Yep. That’s why SFII went down in history as a great fighting game, and MK as the thing that provoked the first videogame scandal in the US lol. Replayed both not so long ago, I realise now why we destroyed our controllers on SFII, and barely touched MK past the novelty back then
It was just an example to make a point. I’m guessing you got the point though. That is basically it, I think.
“Originality is the art of concealing your sources.”― Benjamin Franklin
If I’m playing PVP, I find I need to use some tricks borrowed from the META. I like to pour more art on my versions, but still; A goblin/meatgrinder is still a goblin/meat-grinder. Mine might look more like a dragon, but it’s still a dog-brick. So ya, I use a little of both. I put as much art as I can into it, until it starts loosing. If I’m winning too easily, to me that means I can put more art on it, and that’s what I’ll do. If I have to play full-on META hideous to win, I just won’t play. I’ll go do something else.
To be fair that’s not too far from CS 1.6 :'D. Other shooters were definitely better in that aspect.
Whatever.
So, I’m going to read between the lines here, and guess that you are suggesting if someone really sucks at the game, they should only play really artsy build so they can’t blame the build and not there horrendous skill. LOL
And this is a rule you put on yourself to have fun!
That is awesome!
Doc, I have always liked you because of this.
You like arty builds and try to challenge yourself but your not a like some of these guys.
Nobody is saying that put restrictions on others, that isn’t even possible.
We just know that those who don’t do this are unable to challenge themselves or prove their skill to themselves.
If you don’t have the innovation to apply your own challenge to a game in order to better yourself than I see you as weak and unimaginative and have no issue voicing my opinion on the subject.
I think the assumption that people who advocate for better balance are clowns that only drive underperforming artbuilds is misplaced. Lexi doesn’t seem to underperform, and I sure don’t feel like I do either when the game isn’t a complete shitfest like the Oma hover MG meta was. It’s precisely because we don’t like to grossly underperform but aren’t ready to grab any advantage that we’re annoyed at the poor balance. A Timmy who just wants to drive a big tonk with big guns will, and won’t complain.
The mentality that every small advantage is good to take is what leads to so many cheated records in sports, irl or online. One moment you’re optimizing everything ingame to increase your chances, the next moment you’re pause-cheating a speed run or putting an electric motor in your bike. And why wouldn’t you if it goes undetected/earns you rewards? The idea is to win after all, right?
Reminder that “min-maxers” in this game are also min-maxing ways to hog the market, abuse the CW reward system, and all that crap that is plain toxic for the game and its players. It permeates every aspect of it. Those events where only the top 1k gets a decent reward? Yeah GL on those if you ain’t in a cheating clan that is abusing the scoring system instead of actually competing for the places.
Ha well if they wish to do this they’re only cheating themselves, lying to ones self will never lead to improvement.
Even losing a match the player will know whether it was their fault and if they carried their weight regardless. Crossout is not a twitch shooter where you can 1 tap the whole team in a 1v6 situation, sometimes it’s just logistically impossible to win a losing match unless the enemies do something dumb (they can usually just all sit on cap and force you to the cap and kill you with numbers if they’re smart).
At the end of the day a player knows their worth and how well they compare to others in the game.
A Timmy who just wants to drive a big tonk with big guns
But some people here assume what kind of players people are or what kind of weapons they use.
For example - I personally own almost all of the items in the game fused.
I build tons of different builds and almost always play a different build every night.
One of the main builds I play is a triple flash, daze, wheel build - it is sooooooooooo faaarrrr from META it’s a joke.
So am I one of the cool kids? Or not?
I rarely play the same build 2-3 games in a row… so anyone to tell me what kind of player I am? I don’t know…. None of you guys really know anyone here.
I built like 10 different 9k builds last week and shared them with the community.
Am I the one playing the game wrong?
Rule #1: their is no right or wrong.
Honestly if a triple Flash Daze wheeled dog is the least Meta thing you own and “unorthodox” for you, it’s going to be difficult to understand each other. Just played against one in CW It’s the standard rush anti porc/kap thing.
Flash is meta, the wheels you’re using are meta for dogs, Daze is meta (especially your perfect-fused Daze). Maybe the whole build isn’t the most optimal way to play those items, but…
You like arty builds and try to challenge yourself but your not a like some of these guys.
Well, thanks, but I feel like you need to stop calling these other people clowns.
Let somebody else have a turn saying dumb schit for a few rounds.
Go get a drink. We’ll still be here saying dumb schit when you get back, probably.
Go get a drink.
He’ll grab it poolside, of course
Honestly if a triple Flash Daze wheeled dog is the least Meta thing you own and “unorthodox” for you,
Here is the difference.
I made a triple flash daze build the same day that daze came out and have been playing it since.
It was built within an hour or two of when you could get a Daze.
So am I in the cool club now?
Really I don’t get it.
Make a tracked build for CW and you’ll quickly get it.
And don’t put small tracks on a dog please I’m watching you
I have ever track in the game fused collecting dust.
Wouldn’t even consider building with them.
Hmmm… maybe built into a spider for tonnage/armor.
But that’s about it.
Then you know why I complain about busted balance since I joined this game
I’m a tank player. I don’t mean tracks. I mean, the shield and buffs and CCs. Tanking with Cohort was viable two months. Funniest time I had in XO. It was just glorious plowing through relic hovers who were ot of position. Unstoppable, unburstable, my damage sucked but commiting everything into health and speed WAS a choice. It isn’t an option rn. Legit can’t catch a single viable movement part with a heavy cab nowadays lol.
Lol well yeah man.
No denying that brother.
But as far as items in game go - it’s smokem if you gotem.
You can’t hate on someone for playing the game.
The grind in this game is real - many people are going to take the easy road.
It isn’t an option rn. Legit can’t catch a single viable movement part with a heavy cab nowadays lol.
Very very true.
And thank you for getting back in the subject of the game.
Slow = Dead
You can’t hate on someone for playing the game.
You can judge them on how they play
