Nerf gerrida

Sometimes you hate 'em a little bit. When you smoke two fused scorps 1v2 at range with Kaiju and no Oma, and the following round they’re back in 2 fused breakers and 2 Firebug Flash and just faceroll your ass because you’re still using those old ass Bigrams, it’s hard not to get salty.

Or the dudes who nail you perfectly while strafing 95kmh on one hover because mouse steering while you’re basically unable to move because you lost 3/7 legs…

Lol yeah, I get you man.

Two of my favorite PvP builds is on bigrams.

I still play it, BUT as soon as I get 8 fused of the new legs I’m going to rebuild them.

It’s a no brainer. My current build using 7 bigrams and I can replace them with 8 of the new legs.

Now we are completely back on topic  lol

It’s impossible not to get back to movement parts when discussing XO’s balance anyway ;). It’s always been the major problem. Devs just have no intention to balance strafing vs non-strafing, and adding melee vs range in the mix just means it’s a mess.

You should, and I’ve been meaning to bring that up, Mr. Tank Mechanic.

I tried building a tank, as close to a real tank as I could. It sucks, but that isn’t the point. The point is, I think you are qualified to build a tank that looks like a proper tank, yeah? You’ve probably got all the necessary parts, too. So, I’d like to see a tank built in Crossout by somebody who knows his way around a tank. I’m just curious…well, not just curious, I’m looking to steal some ideas, frankly.

Mine was OK…but I’m a press operator not a tank mechanic.

I still don’t have all the available parts yet either…I know. I’ve just neglected to bottom out some of my factions. I don’t know why. It seems like that should have been a done deal a long time ago, but whatever. It’s not.

I used to build a lot of tank builds my first year before I knew anything about the game.

Tracks where even worse the first few years.

I’m not dedicated enough to collecting decor items to make a proper tank.

Side note: When I was working on real tanks it was the M1A1

My Sleipnir tracks don’t need your pity. I run Porc Flash/Kapkans on Sleipnirs. They burn down Levis, Porc hovers and other trash like that on a regular basis. Other Porc builds fall apart in a Sleipnir brawl while I roll off to fight other people.

Looks like it’s begging for the Crossout treatment.

I don’t have the right tracks…

…I should make a Printing Press, Leviathan.

You build an M1A1, and I’ll build a AB Dick 360.

I fixed this for you. Jump forward + low kick = anti sweep ez mode. Cheese is me just throwing you every time i see your character twitch. Unless you mean against AI.

Lol. Am I the only one old enough to be an Arcade kid? (I know Im not, but dammit son)

Hmm. I can’t find fault in this statement.

My mother would drop me off at the laundromat on Saturday morning with a roll of quarters & a week’s worth of laundry. Next door to the laundromat was the Nickleodeon arcade. It didn’t take me long to learn that I could wash almost all our clothes in the “industrial” washer meant for rugs, comforters and other large items in about 2 loads. That would net me enough quarters to play for at least an hour or so… Good times. To this day, she has no idea how much money she spent on Defender, Spy Hunter, Galaxian…

I would skip school, go to the Arcade with a couple others. Many days I would play from 10-2:30 (had to get home at the right time lol) on a quarter. (MK). Even if no one played me I could beat the game on a quarter. When I was rich I would play TNMT or other quarter gobblers. If I got tired of standing up, they had galaga in a sit down version like at the pizza places.
Ah, memories.

That looks like something you shouldn’t put your finger in!

The funnier thing is - I also used to run a print shop that had AB Dick presses.

Played 7k PS yesterday. 90% of players were on hovers, gerridas, or omnis. The few wheeled players were flame dogs (but most of them were on omnis too). Only persons running ranged weapons on wheels were ugly isotope green noobvans with mismatched ACs on the roof.

I’m not particularly interested in StrafeOut so I logged out and went to play better games lol. (And lemme tell you Blasphemous is a world-class 2D platformer)

“But HoVeRs HaVe BeEn DeStRoYeD” Yeah I’m at a solid 50%+ players using hovers past 10k PS over the last days so I’m having none of that shit. It’s just that Gerridas and Omnis are (less) broken too. Game will keep being garbage as long as devs believe powercreep is a good monetization system, period.

I have similar thoughts to yours, even if they are not as far as updating the previous hover.

I think now that the developers are trying to divert the player’s attention with some new similar but powerful mobile device.Just like the current gerrida and the upcoming spherical mobility, so the developers are probably aware of which mobility units are more powerful, and may have used the current method to accommodate some players, but this will leave the original less powerful mobility units as they are or even worse in comparison, which won’t solve the underlying problem.

What would you suggest to fix the movement part issues? What would you do to boost non-strafing parts to balance them?

I just want to nerf those three.

I don’t want to cater for the emotions of players who use unbalanced mobile devices

And even if you do change it, there’s just too much to change, and it’s not much different than a straight nerf

So you just want the game to play slower. Ok, cant agree with that. We will tolerate the whining and keep the game speed as it is (or make it play faster)

If slower isnt what you meant, define your nerf suggestion please.

You know what makes the game go fastest are those fast cars with tyres. Not these things. These things don’t affect the speed of the game much, I didn’t think about their effect on the game

That isnt defining your nerf suggestions. How would you balance movement parts?

You mean exactly how to nerf?

hover: makes steering speed more affected by weight
omni, gerrida: increase in power consumption

Some players use tyres to increase the load capacity of the gerrida design…
