Not really. Crossout has Waderkvarn which is essentially a self-contained gigantic complex. Dawn Children are Waderkvarn scientists so it checks out.
It’s reliable because there isn’t alot of parts in the first place. Same reason why i still see Ladas in my city sometimes; some clocking over 300k km. Cheap, easy to fix and isn’t mechanicaly complex. Meanwhile twin turbo automatic lifted trucks in America break after first few dozen k miles and the repair will cost you an arm and a leg lol
You theoretically can create something sci-fi and simple, hovers are in principle just “throw a ball at the ground, it bounces back, if it bumps into you it will lift you slightly”, aka repulsors. Simple enough
Also something of note, there are a few examples of people building something really complex in their backyard. One of the records for boat speed record was took by a guy that built their boat in the backyard (from fiberglass as far as i remember?). You can look up the footage on Youtube of an actual jet engine built by a few dudes in their garage. I’ve also seen a footage of a custom built 3d printer that had roughly 100 times the speed of a OEM one, also done by a dude.
AWP was created by two dudes in a shed… the list goes on.

You wanted to call it a skill issue, it’s not. You do have a comprehension issue, but imma leave that where it is. You’ve made no points, and the problems with the mode just got even worse. Now I’m the only high rank player with a bunch of lows that quit when they see high ranks on the other team. Outstanding fix, gaijin. All the low rank players see is the # of sweats per team, and I’m worth 3 sweats, apparently…. Oh and way to remove the additional challenges. Please just get one thing right. They’ve done more damage control than fixing, which is just doing more damage.

So, to make the R&D challenge “Earn 10 MVP, Unyielding or Assistant patches” less sucky, I have devised a strategy to earn the Assistant patch in R&D mode.
I earn many Assistant patches playing Turrets and Wheeled drones which do not exist in R&D mode. Get the Scrap has no time limit to earn an assist. An enemy you damaged in the first 30 seconds but dies 4 minutes later still counts as an assist. R&D mode has a 15 second time limit after which you will not earn the assist. Lousy brain-dead allies leaving the almost dead enemy sit there to rot until much later and you fail to get the assist for an enemy you almost murdered, but his allies shot you in the back. So, you earn the 40-point minimum, the enemy dies eventually, but you get no assist, which causes you to earn the patch much more slowly.
So my plan is to earn 7-9 kills in Back on Patrol, switch back to R&D and finish the patch. Then return to Patrol and get 7-9 kills again. I have earned some MVP but more Unyielding, but Assistant is the easiest to earn in regular PVP.
