TL;DR:
“oh no, I now have to build new cars, I cant keep driving same build for another 5 years because I have zero creativity and despise building cars. And only play this ghame to punish myself.”

ID say that’s only a bother if youre creating new builds, which most aren’t, you always have to load up a vehicle, you don’t always have to load up a different co driver when changing builds, so it makes more sense that the co driver be tied to a build instead imo

It may be a bother if you want to try out all new co-drivers on each build and you have to choose again every time. Imagine you have at least 12 filled blueprints and you can’t firstly choose Jay and play 12 or more times, then choose Bear 2.0 and so on. Again, this is not an issue to choose co-driver every time, but I don’t see the reason of removing that ability.
So you were previously saving all your builds with no co-driver, so that you could switch between blueprints while keeping the same co-driver active?
I’m still not sure why anyone would need to do that. Your explanation makes no sense to me, still.

No, I wasn’t. And it doesn’t matter whether I did something or not.
What matters is there was such possibility and now this possibility is gone. For no reason.
Gee, I dunno, maybe some newbies could just be exploring this game and needing that? Or these aren’t worthy of some support if they don’t know the game yet? Yes, having the chosen co-driver always active was a good thing for them, especially if they didn’t know they could save co-drivers. New players are not obliged to obtain comprehensive knowledge about the game as soon as they launch it for the first time.
This is what is called “thinking about others”.
Bad luck then. I can’t make it simplier than it is now. Or maybe I can but I don’t want to.
I personally feel like this update is a huge improvement on the previous codriver system…fewer perks, but much more meaningful ones that can work with a variety of builds. I have successfully used Yuki, Phobos, Atitlan, and Jay on different builds so far. I agree some of the perks don’t mesh well, but the main abilities are INSANELY powerful, with up to 25% damage buffs, they should be hard to activate. Just mu thoughts after 3 days of playing.

Maybe it’s because it’s for the new crowds not the old population that’s played day 1. Look master co driver that was a very big difference in fights when you have an extra 500 kg on a build you can weigh urself down with and armor urself with so the balance was off especially in clan wars. I technically beat the game without ever fully upgrade master co driver and never clan wars and i got the 1000 gamer score so in a gamers point of view if you are going for gamer score this games easy to beat and you don’t necessarily need to be in drama wars to get ur gamer score. Clan wars served its purpose and that was to pay the company. Now the company is full and now it’s a waiting game until the long term players leave and hopefully the bad ones get the hint and are never seen again for the corruption and hacks and mods and abuse they put onto everyone else who just wants to play a simple free game. Keep it.
Simple and the simple will stay. Keep it hostile and only the strong and hostile stay. So guess what one they went too. Obviously it’s not for the long term players but for the short term players now and maybe you will see it. The ones who earned recognition and respect will always be a part of the game. The ones who ruined it will always be forgotten in the game. So just remember that next time someone tells you to be like this or be like that just because everyone else is doing it, dosen’t always mean its the right thing to do. Be a hero not a zero. Too many zeros out there and that’s because its a number. But not many heros out there and thats because its a word. Obviously both are words but one has alot more meaning to the ones that look for it or earn that title. So keep those zeros its just a lonely number. I rather be a hero.

If your trying to get “respect” out of a video game, then you might have bigger issues.
This game was never meant to be “Beat”. Gamer score is pointless reward to keep simple minded people motivated.
In an imaginary video game world you can be whatever you think you are. Do what makes you happy man, lol. You’re obviously in your own world for sure.

We have something similar now, with some percent of extra tonnage or whatnot.

I did not know that. I haven’t tinkered with the co drivers yet. And Ps they need to save to the blueprints you use. What happened to that save portion that saves the co driver to that blueprint? Or do we have to activate a co driver every time we switch?.
Well he’s got you there Monkey, you do seem a bit serious all the time 
But that said, Monkey is right… This is just a video game. There is no player that will look at another player who’s got a big shiny sword or a high score and and say - ‘Wow that guy must be awesome’ - … A few kids maybe… But in any online game, if any player considers someone cool and special, it’s him self only.
So like Monkey said, achievements and scores are just there for people who got them. 99 out of 100 won’t care what you got.

If you didn’t save co-driver, then yes. But you can save them with your builds, like before.
