Sick and tired of the face hugging playstyle

i am sick and tired coming across these brain dead face hugging builds who contribute nothing to the team except frustrating the hell out of their own team mates for their own benefits. countless times i have come across these moronic builds on battlewalker legs CONSTANTLY face hugging people and enemies and constantly blocking team mate fire just so they can hog the entire enemy for themselves.

the builds who do this the most are the battlewalker legs because of their stupid height advantage.
another issue i come across is heli builds. im not joking when i say helis are constantly getting in the way. and before someone posts a stupid comment like “find another position to fire from” no, i wont because it doesnt matter. i am not going to go in and put myself front and centre for 8 enemies to blow my brains out just because some idiot in a dunce car with wings cant play a heli the way hes supposed to. unless your saying to run in, run into the guy so he loses his heli and chuck HIM face first into the enemies so he gets killed first and takes all the damage, then that i can do.
that aside though heli users have been constantly getting in my way on purpose. there would be enemies in the wide open but then you have some heli user with brain damage flying at wheel and leg height for no reason other then to be a massive irritation.

also dinos NEED to have their jumping ability removed permanently. i am sick and tired of fighting these brainless builds who do nothing but jump around like a frog with brain damage.
these builds also face hug people to. they slap on shotguns like tritons or melee weapons and just chase you down till they are up your rear and in your face like they are shooting the next horror movie.

the frustrations of this game keep growing for me and im growing tired of the constant team sabotaging, the denial of team mates allowing you to help defeat an enemy and the constant frog jumping of these stupidly over tanky BWL builds. this is exactly why i said team mate fire should pass through your allies to prevent crap like that from happening.

but i guess the devs are to busy with shilling out tons of broken and overpowered weapons for their power tripping, toxic reddit moderators who contribute nothing to this game except toxicity and an ego trip. they dont care about the state of the game apparently and its showing.

why do people keep playing this game again?

its the only people who enjoy playing mechs or helis, what can you expect
just shoot them until they get out of your way, thats all you can do

except they dont care. alot of them dont move and instead move to face the direction they are being shot at to block shots.

in a game like this, is it to much to expect people to act like team mates instead of dunces trying to hog everything to themselves? is it to much to ask for them to help the team instead of blocking team fire?

you want a perfect example of why dinos need to have their ability removed? they are the only leg or ground based movement part in the game with a massive height advantage. this means for missiles, and the last event i was in with those legs a while back, there were people with tons of missiles and our team had nothing but guns, these people spent the entire match jumping up and down with us barely being able to hit them while they spammed missiles on us with our team being unable to counter them so we had no choice but to tank the damage or quit.

for the helis they have the entire sky to fire and attack from, so why on earth are they getting in the way of ally fire? i can answer that, cause they are jerks, plain and simple.

because its the only game out here that has friendly peeps,easy to play,build ur own ride.[ FTP ]…

your forced to play those…i love helis in patrol its fun…

i do hate Mechs, they get in the way when ur shooting the enemy ie moving side to side so u cant shoot…get rid of mechs n hovers n op new weps(too many weps in this game btw) and we get crossout again…

Worst play style by far to fight are Sniper Hovers.
But yeah once touched in crossout its GG. You physically can’t move for starters.

It’s coming to a point where the games sooo dead, the grind gets longer. Que times are always ridiculous. Fight nothing but P2W groups as a solo quer.
But, only solution is full Crossplay.
But that would have to mean buffing console aim assist. By alot.

If there was anything else like crossout I’d probably be gone.

im just sick of the “hold forward and fire button till they die, next target” mentality. even when im in matches and someone runs into me, youd think they would stop right? nope. cause holding forward is all they know. so my build is shoved right into the enemy or enemy fire forcing me to take damage because apparently mech legs can move mountains and moons with how much power they have.
its so ridiculous that THIS is the mentality of the game now.
on top of this tengus need a hard nerf to. apparently when they hit a team mate while boosting forward they have an unbelievable amount of push to them. if your in a light build youll be pushed quite far. even medium builds suffer from this to. i got hit with it on my 6 sleipnirs and i was shoved for quite the distance to on a medium build.
i get that medium and heavy builds especially have alot of power to them but this is just ridiculous at this point. sabotaging your own team mates seems to be the whole motto of crossout now.

this would absolutely kill whats left of crossout without a doubt. computer players have far more advantage then those of ps4 / ps5 / xbox players. i refuse to use aim assist cause its incredibly lazy to just auto aim at someones weapons and take them off with the aim of a bot. i prefer skill over laziness.

a game like crossout where the devs actually cares about their player base and not the whiny, snotty, toxic reddit man children? CANT POSSIBLY EXIST!! /s
i wish something like that existed. if it did id be out of here. im just tired of all the nonsense from the devs. ungodly amounts of fomo, p2w garbage, battlepasses, mini battlepasses and predatory microtransactions. the devs should be ashamed of themselves but the toxic wallet warriors keep paying so its not like they care.

teammates are enemies in blue in most online games, and in crossout these people are even bigger NPCs than usual.
you would think its not that hard to do the most basic “teamwork” like not fucking over your teammates, but clearly these players are just different

i think the only actual solution is to fix the game, which is easy to say but the devs have an insane mentality and view of the game, they really fucked it up the last few years.

how could someone think that rampant p2w is a great long term way to make money?
they probably didnt, they expect the game to die and they will just move onto another shitshow that people somehow dont feel mental spending real life money on

I think alot of playstyle is based upon the weapons you’re using. For short-ranged weapons like shotguns, flamethrowers, non-tracking rockets like cicadas, you have to be up close to score hits. Long-range weapons are a bear to use unless your target isn’t moving. Usually I play alot of shorter- to midranged-weapons, but I make an effort not to ram teammates or steal kills. I know I play my best at teamplay when using incinerator-equipped copters; I can see which teammates need help and torch their target. Maybe they’re cut off from the team and are being surrounded, so I help 'em out.

Even in brawls, like the current impulse event…my car has 3 toadfish on it; I’m set up good. Yet, if I see a guy on the enemy team with almost no points because he has a crap build, I don’t treat him as an easy kill and will give him a chance to nuke me first. I’m happier with myself giving an underpowered guy a chance, as opposed to running rampant over everyone. Maybe I’m a wierdo softie, but giving another player a chance to have fun is all the win I need.

i played the impulse brawl once and never tried it again. the entire match some power tripping no life was stalking me and killing me at every turn no matter where i went. i was in a wheel build and id get instantly killed. i scored no points either. thats part of the reason i dont play pvp, cause of people like that.

then explain to me why i see people with CYCLONES and long range weapons like mgs and cannons face hugging enemies like they are running a shotgun build…

never give up in the events…
you can finish them…
its not hard at all for anyone…

it is when you have some no life who wont stop stalking and harassing you all match…

speaking of this a guy in game did exactly what i mentioned above to me. kept running into me shooting at me and boosting at me to throw me off or cost me the match by not letting me get points. i was using tracks so i was slightly slower then him but far more maneuverable. guy scored nothing all the while trying to grief me, though he didnt manage to cause i was better at outmaneruvering him lol. i did score enough for rewards though and he sat with a big fat 0 and a report for griefing.
some people are just so sad and pathetic.
i was using my jotun build to. luckily i know how to maneuver it pretty well. the problem is though that when he boosted into me he could really move me so i used by brakes to throw him off.
he was so pathetic, following me around wherever i went, constantly running into me trying to pin me against walls, etc.
i find it so irritating how much power tengus have, they should not be able to budge another build or stay still with a build running 6 sleipnirs pushing them. thats so unrealistic its stupid. i dont care if its on a heavy cabin or not thats just ridiculous.
though i did find it mildly entertaining that the sad man child couldnt outmaneuver a track build lol.

Next step is fun. It’s like missions of old times

what weapon do you use?

Battle walkers
Nowadays days are rare the battle walkers that doesn’t have a car jack, doesn’t pay off knock them on their asses anymore, better to link up with a team mate that you trust and run with him ( i’ve got a few and by this time they already noticed that, they usually come for me when we are in opposite teams ).
Their height advantage is no novelty, we always had something in legs…since forever
Tritons and melee walkers and heavy walkers better to keep a distance anyways they can hit you in angles that your build isn’t prepare to take it…
Even I, my builds are melee proof and i stay at distance shooting at them or trying to mess them up if they are light or medium cabs and if it’s a 2 vs 1, a walker can’t shoot 2 different targets at the same time.
It’s up to you where you put your armour.

Helis

My build ( Bruiser ) is pretty good against Helis general speaking, but some are my kryptonite, they usually come down to ram, to be closer to what they think will be an orb ( an orb it’s points, more than the kill itself ) and in my specific case they came to break my weapons, nowadays they are much more beefier.

OP weapons…well… i usually go for manageable targets, or try to out turn their weapon’s tranverse speed running in tight circles around them or even lock with them in a merry go round, or i simply try to ram them into submission or flip them upside down. or even better, a combination of all the above
I say manageable target, i use special weapons… if i meet a cannon heavy build e.g. it will take time to chew him up and that will leave me open to attacks .

Being in patrol or in the next step it’s the same

you just need a strong build, and a taste for brawling :slight_smile:
There will be games that you won’t do much, cause team mates blocking the orbs, OP weapons, you run into your hard counter and so on…but that will happen in pretty much any mode





legs like the ml-200s did have a height advantage but not to the length of the walkers. they can also lean their builds forward to where as leg builds cant unless you innovate.

my build in low ps is a fast build with 2 triggers and often times i can deal alot of damage to flyers since triggers aim a bit higher then youd expect and can also hit pretty far due to the fusion for extra distance. helis have trouble hitting me at times due to my speed and i dont usually let them get away. if they attack me then i go straight for them and boy do some wish they havent gone for me. some think triggers are weak but say that when im exploding your aircraft for 400+ damage in explosions lol.

my only weakness is BWL builds. but since the growl got nerfed i expect it to be worse. i used my high speed to avoid attacks and dance around leg builds since it is somewhat effective. if things are going wrong i can book it and due to my high speed they usually cant keep up. but idk how thatll fair now.

I still have armour against ground builds, i could move it to armour the top side but that would mean being open to ground builds, i made my choice
Against helis you could put some passive melee with a 20% to 35% ram damage on your top side e.g.

Guerridas and Centipede legs are worst i think…but then again…

Legs of yesterday had a speed limit, they were slow, newer legs they will go as fast as the cab and engine allows perks aside.

Next step isn’t all W, you have to think tactically
Another example, i never SD in missions before, now i’m SD all the time.

you are out of ammo or about to be, go to a far place in the map away from the fight or to your orb base ( if it is a superiority match ) and SD or block a team mate, honk at him ( normally he will wait to collect your orb ).
if you are taking plenty of damage, just run away, or if you just taken a lot of damage better to do the above.
If you are about to die and or no escape is possible or you and your team mate just lost a skirmish and you see a blue orb near you just go for the blue orb, that way if you collect the orb, the enemy will collect only one instead of two.

That being said…
Sometimes you just have to give up on a skirmish, the opponent it’s too strong, he will win, he will take your orb, you did some damage, stop doing damage… the trick is make him believe he can carry on after you and not do what i told you above, he will be a soft target for a team mate of your’s, or for you, the next time you meet him.

I think its a balancing problem:

  • Lancelots are ok, instand death but they are single use. It’s basically trading 1:1, you are useless after loosing the weapons
  • Skinner and Flamethrowers burning someone down slowly is ok too, it takes a bit of time and someone can shoot the melee in the back
  • Tritons that allow for a build to just single tap kill someone and move on is too fast. Builds like that just move through enemies like paper and never have a moment of weakness.

I don’t mind melee builds, but they should have a viable counter. When I started playing quite some time ago, melees usually weren’t one-tap-kills, they had to stay in your face for some time and teammates could help out or you could get away. It just feels like current melees with tritons and similar things are massively overpowered, you just see them flash for a moment and you are dead.

There were builds with boosters and rams in the past, but they were so hard to control, that they felt balanced. You would see them shoot past you wildly swerving most the time and sometimes they get you. I can live with that. But Tritons are in perfect control, stay mobile, and one-tap you. That’s bad balance.
