PC-Crossout Day Drone locations + Favourite Drone and Reward!

Not because of that. True reason is that younger and impatient players do not like obsolete and tedious grind WITH NO OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE GAME. Even now it’s grinding drones and maybe that one favourite drone. I’d say that they also have short attention span but this is not the reason — Fortnite is pure PvP and kids love it. In games like GTA and Minecraft one can do both PvP and PvE. They aren’t the pinnacle of game developing, but it’s much better than grind here just to grind some “kewl” weapon to fuse it for further grinding or relics and whatnot. This game has no end content and little to no mid-content.

And, of course, “mature” audience is mature in name only.

Oh we can definitely agree on that.
But by mature I meant age, literally… Those who might be used to the old ways…

Even though the gamers I know rarepy play novadays they prefer calm and peaceful games, either PvE or sandboxes.

And these are mature people… mostly.

I can tell that XO certainly won’t attract any minors, but it won’t attract most of the seniors either. This grind feels like work. A work without rewarding. The game desperately needs more content. I can tell that even if EA is trying to sell themselves out to someone, the game industry is in deep… The Deep. XO may have its playerbase but how long will it stand with its whale support? I’ve spent some dough here: 13 packs and all BP excluding Founders. That is enough supporting from my side. In the end I stopped believeng there will be any global changes. And I’m not sure that the game hook enough players deep enough to keep the flow.

Well, I do feel rewarded when I finally grind out something I want… But I do agree that it’s not really that same feeling like other games can give you.
But that is just why I like some hard to get things that not everyone can have, like the hubcap… I feel rewarded and lucky or happy to get it. It’s not aa weapon, it’s not game breaking… It’s based on luck so it’s like a fun lottery… I understand someone might not, but I like that.

Yes, it really needs more content…

To each their own, and that one small hubcap isn’t a gamechanger indeed. But that “uniqueness” may be the last straw for some players. Not today, not tomorrow. But some day.

Double edged sword… yeah… While someone getting lucky may find his love for the game revived and keep playing, I agree that someone spending a lot of time to get it and NOT getting it, may say f*ck it, I’m out if he was already close to leaving.

Back to the locations: I think it’s random for the whole map. I can find a drone literally everywhere (in each part of the map, but with fixed locations). The most productive route is to search every corner and hope for the best where “the best” means 3 drones per battle.

This also increases your chances of finding baloon drone, if RNG has blessed your match, that is.

Is the balloon drone a hoax? I don’t know one person on Xbox who has this, and I’m max level (22) on the event and have most of the spawns memorized. I usually play this event with friends, and we call out drone locations as well.

I don’t think it is, but I am suspecting that either one spawns as a 4th drone during a round, and that 4th drone is only visible to 1 person to whom it spawned, or that one of the regular drones appears as a regular drone to all other players except the one to whom the favorite drone “happened”, and that it won’t spawn for a whole bunch of people at once.

But I have never seen anyone get excited in chat about the favorite drone when calling out drone locations. But the hubcaps exist, and they are very crossout 7 years themed, and Caligari does mention the favorite drone in game and straight up says that if you find it, you’ll get a reward

But there is something weird going on with the specific hubcap/hubcaps in general in the exhibition, for example it is an untradable item, yet you can see buy and sell options (greyed out but still visible) when you right click the part, that usually don’t appear at all when right clicking on parts that you can’t trade, like any other untradable hubcap. And in the exhibition, searching builds by hubcaps alone does not show any results, even if a build was using said hubcap

This is a pretty good theory. And I can buy it. It’s actually a good idea so they keep the rarity, instead of it spawning for everyone and someone calling it in chat and in no time, everyone has one.
They obviously wanted to keep it unique.

I really think this is true. Also explains why once I picked up one, I never found it after that again. Simply wont spawn for me again.

Drone map 003
Because these are different locations, the drones can’t appear differently to different players, i.e., everyone sees the secret drone as such.
In MudnBeer’s screenshot, you can also see _d0bermann _, who appears to be collecting the secret drone. d0bermann’s guide shows the Closed Circle hubcap as unlocked. Given how rare the drone is, we can assume they both collected it at the same time, which means that it doesn’t disappear after one player collects it, and it’s also visible to more than one player (hence, e.g., having the highest score isn’t required to see it).
Although I once saw a player going south through the passage in the center of C8 leaving a trail of ‘drone stars’ behind, as if they’d just collected a drone. Those stars disappear too quickly for that to have been the drone at B7. And I didn’t see any drone at C8, and, IIRC, not at B7 as well. So maybe the secret drone was there, but I wasn’t able to get it. Perhaps it can be collected by several players at the same time, but it soon disappears? Or it’s sometimes invisible altogether?
There’s also some ‘blue flash’ phenomenon that I once saw on the road in D9, but that was probably from a player loading in. A few horizontal parallel light blue streaks in the air, so not from an EMP perk flash.

More leaked info: 2 to 3 drones per battle, 8% chance of the secret drone appearing. The source for this data is the same as the previous 6 or more leaks I’ve posted on the forum in the last 6+ months, all of which were later confirmed in official Crossout news posts. But in this case, the value of 8% is obviously wrong. Reportedly, one Russian player found the secret drone after nearly 1000 attempts, each taking around 1 minute. So this must be a bug, which we can’t expect to be fixed. So you’ll either have to forget about the hubcap, or keep going for hundreds of attempts, and still possibly for nothing.

What I do is check the 8 belt and the remaining four locations, and out in around a minute. As for the stupids shooting at me - at least I know who’s definitely not getting the hubcap.

This isn’t the first time Targem has shown negligent treatment of players with respect to event rewards:

  1. In October 2021, Operation Ashen Ring was ended 3 days 18 hours early, with no prior notice. I was busy editing and uploading videos to my YT channel about Crossout, and the reward I got for all the effort was missing out on event rewards, just because I relied on official information.
  2. IIRC on 2022.01.03, the Secret Santa event was ended a whole 14 days early. Some may have been crafting or buying higher-tier items to improve their performance in the event raid, and it would have thus been for nothing.

It looks like the developers messed up badly with the secret drone and they don’t care to fix the issue. A new player can get the hubcap on the first attempt, as soon as they can access the brawl, and someone who’s been playing for years may not get it at all. Note that a level in this event costs 10 points to unlock, and you can only get the fixed amount of 25 a day. It looks like there was a more complex method for earning these points, but it was abandoned in favor of a simpler one.

If this is how much Targem respects the players, maybe you’d want to reciprocate, e.g., by throwing a D1M (a dice with 1 million sides) the next time you’ll be considering spending money on the game. They deserve a fair chance.

You can also report the bug here, by clicking “I have same issue!” at the top.

I am ragequitting looking for this drone, the hubcaps are not worth all these games where you know the locations of all three drones but can’t get them on time because people either shoot or push you away from the drone or straight up just camp near it with turrets or sparkvester builds. No more playing this mode religiously for me I’m out, only daily 7 drones for me from here on out

On the patch notes from the update that “secret santa” was added, the developers actually told us that “secret santa” would “expire” 14 days before the rest of the event because they would add the daily brawls…

They can’t run more than 2(or 3, I don’t remember at the moment) temporary battles at the same time due to how the “world map” works, it was the same reason ashen ring was ended early, because “witch hunt” and “ashen ring” occupy the same “battle slot” in a sense, and to run both of them, they would need to totally revamp how the “world map” works

Then why they dont explain it to the players to this time? Still no drone btw. Still trying everyday. And still devs say nothing to it. Questions over questions…
