Aaaaannnd another one.
I’ve considered various weapons on both platforms. Ultimately, I want them to make some sense. As a result, the submarine has a Cham mk 2 and a Verifier for anti-sub detection; Pyralid or Pyre torpedoes, and Trombone vertical launch missiles. I might get a Nest and make some room to use that with the Pyres, too.
The corvette is built to accept pretty much any combination of various pewpews as long as you’re not too regarding when it comes to wielding points. Just don’t broadsid people with heavy recoil guns.
I’ll probably slap them in a custom mode.
I decided to get another Jockey, and see how it’s doing since they updated it’s rap-sheet.
I always liked the looks of this cab, but it was one of the most difficult cabs to use, under-performed, and was a bit of a disappointment. I’m finding it to have improved quite a bit, and is finally usable, at least at low power-scores, where I’m sure it’s intended to be used. I think it fits in pretty good now, and I like the perks they gave it.
I got MVP with that Jockey, and it was only intended to be an homage to ExMachina. I did not expect it to be a very competitive build, but the popular melee-brick META in PVP at that power-score seems to be a soft target for those Owls, and the Jockey can take a bit of a beating. It did good brawling with those things. I was surprised.
It makes a good drone-boat at low power-scores, and I actually got Sidekicks to work with it.
So, it’s my new fuel-truck, and it handled that fuel-challenge in PVP fine.
And finally, in honor of the Mobile-Home Contest, my camper…it doesn’t camp though, it brawls.
It brawls pretty well too. Initially, I had built it on wheels…but the legs…those legs. Having built it with wheels, and then slapped the legs on, it really torqued the sci-fi out of it in a weird way, I think. It’s like an alien hermit crab crawled into my truck or something.
I like it. I’ll probably tinker with it’s paint and decor, and make it more rustic, but I thought I’d gloss it up a little for pictures first.
Anyway, I like what they’ve done with the Jockey. Thanks, devs. Please don’t break my shizznit anymore. I’m enjoying the game.
Agree on Jockey finally being usable for something other than looks.
Now I want to retry all the other special cabins. Bat works pretty good now as a baby harpy, and I just picked up a hot rod this week that I haven’t tried yet.
Just realized I have a carapace that I haven’t used forever, and now it has a reload perk. I’ve got to try that soon too.
Since I like the naked cab builds, I’m wondering if this “special” category of cabs is better suited for it now. Blue cabs are a bit too fragile, probably, white cabs linger in the PVP queue for too long, and the purple cabs tend to get dispatched to a corner of the wasteland where the guns are really too viscous to be running about naked. But, teal cabs might be ticket, with their higher durability and perks to lean on.
I too will try a few other “special” cabs to see how that plays out. If I can pull it off, the results should be that classic Crossout experience I’m looking for; the one you see in the advertisements and posters. That’s the game I’ve been trying to play since I started. I had some luck with that in the beginning, but it’s been a rough ride, and when 2.0 came out, my inventory and play-style was devastated. I’ll be glad to get back into it, if they’ll let me…and I can figure out how to do it.
Crossout: Best game I ever hated.
Love the air-ship theme.
I threw this together with just 29 pieces, took it out once into PVP, and got MVP. I’m thinking the special cabs are good for running naked.
I’ll need to try another teal cab. I think I might like this gig.
I thought maybe I was seal clubbing, but the only thing on this rig that’s above the cab’s pay-grade is the Legendary paint and hubcaps. Just got lucky? IDK. I’ll be happy to try it again.
I decided to try the Carapace, because I already had one, you mentioned it, and I don’t have some of the other teal cabs, or I don’t have proper gear to compliment them (no pew-pew). But this, between its reload perk and the KA-1 Discharger, has surprisingly good synergy with the Junkbows. It seemed fast enough with the fused Dun Horse (Like 70kph), but I’m sure that could be an issue…it wasn’t though. It has it’s weakness, but it was fun and simple, and it worked. This cab goes well with the KA-1.
The ice cream truck. No idea why I call it that. It’s once again a modified build, the original being Drone Dog by BluBird122. The original is a triple annihilator small track the call daze hot red chameleon, but I can’t afford a lot of those things so I made a for fun build. Boobstrap generator, Cheepah engine, one Annihilator one Yo Guy, chameleon doppler daze hermit wheels the call cabin.
Nothing too good but also very good at annoying and disrupting the enemy, currently my go-to fun build when I just want to have some fun and not care about doing good or bad
I run Jockey on many of my lower PS builds. Exposed, not exposed… it’s a nice all-rounder.
I like it… Usually, when I’m looking at an art-build like that, all I can see are the constituent XO pieces. That’s not the case with the aircraft carrier.
Nice staging! That’s half the battle!
This started long ago as Charlie’s “Hold my Bear” build.
I’m not sure any of the original remains other than the cab & basic format. Most of the parts have been swapped out for better ones. The goal of his build was to make it “EAB” - efficient, affordable and beginner friendly.
My build isn’t that.
MY goal for it is a low PS daily driver I can use for those annoying weapons challenges. Low PS so the matches are fast so I can knock those challenges out quickly.
I’ve been slowly modifying it with parts with “super resistances” like those mounting brackets with 50% pass through.
The weapon mounting positions are such that I can put three autocannons on it or four shotguns, machine guns or mini-guns. So, it’s a very versatile build.
With the resistance parts & general configuration, it’s also rather tanky for its PS. Unless I’m at the bottom of the PS in the queue, it’s an MVP machine - believe it or not. Even when I’m at the bottom of the PS spread, it does well.
I painted it up to highlight the different parts. It’s normally in something less hideous & easily spotted.
I decided to go try and pick up some of the slack on my f2p account.
I’ve set my sights on a Catalina, because I need something fun to grind raids with, and I feel like that’s the perfect cab for raids. It’s a fun cab, and it rocks raids.
But, because I needed something fun to grind PVP with, in order to get that Catalina, I blew some coins on paint, so I’d have something nice to look at while I did that. It’s probably going to be a long drive.
I’m starting this grind at 1.6k in coins. That’s about half way there on PC. The Catalina is going for around 3k.
It’s easy to complain about the battle passes (I do), but when I fire up this f2p account, then I realize how much stuff they actually give away for free. I think there’s some good stuff in there to be had, completely free…Thanks, Devs.
LOL
I’m assuming you have those on different triggers, right?
Little 4200ps slugger
Ya, the cannon is separate.
It shreds those challenges though. Almost every time I take it out, it levels up something. I’m almost caught up on the Singularity BP already.
It gets mauled in PVP, but it MVPs Patrols all day if I try. Which is were I’m doing most of my catch-up detail on all those challenges.
Did they nerf the bots back to how they were, or are they only this soft at low PS?
On topic:
I couldn’t manage to get a proper bid on the green flare. The market(PC) kinda sucks.
I had to buy the groovy headlamps.
But, I can’t keep blowing my my dough on bling, or I’ll never get that Catalina. I can’t help it. We needsed it.
I think I’m done buying crap now though, probably.
Looks like it’s going backwards.
