All the proposed changes in the upcoming are acceptable, fine & good… Except there must of been some
serious vodka involved in the proposed change to strafing. This change will take a lot of the fun out of the
game and ruin all the pvp dynamics in Clan Wars and even Regular games. People will leave the game in mass
if this change goes through… please do not change current strafe mechanics Crossout Devs!!! unless you want
to intentionally kill the game!

The game will be fine. It will even be better if this trims a few of the top toxic players anyways.
P.S. I have full fused sets of red and blue hovers, I am a hover player, but this movement part has ruined the game for to long. It is time that us clan wars players put down the crutches and start to play on a fair battleground.

Listening to all the protests (“We’re all doomed. Doomed I say!”), it sounds like I might be about become a Wasteland baddass (but I doubt it, 'cause they’ll figure it out), because I didn’t have any problem making it work. In fact, I liked the way I could circle an opponent, keeping my cannons on him as I skirted around him. All I had to do was continually face the enemy and push “A” or “D”* and it took me in a circle right around him, guns hard on his mark. Wheels can’t handle that maneuver very well, and it’s easy as PI to execute under the new conditions on ML-200s.
I use a mouse and Keyboard (obviously), so if you’re using a stick, IDK. I suppose it could be bad news for thumb controllers, IJDK, but it works great on PC. It’s awkward to get used to, I thought, but this old dog thinks he can learn this new trick pretty quick. I think there will be some new disadvantages to deal with, but also some new advantages as well. The developers said as much, and after trying it, I think that’s true.
Maybe it’s time for me to give hovers another try. I thought those were tough before (never tried sideways), but now…IDK. Things are different. I bet the price tanks on them too since everybody feels like they’ve been destroyed, and I’ll be picking some up at a nice chunky discount, maybe.
*EDIT: “D” is for duh.
If they do this change, they will defiantly lose players that use hovers…which is probably half the Cw teams. How will that make the game?
Those that hate hovers will say good until they cannot get CW matches as their is only 3 teams playing at once in their league so you will have huge waiting times for the same 2 battles.
Hovers have already been nurfed big time so leave them alone.
I don’t have much experience with Hovers, so I was wondering if you tried the changes on the Test Server and you didn’t like it, or is your opinion based on the announcement’s description of the proposed change?
Here’s the way I suspect it will go. Sideways Hovers will no longer be a thing, but orthodox Hovers will need to be buffed to bring them back into competitiveness. When they do, and Hovers are no longer relying on an exploit to be used efficiently and competitively, they will become more widely used than they are now.
If they didn’t suck when you used them in an orthodox manner (and I think they do presently) I would use them. I don’t because I just don’t care to use exploits. Apparently the developers do see it as an exploit, but what could they do about it?
I’m not going to remap my controls just to make Hovers competitive. I just don’t care that much, and am content to use something that works as prescribed rather than bother with a feature that has to be rigged to function. If it was cooler I might, but sideways Hovers just aren’t very cool IMO. I’m not going to cross the street for that, but that’s me…I also think it’s a lot of other people too.
I don’t think the developers are going to just destroy hovers, but they needed this modification in place in order to make orthodox Hovers function. They couldn’t just buff Hovers to make them usable in an orthodox fashion, because when you then went and turned them sideways (and everybody of course would/did) they would be OP.
I think the potential to improve hovers might only be possible through the change they are proposing. I also think that if Hovers suck after this update, they will just buff them…or de-nerf them, because ya, they have nerfed the hell out of Hovers, but I think that was necessary due to the popular exploit. Once that is gone, maybe people will be able to use them as they were intended to be used.
I need to try them for myself on the test server, but they really aren’t my thing. Maybe in the future they will be. I know I would like them better if they functioned without the exploit. I think other people might too.
I played it, its horrible, they know the controls are shit so they made the hovers speed based on the cabs top speed the driving makes you nauseas and its just unintuitive check some yt vids on the changes.

I agree. I know many people who use hovers exclusively and the strafing change is simply a game killer for them. Been playing for nearly 3 years now and have seen many changes to the game but this Movement change will be a deathblow to this game that has already lost a lot of people over the years. Why change something so drastically now after it has been in the game since almost its inception? Why piss off a huge swath of their core players? Will this be the end of Crossout?
Many things are good but all the changes of movement pieces are terrible, the lateral movement pieces no longer provide freedom of movement these changes force us to always look towards the front of the cabin, if we already play without complaining about the strafe why remove it now?
I beg someone to please try the “centre” key to see if it allows us to aim sideways and backwards like the description says.
I can’t take any of these “sky is falling” posts seriously when all of them seem to depend on this feature not working.
And as an aside, the vast majority of popular hover and spider builds box in their turreted weapons so much that they’re effectively limited angle anyway, so what is the big deal?
Every one talk about hovers but the problem is with all movement parts that can strafe : now with omni for instance you CANT go forward, aiming someone at your right while going straight, you will turn. You can counter the turn by forcing left input and go straight but now you cannot turn left while aiming to the right.
And if you want to shoot backward without turn you have to press T…
