Boo woo, hovers have ruined the game from the day they where added. Maybe it’s time other people could have fun.
You are wrong. Hovers are balanced, you just need to hold w to win against them.
I play all movement parts.
I have full sets of “fused” hovers and have multiple hover builds.
And I still think they need a nerf to sideways. The reason people take the time to fuse them is they are OP.
The new update is worse than the ddos attack
I agree Hovers must stay
Maybe devs may create legendary rarity will be great
People talk of loosing their ugly meta pwnage tool like it’s the end of the game. Yeah, cause game will die without toxic meta abusers, aha. Maybe it was dead because of guys like you?
Makes me wonder, devs could just rotate hovers like frontal wheels they introduced. That what I call an elegant solution, not those
Yeah, because we want more
Ugly unrealistic meta trash builds like dogs, screen armor, sideways track armor and the like.
Or just replace hover models with those that would have similar profile front and sideways so that it didn’t make building sideways so beneficial.
At least some people have sense.
Yeah it’s just another instance of hovers getting a buff and hover mains crying about it because they will need a few hours to adapt to the new controls.
i would love 4 meat grinders on all sides that would be amazing, your fix should be THE FIX sideways wheel build uuu
not making hovers basically obsolete with this new horrendous instability. dogs need a nerf not skill based parts, ml200 need a buff too, bigrams dom
It allows to switch between looking forward and backward, not sideways though.
When I read the changes they’re making to strafing parts, I didn’t believe it at first. So, I installed and jumped onto the test server for the first time ever! Lo and behold, it was true…
I like the more “realistic” suspension/hover tilt and steering, especially on legs. I could also get used to changing around the SD and QE keys’ strafing controls; it’s more like walking than driving, but the aim following the camera completely negates the point of strafing. I guess it could work for fixed/limited angled weapons…
Devs, listen to the players; if there is ONE thing you need to revert from these physics changes, it’s the vehicle following the camera. At the very least, make it a toggleable key bind on strafing builds, maybe to the ALT key’s function?
Thanks!
So it’s just like a rear view mirror basically?
That’s excellent idea. There is pros and cons to both control schemes and they can easily implement this new scheme while also keeping the old one as well. No one loses everyone is happy. I was sceptical too about physics changes and bashing it before even playing it on test server but after playing test server I kind of like it. Looks more modern.
I think Icarus is still strong, what is really weakened is the wheeled car, which is less flexible and skidding. The levitator is faster, which means that the levitator can quickly evacuate after an extremely fast attack.
It seemed like to me some were worse (better) than others, but some of us like it better when they slip around a bit, and were frustrated when they did an update a while back that removed some of the drift from wheels. After that update, I couldn’t tell much of a difference from one set to the other. They all seem pretty stiff as it is presently.
This morning I got on the test server and ran builds with APC, Racing, and Camber wheels. To me the APCs were very stiff, and didn’t slip hardly at all. It wasn’t much different from the way they are live now, other than a little sway around corners.
When I put on Racing wheels, then I started to skid and slip during corners, and noticed a sound effect like tools or chains sliding around the boot for a slight moment during dynamic corning. It appeared to indicate the tires beginning to slip and release traction.
When I put on Camber wheels, they straight up peeled out of the garage, complete with squealing tires and smoke (it was pretty awesome IMO), and dynamic cornering seemed in line with their profile. They were drifting, and the duration of the sound of chains in the boot seemed extended to me, as if it indeed was an indicator of the tires demonstrating a loss of traction.
I’ll admit to having a very vivid imagination, so it would be worth testing yourself, and I wouldn’t mind a second opinion on that, but it is the way it seemed to me.
I welcome a bit more slip in traction with wheels, personally, and I enjoyed the increased feedback from terrain that the suspension was translating from corners as sway, slide, drift, or skid. It’s what I like about wheels; the tactile feeling of contact with surfaces, and the sounds and sensation of stress and release through corners in a good hot pursuit.
Thank you Doc. Very nice write up.
you’ve never had relics and never owned like 50% of the legendaries and you’ve never owned hovers but you think you’re opinions valid i dont think so
Hidden profile, 900 MVP and 570 Backstab. Very valid dude.
? this is my alt account that i use to just piss around in waste coins on weapons i wanna try ect my main is vandderrun
I hate this Forum format and promised I’d never use this trash place again but this FORCED Camera Control BS was too much to sit on my hands over. Its lazy hand holding that kills build diversity across MULTIPLE movement parts purely because “hOvErS wErE tOxIc aT iT.”
Forced CC controls are a huge mistake not even in relation to hovers. Don’t force this worthless handholding bs on us just for mounting specific movement parts. Throw it in the trash or make it optional. Preferably throw it in the trash.
doc savage tryhards the forums or something
Anybody stop to consider that maybe the developers are doing this for themselves? Maybe they are tired of screwing with trying to balance two sets of dynamics for the same problematic and high profile movement part at the same time; one for how they intended the part to be used and sold, and another for how people abuse them in the game creating all sorts of complaints and drama ever since they introduced them.
This fixes it. Good for them. Good for us too, I say.
