See this build here this is one of my least used builds. Needs to be updated since they reduced the size of the hovers but you get the idea. Back before devs broke it, it was one of my least used builds it got 2 adapters and 2 porcs and i find this boring to use. If i find that boring to use I sure ain’t as hell gonna enjoy goofing around a triple parser hover build. I do enjoy variety i like it so much in fact that i only use 2 porcs with other weapons to keep things interesting in stead of just running a straight all out porc build, Trust me i ain’t gonna find straight up shotties and hovers fun. and i don’t need to try it to find out. I find hover punishers/ scorpions and porcs boring let alone shotgun hovers
the variety in this game is 50% hovers if not more, 20% wheels, 15% legs and everything else is 15%. prob less, the variety is highly is highly on the side of hovers.
oh your on ps4. Dudes on pc is hardcore good so you ain’t playing same game as me after all. I use ps5 controller so i’m at huge disadvantage.
They have guys in top clans on PC that use controller to play.
No one is arguing that controls are not as good as keyboard and mouse. But it’s not a night and day difference people try to make it out to be.
I kinda wish the self-proclaimed non-tryhard players stopped commenting on what is viable or not endgame, ngl. Especially if they use the new easymode controls that take away 50% of the benefits of using hovers, duh.
If you think hovers are fine, you haven’t played enough CW. If you think hovers are “weak” and “overnerfed”, then holy shit you are in a real need to l2p.
And yes, shotguns on hovers is a build you see every match now in CW. Maybe because they switched the Breakers perk from a tanky melee one to a snipey hover perk too? Yeah that didn’t help.
That’s… There are other players who have game design notions and realize what’s going on… I’m speechless… Glad you stopped simping for hovers OwO
“but my hovers die to melee waaah they’re weak” guess why everybody who wasn’t a hover was playing melee < ’ >_< ’ >
While I am not sure if the troll was trying to disparage me or others, I do agree with his premise that hovers were harder to use well than other parts. The majority of players lacked the ability to control them well and evade dogs.
Good hover players will still stand out over others but on the whole, hovers (woth new controls) are now much more user friendly.
not really, hovers were broken op because they were introduced as probably the heaviest p2w item in the history of the game. then some 3 months later they were nerfed some and the hover vs dog meta was born.
sure hovers have always been op against your random noob build, but since that very first hover vs dog cw meta it was always a hover vs dog/sometimes spider meta. and this other side of the meta was equally op compared to random garbage, i.e. the rest.
and hovers have always been on the more skill demanding side of said meta.
my tryhard time was spent about 50/50 as melee then as hover player. (ranged) hovers are harder to play well in cw, also compared to the spider tank gameplay. it obviously wasnt hard to own noob builds with op small hovers in low ps.
hey, thats cyberbullying! but also, i had the same thoughts about the new controls.
i suspect the devs wanted to make the new controls mandatory despite the test server excuse. this actually made me change my mind on pc console crossplatform. i believe its happening and im sure its going to be hilarious.
i wouldnt be surprised if they killed the old school control scheme in favor of balance between pc and console further down the line. it would also explain how they made hovers this op, they were assuming the dummy control scheme would nerf them enough.
well thats just mean and dumb.
I agree here. About 50% of my CW builds are dogs and about 50% are hovers for sure, because you needed both because one counters the other.
Again, I guess hovers must have been hard for you to come up with this.
Everyone I have played CWs with always thought Hovers where the easiest.
Old hovers - can’t flip, don’t lose all power when you hit something, fly over cars instead of hitting and stopping, fly over acid lakes, have a height advantage, can move in all directions, pretty much instant top speed, and more.
If that is not easy mode then I guess I don’t know what easy mode is.
Just because you slap a cannon on top does not make it skill. Peekaboo hovers was/is the cheesiest non-skill stuff in game. Peek, shot, hide, repeat.
I honestly don’t find anything in Crossout hard.
Building is most likely the hardest thing in game, and even that I find easy.
What we can agree on is that “you” find hovers hard and skilled.
Today I’ve been playing an ML200 build around 16kPS, and I’m definitely not seeing this hover dominance in PVP.
Overall, I’d say it’s between 1/3 and 1/4 hovers, the rest ground builds. There were a few matches where one team was pure hovers, but they were always obviously a group (same clan tags and/or paint).
Overall, leg acceleration isn’t horrible, but the initial ramp up from stop seems unnaturally slow, and is the biggest issue for me in their current state.
Pvp is a pretty unreliable way to compare balance, as the level of players and builds vary greatly. In CW, you KNOW the other team has doppler. They have communication. At areas of similar ranks, you have equality on build and skill. Hovers grossly outnumber other builds. Dogs have been neutered and spiders can’t turn or move quickly enough anymore.
Prior to the big update, Playstation had a pretty equal mix of hovers, spiders, and dogs. We need to buff spiders and dogs a bit to get back to that balance.
I’m not convinced CW is the best place to make balance judgements from.
All the things you list, plus the 4v4 format, make it a completely different beast from PVP. But PVP is definitely the majority of the game, at least in terms of where more players are spending most of their time.
There are tons of tactics that can be very effective in PVP that would never work in CW. Doesn’t mean those weapons/items/cabs need to be buffed.
Would you not agree to determine balance, you need to compare parts using equally skilled players and teams? Shouldn’t bots be excluded from the results (at least crossout programed bots)?
It doesn’t have to be CW but it would have to be a ranked mode to determine equality in matchups. Pvp is WAAAAY too random. I spend much of my time simply laughing at the stupidity of builds and players
Well, the wasteland is kind of random, so shouldn’t that be the standard?
Thankfully I’m not seeing too many bots in PVP lately, and hopefully that continues. Should their performance be included when considering balance? Ideally no, but it’s probably good to keep an eye on their scores just to make sure nothing weird is happening.
Edit: I think balance decisions should be made based on large amounts of data, not specific scenarios.
It seems all the “balance” conversations are around “x + hover”.
I am tired of hovers. I don’t think I am going to play anymore unless they come up with a special game mode “no hovers”.
Then all the hover lovers can hoover each other off.
Just when i thought hovers couldn’t get any worst it actually did. I was just playing 2 hours straight at 13k and the games was literally 75% hovers. Guarantee their is one scorp hover with either a helios, aspect or punisher hover next to him I’m so sick of seeing it too and this ain’t even clan wars where hovers is prob more prevalent still. Crossout ain’t gonna retain new players when all they sees is the same old swarm of flying junk boxes match after match.
I’m definitely not seeing that on PS4. Spent most of yesterday afternoon playing a spider at 16kPS, and I would say hovers were about 1/3 of the builds. Sure, some matches were almost all hovers on one team, but those were obviously groups. I also played an equal number of matches with no hovers.
Usually it was pretty mixed.
Down around 10kPS there were even fewer hovers.
It is weird though: when I was playing a hover myself last week, it seemed like there were more other people playing hovers too. Maybe a lot of us got our update experimenting out of the way already?
will me and pehenry is seeing it and feeling it on pc so your gonna have to switch to pc if your the seeing is believing type. Pehenry only uses armored tracks so I can only imagine how he feels about this update, can’t remember seeing him use any other movement part. Before update if I had to make an accurate guess i would say 50% of players was using hovers, it was actually that high on pc before the update alone but now in regular pvp i would say an accurate guess is now 75% of people are actually using hovers. I play at ps ranges from 13k to 17k and you could catch a small break once in a while from hovers before update at the lower power scores but now there is simply no hope what so ever. Over here on pc it is non stop hovers in your face. If this game ever goes cross platform you might finally realize just how bad the problem is over here.
I’m not calling you a liar, just describing what I’m seeing on my platform in my region.
I don’t really care much though. Build diversity is a good thing, but I have no problem fighting hovers.
no build diversity here on pc never was, all you see is the same copy and paste clan war hover builds. Before update it was down to firedogs, retcher dogs, breaker spaced armored wedges and variety of hover builds but now it is all just plain old hover builds with a scattered firedog or mandrake user proving support for the hovers once in a while.
