Happened with me once. I hovered over a Ravager like over an obstacle. But next time another Ravager touched me. Maybe it’s them Ravager cars with lower fit?
I sold my kapkan yesterday to buy two of the new tracks after unlocking the fused ones. I realized i had no builds with it and was like, “i can always buy it back later.”. It feels wierd not owning a kapkan. I feel naked without it in my inventory…even though i have zero builds useing it atm. Ive had that lil kapkan for many a years.
Oof i typed that so fast. Those spelling errors were real lol.
I easily win half of all my games, on Playstation same as you. Cmon my guy, you’re making console look bad again.
Your insecurities are a worse look.
Anyways, I’ve seen survivors win. They’re very rare. It might sound weird, but there is a lot of luck involved.
The map is also far more treacherous than last year. The difficulty ramps up after the second gate.
Just got out of a game where a retcher hover solo’d the last third of the map to win as a survivor. The few Ravager cars that somehow managed to reach him past the clouds of grenades couldn’t touch him because he was floating too high. All he had to do was fly around waiting for the timer to run out, vaporize the couple of cars camping the exit and leave.
Broken.
Oh, and those people quick to defend retchers as not OP always mention they’re easy to shoot off (as compensation supposedly). Well, I don’t see any guns on Ravagers…
For crying out loud devs, if you’re going to insist on trying to make a square peg (hovers) fit a round hole for your car game at least add some taller spikey bits on the Ravager cars so no hover can float over them with impunity.
I saw survivors win one match yesterday, and that was the first I’ve seen.
Having said that, I’ve probably only played this mode 20 times or so, but that’s still a sign that survivor wins are rare, and that no survivor build is truly OP, or I’d be seeing it more.
Are you really claiming you reach the end of the track as a survivor half the time? If so, you are clearly better at this mode than the vast majority of players.
Yes, i literally make ot to the end as a survivor around 50% of the games i play.
I have played about the same or a little less.
BUT, on Xbox when I play the last 10 games or so I played we made it out OR if we lost we made it all the way to the end before losing.
I would like to mention I also only play this event solo.
I’m using a Hover, double flash, Kapcan, Catalina build (you know, a budget event build wink)
I’ve been making it pretty close to the end, but still haven’t made it.
The one survivor win I saw last night wasn’t actually hovers, but looked like a well coordinated wheeled team using coms. I would’ve made it to the end with them, but made a dumb mistake and drove right into a ravager while looking behind me. Oops.
I’ll bet that if I go back to that mode tonight I’ll see more survivor wins. People seem to be figuring out the mode, even though it’s stacked in favour of ravagers.
I think this this weekend will be the best time to play the event if you want to try and win as a survivor.
The reason being is many people are already figuring out how to beat it every time. So this weekend you will have all the try hard guys speed running it and figuring it all out. Then once they get it all down they will get board with this event and the last half of the event will be a bunch of newer player or lower ps players.
I find a lot of events are like that, everyone is all about it the first week, then no one cares.
If they had made the rewards go towards the main BP, I think people would keep playing the mode (I know I would), but these mini-BP things aren’t very appealing.
I like the mode, but scrap isn’t enough to keep me interested in the long term.
For me, the biggest challenge is anticipating where the ravagers are going to spawn, and remembering where the pit is after the bridge. I keep driving into it, even though I know it’s coming.
I intend to get to the end this weekend, but I don’t mind so much when I get infected. I kind of like playing as a ravager, and usually score ok.
This mode convinced me to finally get a set of icarus 7s crafted , holy crap what a difference , had i not gotten hit by the last plasma cannons and lost a hover i would have won solo
before i forget…the ravs spawn before you.not after you have gone past a check point, which makes it better.
spoiler alert…after the last gate there is nothing to see or get(which would be nice to get bonus rewards since u made it to the end)…
u can self destruct to be a rav if you want…
i been seeing only 1 rav at the start because they didn’t want to be a rav…
i played half the game being a rav and the only one,and we ended up winning(sure i was bored and wanted to see what could happen)…glad i did…
when u figure out what all the spawns n where to put ur turrets n stuff an how long the wait time is for each check point,it more fun…
i mean,if i kinda like it,it can’t be all that bad…
yea , seems only beneficial to kill them when you cant run from them like at the gates , otherwise you end up putting yourself at a disadvantage by sending them further ahead
I just saw a match where 7 humans survived.
It could be because I spawned as a ravager and did nothing but block the other ravager until he quit.
Not sure what happened to the guy who got tagged. I guess he quit, too.
I’ve been thinking of ways to improve this mode: survivors really need to be able to win more than they do (without relying on hover exploits of course). I’d suggest making the course a bit easier, like:
- At the 3nd gate (the one after the bridge) just have two towers to destroy instead of three;
- Remove some of the obstacles like fewer explosive barrels, smooth out the course a bit (bumps & humps), make the bridge less treacherous, fewer plasma cannons on the bridge and the frozen lake.
For the Ravagers add some taller spikes to guarantee hover ramming. I’m not particularly fond of the stunning effect but without it the survivors probably wouldn’t stand a chance once there are 4 or more infected cars. Perhaps halve the stun time, though.
For the situation where a lone survivor just runs back towards spawn just to prolong the game I’d make the sections of the course that have been exited somehow untenable, perhaps something similar to the sand storm that slowly closed off the map in the old Storm Warning brawl. The storm front would would come from the west and then pause just before reaching the frozen lake before continuing again.
Or some other mechanism rather than a storm if it can’t be made to work without cutting off active sections of the course too soon.
Not sure how many times I played this mode tonight, but only saw one survivor win out of at least 10 matches.
I think the biggest problem is the people concentrating too much on killing ravagers, which just puts them in more favourable spawn positions.
I’m still trying to figure out the best setup to hold back multiple ravagers, without resorting to buying stuff I don’t have. Also don’t want to play hovers, because I enjoy driving the track more on wheels.
I guess this is one fun thing about this mode, you can decide if you want to help or not.
In my mind, I think I was helping… I mean, the complaints are that humans never win.
Now, there are seven guys going around telling folks they won. LOL
I’m kind of into the fact that ravagers win more often.
Gets the adrenaline going more, especially when you get near to the end.
