I think if you wanted to make a temporary change to a build, you could either copy it to an empty slot and work on the copy, or you could modify the existing blueprint, and then use the undo controls to get back to the original.
Hopefully someone can test whether it’s possible to revert to an older version of a build after playing matches with it. I certainly hope there is, otherwise fine tuning builds will become more annoying.
I really wish this game could stop doing progress just for the sake of progress. Autosave thing sounds like a nightmare and I have never been a fan of them making the UI more and more mobile-game like.
I think they imagine it looks cool, but to me it just makes the game feel way cheaper than it already is and like some kind of a cheap off-brand app store scam game
targem gotta fill a quota otherwise this trainwreck of a game is getting shut down
This is crap . Seriously. I like to mess around with builds and try different things out in my back yard but now anything I do is permanent. And u say use your unused slots to store your build while I’m doing that but that means I’m gonna have to grind or buy more slots cuz I don’t have any extra ones. The fact that the devs want to limit the amount of blueprints has always been stupid and has added to the reasons people are discouraged from playing this game. from day one blueprints have been hard to get and they may be easier to obtain now but I want to grind for stuff not blueprints.
“Cheap?” I think “optimized” is what they were going for, but ya. I’m not a fan, but if they needed the optimization, what can you do? It’s not a change I like, but I think these changes may make it easier for them to work across all platforms, and that is probably what this is really about.
Here’s a sneak peak.
They added a “duplicate” feature that I suppose is to help with experimental editing.
You can duplicate the blueprint, then modify it while keeping an original tucked away, preserving it from changes.
I could easily live without this update, but if this is about optimization, then maybe it’s worth it for the sake of the game’s development, and I can live with it. It’s not really that bad, mostly just different.
Also, the undo feature seems to work even after you take the build into battle. It didn’t before. So you can swap guns out, go into battle, come back, and then undo those changes.
That’s good news! Glad they’re implementing it that way.
One interesting note; They gave me five or six blueprint slots right off the bat when I logged on, plus they gave me a gift box with a crap-tonne of the blueprint expansion resources (whatever those are called), I presume so I could see how it would be to have a full fifty slots. Point is, I think they plan on giving us all six free blue print slots with this update. That’d be nice.
I hope you are right!
I suspect that because of the rework of BfU and CC and CW, they’re aware that players are going to need a lot more blueprint slots and are trying to address that first.
it would be possible to say they just wanted to optimize the ui quickly but they ruined the whole theme of the game when they went from the orange/black themed ui into this mobile-looking unstyled ui
that was already a thing
blueprints are an easy issue to fix to act like you give a shit since many players are complaining about it
It being separate from the gift box is what makes me think so. Usually on the TS, they have a gift box with all the new items, like guns and modules or whatever, that you’ll be testing, and then there is the new game environment (if there is one) that just loads with the rest of the game. These six blueprints loaded with the game environment. I got a pop-up notice that it happened and that was the end of ceremony for that.
So, my logic is in that the extra blueprints loaded with the game environment, and didn’t come in the gift box that I needed to open. I’m reading an assumption between the lines that may or may not be correct.
I don’t want anybody to get there hopes up, but I do think this is the case…it’d be nice.
@DocSavage yea they always give you want is being tested, so it’s sometimes a lot of fun to get on the test server as you can end up with stuff you don’t normally get to play around with.
Ran threw adding slots to look at cost:
So first your existing heli, levi, and garage spots that are normally at the bottom of the screen have been added to your normal amount of slots that you have. I normally have 17 slots in the live server.
I started out with 20 slots on the test server at a cost of 4 per new one, slots 25-42 were a cost of 5 each, it maxed out at a cost of slots is 6 disks per new one at near 43.
Range Targets:
The range targets they mention being able to add are the same as you have currently for Heli, Garage, Levi. Only now you can pick which ones you want out. I was hoping it would be more exciting then that.
Me too…but I can work with this, probably.
What I’d like in the future is to be able to assign blue prints to my farm-bots. It’s not a big want, and visitors are also good for testing against, but I’d like to be able to customize my farm-bots too.
Game balance seems to be settling in fairly well from the last update, IMO. I’m cultivating a positive attitude towards the new year. I think it will be much better than the last…
I had asked for similar on the old server too, 3 spots for 3 different types of builds for the farmbots a short range, medium range, and long range. I had at the time thought it could be something that could used with garage raids. I had thought it could be used with garage building stuff. So you could go raid a players garage. i.e. to add base building into the game.
I didn’t see much of a problem with it though I think the cost per slot is still a bit high.
Indeed it is. Good to know.
It wasn’t always. It used to be that the undo feature only worked until you took it into an actual match.
I would probably just use it to dress my farm-bots in silly holiday outfits, but I could make them functional too, I suppose.
I use to have fun with the farm bots when I first started playing. The default ones use to be fair to test against but that only lasts for a little while. If we could build them ourselves it could be viable for a lot longer. Similarly I wouldn’t have to go set up a custom game each time I wanted to test something outside of patrol/pvp.
I’d probably dress them up too but I’d probably enjoy the functional portion more.
I went back to the TS to explore the “free blue prints with this update theory.” I started by updating my inventory and copying my current account to the Test Server. It’s been a long time since I was on the TS, and most of my builds (formerly only 8 blueprint slots) didn’t work anymore due to updates over the last year or so.
Anyway, what I ended up with was 16 blue print slots in total (after updating my inventory). My actual account only has 13, but if you count the 3 active temp slots (air, ground, leviathan) too, we get 16…so no free blueprints?
It could be a glitch from me updating my inventory. IDK. Originally my TS account only had 8 slots, and the update automatically added 6…or 5? (It could have been 5. I don’t remember). Five would bring me up to 13, like my actual account. I could have had some kind of minor bug. IDK.
They should at least offer up some free blueprints as event rewards. Do something to make people excited about the change.
