Yikes…I think the longest I’ve sat in a queue for missions was maybe 1.5 minutes. I play the North America region, don’t restrict missions to that region, and play 6-12 ps levels. The only time I’ve noticed longer queue times is when I’m doing a fusion build with 1 or 2 other players, but usually that’s after 11PM eastern time.
Ya, this sucks. It’s been like this for about a week, and keeps getting worse.
I play from the USA, but don’t restrict servers either.
If I doubled my power-score, I’m sure there is a higher population to be had there, but that’s nothing I’m interested in, never was (I don’t understand the allure), and so I don’t have the gear, even if I wanted to. I have no idea how to make art builds work at 9K.
I tried to keep up for a while, was a regular with the battle passes, but they would just nerf that stuff to trash and lead me around in grindy circles, running after the next best thing, until I said fukkit, and stopped chasing it. I don’t need their fancy guns to build cool stuff and smack kids around, and most of it doesn’t work anyway…but it looks like I need that crap in order to play at all, eh?
Doc are you EST?
Mountain Standard Time.
One thing I noticed using that server status tool, is that most times, the Western US server ping is double the Eastern server ping. In theory, this shouldn’t have any correlation to queue times, but who knows? I’m assuming MST players would be sent to the Western server. I just found it curious, since I’m in the east.
Servers were awful for the last several days up until about midnight last night…so if it isn’t one thing it’s another. The servers are running pretty smooth now. It was often unplayable before.
This is the problem…
Nobody is playing this game. I know, I know, the steam charts are not an accurate portrayal of player population…but I tell you, whenever their numbers look like this, my queue times look like that.
I suppose it will probably get better after the new Battle Pass comes out. It usually does, and it’s probably so unpopulated because many players have finished their Battle Pass grind and are no longer motivated to play, so they aren’t.
Psup…
I get a match in a under a min still running on any server that will take me. PS I think has a lot to do with the que times though.
Me too, but there aren’t a lot of people in those lobbies either, apparently.
But instead of lingering for better company, what the matchmaker does is allow more disparity in PS when assembling matches. IMO, that also sucks.
I get sick of trying to overcome thousands of points in PS too, because it always buries me down at the bottom. A 2K point disadvantage is approximately the equivalent my enemy having an extra Legendary or even Relic weapon I don’t get.
That’s exactly how that plays out too. Over and over. If I go in at 8K, I never face bad guys running PS 6k builds. I get players running 10K builds, and I’m at the bottom. It gets old real fast, IMO. What difference is “game balance” making at that point, I wonder?
It’s so easy to hate this game. There are just so many things to complain about. I’ve never really seen anything like it…maybe, like a smoking hot chronic liar with herpes, a fentanyl addiction, and a degree in law?
At the upper end there is sometimes a good 5k difference. That in itself doesn’t really bother me.
What bugs me is that after the match maker runs it tries to compensate for drop outs and starts plugging in replacements players. However they do not rebalance for the new players PS scores against the other team while doing this shuffling around. To me that’s kind of shitty.
I don’t really get mad at the game though, but that’s mostly because I don’t really take it to seriously. One of the funny situations that I’ve sound is there is a scorpion bot that can hit you from across the map when you jump using legs in mid air. As Jumping legs + Cannon = I can change the angle of attack to avoid all the teammates blocking my shot. It’s rather funny but that bot is really persistent about shoot me when I jump.
Are people just too stupid to take advantage of that kind of difference? I’m not sure how that wouldn’t make all the difference in the world. I can tell you the difference that disadvantage makes to me is that I am going to get pwnd completely.
It bothers me. I don’t like being sent into matches I’m going to loose by design, over and over. It’s a fools errand, not a fun game. It’s certainly not competitive or fair for a game to function like this. I mean, why even bother with “balance” updates, if the match maker is just going to throw it all to the wind like that?
Never mind, I think I know.
I just log off when that starts happening, and I sure as hell ain’t paying actual money for that game experience. IMO, this game could easily be much better entertainment than it is. I’ve seen it better, in fact.
It completely depends on how well the random team can work together. A few hot headed run a heads can easily land a team at a even greater disadvantage.
Some of that is a player pool issue, some of it is connectivity over the web too. Even if you had all AI players you probably could still do balance updates based on the effectiveness of a weapon. Though you would think entropy would take over after a while and they would slow down the changes. Every introduction of a new item disturbs that path though.
I just laugh and if it really starts to get me I swap builds and PS zones.
I think we have similar profiles ( experience and so on, i’m level 113, or so ), we play similar PS brackets.
If your builds are just like this one.
Then, your builds are just like mine, pretty strait forward, no seal clubbing, no “special sauces”.
You are from the USA, i’m from Portugal, pretty much the difference.
I don’t get those waiting times, even now, 23:00 my local time.
Often i get into games where i don’t know where i am but judging by the lag and rubber banding, somewhere far.
That stuff always gets me to giggle.
That’s it in a nut-shell.
I wonder if that build still works. It used to, but Mudnbeer was saying their were new issues with shotguns. I felt like I was feeling that too. I had my own spin-off of his build, and mine felt like it was under-performing too. I should download that one and take it for a spin, see how it goes…supposing I don’t sit in a queue all night. I’m not doing that.
I haven’t bought a battle pass in two years, but this next one is focused on wheels, I hear, so I might pick it up just to have the gear to play when it gets like this. I like wheels, and speed, so maybe this one’s for me.The queues are certainly much quicker at 8k or higher, if you can tolerate the PS disparities.
I think it’s mostly this. I don’t like it. I get it, but I don’t like it.
This is the Way.
Still getting similar queues at 8k
When does the next Battle Pass come out? People only seem to play for the grind. We must love the grind, eh? Bring us the grind.
On a side note: Fuzes seem to work a bit better these days. I like that. I was pissed they nerfed those things right after I fuzed them. Having all the perks lined up helps too, like with the Cheetah, and Bigfeets. IDK if the Harpy is still ideal for them or not, but that’s what’s under there. I’m learning to like the Oculus too. It’s got one of those in the trunk.
Other than the crap queues, it wasn’t a bad run.
Which issues?
A build can have a sweet spot to be, if beneath that spot it doesn’t reach full potential if above it’s too much to handle.
The same build can have different sweet spots according to who is driving it.
I maintain what i said about it.
But i do think it has legs for an higher PS.
Hit box issues. They shoot into the sky and you can’t aim them downward at targets in front of you. it’s hard to tell, really. I can’t hit anything with them anymore. I mean you can, but it seems like most of the shots aren’t hitting a target. IDK. They suck. They feel about as powerful as Hornets.
