Oh please… it’s a video game, and this isn’t even a relatively “important” part of the game.
Virtually every match I play in the event, I’m either MVP or top 3.
I’m not playing the game for you or anyone else - especially in any stupid event. The ONLY time I feel any obligation to the team is in PVP (I don’t do clans). If I have a half hour a day to play, and I’m trying to get the 9 brawls wins this week, or a special container from an event, I’m not waiting another 3 minutes so I can be “carried by my team.”
You’re complaining about how online gaming is going downhill and how any criticism leads to people insulting others, then spent the rest of your post insulting others. Hilarious lack of self awareness.
May be for you, but for other people could be important and vice versa.
Special events from what i’ve seen are a good opportunity, to grind and see results in short periods of time, a boost for whatever you are needing.
So, important it’s just a matter of perspective.
Exactly, see?
Just imagine in that half an hour turns into a 40 minutes or an hour just because, some guys pressed the button and they are not really there.
Or worst, you don’t get your nine brawls because you don’t have more time to spare past half an hour.
If you can’t win two of those matches in an hour, I’ve got bad news for ya!
Seriously, I rarely ever drop out of a match. The vitriol in trying to make out like people are MORALLY BAD for doing so, though… especially in one of the least important game modes is just silly. I say it’s not that important because it’s temporary, the rewards -aside from copper - are pretty pointless after a few matches. I mean, it’s pretty easy to get enough crackers to do whatever the heck you want with them. At this point, I’d assume most people are playing for decor and copper. By now, if you have enough parts laying around to still be fusing stuff… well… good on ya!
My response was really to the nastiness and intolerance in the previous posts. We’re all playing for different reasons, and if someone plays the game differently than you do, it doesn’t make them a bad person. Maybe if they’re dropping matches left & right, but seriously… cussing and calling people idiots for behavior he admitted to doing himself a couple of posts later is a little silly.
Maybe it’s just my experience playing music in bands, or my proper education, but if I don’t want to deal with team things, I don’t do team activities. Playing a team game with 1 missing person is about as practical and fun than playing music with 1 missing person. I don’t care about your reasons to screw 3 or 7 other persons. I don’t want to know why you feel your time is more important than theirs.
It just sounds like basic decency to me honestly :’^)
To go back to the subject, I see more and more people playing things that require actual skill, rather than Pyres and Caucs. Dueled a Cricket with my Impulses the other day, good fun.
I’m not talking about morals ,i don’t use to talk about that, in a game even less.
I’m not loving this slaughter, you already know this, This all thing about “chasing storms” is getting me bored, the grind is getting me hard too.
The problem is not wining two matches in two hours, the problem is trying to get 1 k wires per day (weekends) 1.5 k ( weekdays), after a while things get a bit wonky and the free loaders mentality starts to get under my skin, a bit more and i’m playing soulless cause i don’t have anything more in the tank.
Thank God is temporary, i can’t maintain this rhythm for long.
For two weeks in a row i reached the wires limits with a day to spare for the end of the week , this week i lifted my foot a bit.
As i said i don’t mind losing as long i take my share of flesh.
Problem is in those games where there are free loaders quitting, me and the few who stay behind to fight are focused so hard that we can’t do nothing. it’s an up hill struggle made even harder without necessity.
I’m so eager to go back to my SGs
I said trying.
last weekend with the premium i made around 2.5 k wires, the weekend before that with normal i made around 1.8 k .
I’m aiming to do around 1 k by the end of this week and around another 2 k this weekend.
I want to see if i can sell 15 k by the end of all this
You simply have a very different outlook on the game than I do or many other players, apparently.
My reason to play is it’s fun and relaxing. It’s a nice little escape from reality. In the back of my mind, I have a grand scheme of what resources I’d like to collect, and what I’d like to use those resources on, but that’s very secondary to just having fun. You’re taking the game and your plans for what resources you want/need MUCH more seriously than I do.
I want to gain those resources, sure, but if what it takes to get them isn’t FUN, I’m not doing it.
For example, Clan Wars is obviously one of the most “profitable” ways to play. But, that would require I schedule my real life around play time so I could play when my clan is available to play. It’d require I build rigs specific to the current meta - not according to the type of rig I like playing. That sounds like work, not play.
Sometimes, I don’t even really want to FIGHT, and just build crap to tinker with. It’s a virtual-world Lego set.
If I had the mentality that I HAD TO GET 1.5K WIRES PER DAY, this game would be nauseating and not much fun.
That’s a lot of words to just echo what Rough Monkey said…
That’s way out of context. Let me put back in the context
Yes this is just a video game., and it’s worth the face value whatever it may be.
But in a video game people prioritize different things, some give more importance to PVE, other to PVP, and others to special events (that normally gives the best bang for the buck grind wise), this is what i meant with my quote
Other thing, Monkey.
Your may be a well stablished player, big inventory, big selection of builds, playing the market and so on, which is great.
You now, have the luxury of playing for your personal enjoyment.
Me, not so much, i don’t give a damn to the market, and so on, other reasons make me a not as well established player, which is great.
I’m not seeking to have the latest and greatest, right now i just want a little more diversity cause ready to go i only have SGs and drones… after a while playing the same thing over and over… you know, get’s old, not as fun.
So, yeah, i’m prioritizing these special event, it will be a boost to go forward to my goals which is having more choices, to be able to rotate more often my builds, that will increase my enjoyment.
Trust me, my approach with the game is very casual all year around, perhaps, too much casual.
Special events even in the warships were the exception ( a month a year i would take it very seriously because the grind would payed of) in Crossout not all Special events pay off in rewards, but this particular one it pays off.
I already answered to Monkey, he took a quote of mine and put out of context.
Just remember when you see some of us not taking the event or any other part of the game seriously enough or not seriously at all that we’re just doing what you’re doing… playing to our specific enjoyment.
The wires are nice in the special event, but - and going back to where I think this all started - if a minute into the match, we’re down by 5000, I’m sorry. I’m bailing out. We’re obviously going to lose, and with limited “real life” time to play, hanging out for wires doesn’t outweigh my desire for another brawl win. If I bail out of a match that’s a clear loss (and I know come from behind victories are possible), the rewards my fellow losers are going to get are probably going to be higher than if I stay.
Edit:
In all fairness, you did refer to other people as “freeloaders…”
I always try to do my best , because i respect that, i understand that. Maybe worthless to me but for the other guy means something
Not other people, only those who don’t contribute for the outcome and expect the win or whatever i’ve been in battles with 3 or 4 players doing 0 points.
what should i call them?
There were battles where i couldn’t do much because i was being suppressed/ countered all the time, but at least i tried to overcome.
I don’t get why losing is a reason to quit though. You still get resources either way, and it doesn’t take that long to get the two wins for the decor crate. Why not just finish the match?
I guess if you hate the mode, but why play it at all if you don’t like it?
Ah… good question, and I think I know what’s going on. I could be wrong, but here’s my theory:
Even if you are an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE player, you’re going to score SOME points. I’m guessing these are people who are having connectivity issues, since that’s when I’ve been the 0 points guy. I also see it happen with multiple players in the same match - making me think it’s probably a regional connectivity issue.
This is also why when I’m on my laptop and playing over a mobile connection, I won’t do most PVP missions simply because I’m more likely to glitch out mid-match.
I don’t think some of you fine folks quite understand how this game or any game fits into some other people’s lives.
I do NOT have hours and hours to play every day. My time is very limited for gaming.
I do get more time on my laptop over a mobile connection while I’m at work (awesome job!) But, I generally stay in patrol or adventure since the connection drops somewhat frequently out in the boonies.
On my gaming rig at home, most days, I get zero time.
So yeah… waiting 3 minutes to watch my team lose? Not generally going to happen.
That being said, and to clarify, it’s been over a week easily since I dropped a hopeless match.
For perspective, 9 successful brawls gets you 100 engineering badges. That’s 250 copper on top of your copter/brawl winnings.
It takes a month or two for the market to settle down from the wire glut. I would get your wire hoard and forget about it until well into the next battlepass.
one of these players i took him out in the beginning of the battle , he never come back again, fortunately he was in the other team, but that isn’t the point.
an you spot him in other of these screenshots.
