New co-drivers. Test server

That’s one of those things I’m worried about the other co-drivers even though they took time and resources to power up they were at least freely available without jumping through any special hoops. I think what we would be more likely see is pvp take a hit in the rotating styles and you’ll see the undeveloped alts in patrol and other pve areas more so though.

This is also one of my concerns but it’s more from the large buff values than from just going from co-driverless to with co-driver. If they scaled the co-drivers like in the old system it would diversify the pools and ease the effect as you would have players landing in different spots often.

I really wouldn’t mind seeing a tradable co-driver system in play (i.e. pick extras and alts up from pack, events, giveaways…) Give them some type of basic path based level system and let players reset them if they want to take a different path. What I mean by paths would be something simple like weapon, equipment, mobility or defensive specializations or something like that. I think it would be a great bonus value for packs too.

I’d even go for a fully open co-driver system where you have a single one and just spend exp on their skill upgrades to train them up how you want. This can cuts costs by a lot since you don’t need to spend on duplicate skills across multiple co-drivers.

It was said it won’t affect flying drones from what i remember.

Can’t say I like those codrivers perks.

what it says is “The talent does not take into account being near quadcopter drones.”

So even if they can not use the “talent”, they can still use the passives.

.

But everyone else will have 20%-30% damage while those drones won’t , if they are that much of a problem, then why not just shoot at them? I almost never see a drone player, but when i do, it is just a free win to whoever team he is not in.

Who thinks that Glory Points will become cross-coin purchases to increase your max?

They haven’t pulled something like that in the past and already said they would hold any spill over from the system change. So there might not be any need to. There are fairly limited situations that would even make it necessary to hoard them in anyway at the moment too. Such as they haven’t mentioned adding any future co-drivers post system change over.

Purchasing max increases or even the points themselves would probably bring accusations of P2W too. Which they have in the past always backed away from in years past.

Woot! They are here!

The one co-driver I really dont like is the one with the perk where you get a damage bonus for being behind your enemy.

For one it promotes a playstyle I dislike, and two it it makes wheel builds that drive away from enemies who are chasing them while they shoot behind them less affective.

Maybe it’s a bias because I’m playing with sabath wheels and making builds that shoot to the rear. But I just don’t think it’s a healthy co-driver to have in the game.

They’re called intelligence now and not glory points as that name sounds like it is reserved for a track stop bathroom

Some of them are probably too build-specific, IMO. The one in question seems good for lance builds and that’s about it. Not a terribly popular play-style.

But, I think that is because they plan on building a diverse population of these co-drivers and selling them. If you don’t find one that suits your style presently, there will be more available in the near future, so said TheLittleSam.

You can buy the current co-drivers outright with Crosscrowns presently (if you’re an Ace), and in the future there will be other “offer-tunities.” Now, for your convenience, you can just buy perks with cash. Awesome, right?

A 17k+ Typhoon Hover goes “buy buy” in a flash of fire in under a second with lances.

They are used for sure at high PS and in clan wars. Not as much as they used to be, but a “Lance, harvester, flash” build is no joke.

I do agree many of the drivers are very specific, but that is what opens the opportunity for new specialized drivers.

As long as you can still get them as a free player then I have no problem with it.

In a game with such a hellish grind as Crossout “pay to advance” is good for people that have more money then time.

You can’t hate on people willing to support the game with their cash, because you don’t have to.

I for sure will work for drivers, it is to easy to get points. You do not gain much by buying them. It gives you something to work towards.

I say the guys that buy the points are just making the game less fun for themselves. BUT as the saying goes “Smokem if you gottem”

New co drivers are not as bad as i thought they would be. Got the turret one for all my turret builds and the extended invisible with speed boost right out of the gate and the others don’t have much use to me right now.

It pigeon holes a bit more in some respects but I mainly play drone builds 90 percent of the time.

Just glad I rebuild most of my rides before the update hit as I was using maxed out master jack on everything

I just hope they get some polish. The translations/wordings aren’t always clear, and some don’t do what they say on the box (ex: Jay resets if you miss a good chunk of your volley with weapons like Crickets or Kaiju). Some seem pretty weak, others really strong.

And then, Targem can start pumping out new ones. 3-4 more co-drivers would be neat to have a wide array of options, covering many builds.

ew

I like mine, but I know how frustrating it is to get the short end of those sticks, too. People make it look easy (like Hovers), but it’s not. I don’t think they are, anyway.

That was a little salty, eh? So, it was. I was more pointing that at the developers for monetizing Co-Drivers, than players for playing.

I think the whole Crosscrown thing is garbage, personally (that’s what they sell the points with).
Having said that, it’s not like the Co-Drivers are particularly expensive, I suppose. They’re not. The points are cheap, and anybody should be able to afford them. I just went through their prices and did the math a moment ago. It’s really not that bad. Nobody is going to wallet-warrior co-drivers at those prices. They’re too inexpensive.

I’d like to see one that buffs the reload on revolvers. Nothing does that as far as I know.

Yeah, rn the perk are mostly +x% damage stuff. I wish we had more variety. Power/speed, reloading speed, modules cooldown, lots of ingame mechanisms could be used in new codrivers’ perks.
And it doesn’t have to just begimmicky gameplay stuff, it offers lore opportunities too. Steppenwolf loader dude, Scavenger firefighter tanky codriver, Syndicate drift copilot, Dawn’s Children radar guy, the list goes on…
