it first, remember me in 2 months when these things are running around everywhere in CW
max speed will be 88 with cheetah but shrugs fusions and phobos will get it closer to 95km of the hovers
like lets math’s this out, new steppie will be 14500 mass, and have 7600 tonnage + cheetah that is essentially
15500 mass and 10600 tonnage right? meaning your hovers only need to carry 4900 mass if you want to max out your weight limit
new hovers will be 700 which is about 7 hovers, you could easily cut back on the amount of hovers you have if you want for faster acceleration and still have a bunch of armor cus you get so much tonnage from the cab + engine, this is more tonnage then any heavy cabin can produce when considering energy cost they cap out at 10000 without a cheetah, the stepper will be a much lighter cab then any of the heavy ones, you get a free cheetah perk for cloak and it will be faster then any heavy cab, idk about all you but, I feel like I’m going to be building myself some stepper hovers
I don’t disagree that CW is completely different from PVP, but I am still not convinced that balance decisions should always be made around CW performance.
The 4v4 format of CW completely changes the dynamics, and makes some types of builds and strategies much more effective than they are in PVP, and vice versa.
And besides, most players don’t play CW, so shouldn’t balance decisions be based more on how the majority experience the game?
I’m going to agree, but CW players are a good indicator of what is broken/op in the game. They are going to use the best of the best of the best.
Before the patch (on Xbox) you had hover builds, rush builds, big ram builds, cannons, porcs, shotguns, scorps, you name it and someone was playing it.
After the patch if your not on hovers pretty much forget being in a top clan.
So yes, you are right, the game should not be balanced around CWs alone, but the average non-CW player can not get new gear fast enough to change on the drop of a dime like CW guys do. So they only feel the shifts in the meta when it is already to late and everyone is running around on the same thing in PvP.
You can feel those shifts in CWs immediately.
This is not a “CW players are better so they know more” kind of thing. This is a “CW players love to exploit the most OP items” kind of thing.
