Stop the .01 crap in the market, please, @ the Dev

I think it would be fantastic if it was made so that if a player is wanting to become the new highest buyout, or the new lowest sell price, it MUST be done at a 1% increase. So if someone puts a buy out at 2500, some troglodyte can’t come in and do 2500.01, they would have to do 2502.5 minimum. Now, if they wanted to do 2499.99, or 2500, that would remain the same. I know there will be a lot whinging toddlers who don’t like this idea, but I refrained from asking the 10% I really want to correct this sleazy practice.

I just place my bids in big enough increments to scare off the penny bidders.
If they keep following my bids with a penny, I change my bid by a few dollars (or a few dozen on more expensive items).

Of course if we get to a price range I’m not comfortable with, I’ll drop out of the bidding war and let them waste their coin.

I feel like the penny game mostly impacts other people who are also playing the penny game.

if youre annoyed by being outbid then set your price lower, pretty simple

PC market sucks.

I honestly don’t think that would work - there will always be people that will try to outbid you by the smallest amount possible. If you think that 2.5 coin (as per your example) would scare anybody off then you can already add it to your offer.

I would like to propose another potential approach (I mean, it’s probably a horrible idea but it just came to my mind so I didn’t give it much thought yet) - how about a time commitment. So after bidding on something, one could change the price only after set amount of time (the offer could still be canceled anytime but no new bid on the same item could be placed immediately after). Perhaps people would willingly place orders with much higher difference to avoid wasting time by scaring other potential bidders?

Dear troglodyte why are you such a sour looser… Even if we made it a 10% increase per bid you would clearly still be upset. Take a nap and think about it as we can tell your frustrated.

the market is full of market bots who watch 24/7 to control the bidding on the market place. its everywhere, especially with relics. its rather irritating to deal with.

How do people get market bots to work on console? I thought we were mostly immune to that?

i dont know but they must either have someone watching the market 24/7 or they have a market bot doing stuff. when i went to sell a typhoon before some bot i assume was trying to outbid me by a penny constantly. anytime id change the offer he would change his a few seconds later (10 seconds give or take). i waited a few minutes, 10, 30, 1 hour even 3 hours and it would be the exact same thing. everytime id change my bid he would underbid me by a penny. it only stopped when it got to a certain point, the instant i went above that they would under bid me by a damn penny.
i put in a selling bid for 30k and he wouldnt bid below that. if i went 30,000.01 he would go 30,000.00 even. i even waited 6 and 12 hours and the same thing happened.

That could be a bot, but you were also matching their bids, so they might also be human and assuming you’re a bot.
And the 30 000 might have been their own self-imposed limit, not something that was coded in there.
Is there a way to look back at bidding history and see how fast the bids were placed? There’s a certain speed where it would have to be a bot, but at the same time, someone trying to sell a relic for profit would be highly motivated to keep checking the market and reacting to your bids.

How is what they were doing significantly different from what you were doing?

not as far as i know. the thing is they were changing the bid within 10 seconds of mine being placed / changed. if i canceled my bid they would go right back to the highest before mine and lower it by a penny. this was going on for a while and even when i changed my bid hours later it was still the same thing, within 10 seconds he would lowball me by a penny.

If it’s always within ten seconds, that sounds pretty bot-like.

But I also enjoy the image of you and some other player watching the market listing like hawks, both equally driven to make that coin, both rushing to change your bids, equally convinced the other person is a bot.

And maybe they can get rid of the tax system heck got to pay tax for everything else in real life I don’t want to pay for it in a dam game also!

I’m pretty sure I saw you with a heli-mech in patrol last night.

If it was on console, and it was a gaudy pink and black striped thing, that was me.
Was trying to complete a bunch of BP challenges at once.
First time I’ve used a hornet on a build in years!
I’m going to remake that flying mech soon though. I like that it can complete all the weapon challenges, but using rare and common weapons in mid PS isn’t great, even if it’s just for Patrols.

I’m trying to unlock banners so I was playing drones. I hate playing drones, playing agianst them, on the same team. Can’t wait til I’m done. Yeah, I was on Xbox under WildHaugs.

Why are you trying to unlock banners? Just an assignment you gave yourself?

I also rarely play drones, but lately I’ve been having some fun with the new spider drones.
