Pluralis majestatis?
The real question is why 10k gets matched with 15k…
I play 10k, get matched with 12-15k, play 9k, get matched with 12k, play 7k get matched with 5k…play 12k get matched with 8k… it makes no sense at all does it?
I was f2p for a long time. I ground out 5 relics. My first money spent was on a pack… just to play a different weapon because everything I could farm had to go into my CW build. (I mean for my first 2 relics)
I think the game (for me) then was more “pay for variety” because nothing was fused or limited (other than knight riders) in anything you bought. But then you could get crickets cheap for a starter CW build that would get you into ore.
As soon as they limited the crafting, started all the upgraded parts behind paywalls… yeah I agree it became P2W. It will only get worse.
At least they are not selling “Premium Ammo” for cannons yet.
edited for clarity i hope
It would make sense if we’re to assume there is not enough players left
The main balance problem is still hover
Tbh i should of been more specific, general speaking yes a lot of items work equally to each other, but it’s more epics up where the problem is,
Take for example the epic movement parts, generally speaking MLs, Bigrams, Wheels, augers, etc are all reasonably balanced to each other, all with their benefits and disadvantages, but then you take hovers (IV, and VII) Like wtf? It really makes the whole purpose of more content be useless through making 2 of the say 8 movement parts the only useful thing to do.
This point above, sure it might be the case in some scenarios, but when the game is locking the player into having to play this level to earn end game content, it needs to work to make it worth doing
And while yes a 4 sledgehammer can work in the ps you are at (I noticed 9k), you get higher and you realise some of the content that is BP exclusive just completely make your build useless, and the sad thing is you going to have to go up if you want the new content (and follow the purpose of the game of progression)
And a lot of this doesn’t even lock to just BPs, take packs with items like kapkan, cabins like - Deadman, Blight, Cockpit, etc where they open the door to better builds.
Again this isn’t coming from WANTING THEM, as i got them already. It’s coming from looking at the new player and understanding they got zero way to compete against this stuff. And to say “Well just buy it” no because it’s not just the buying of a single pack, you spend ridiculous money to get even the smallest of things so spend 100s to just get 1 working build
Yes, the excessiveness of one item destroys the diversity of the game, and the others become meaningless, I sent this yesterday in the advice
And if you’ve followed that path of game progression long enough, you’ll find out that it leads nowhere. Everything remains the same, whether you’re playing with items for which you’ve grinded yourself completely brain-dead for or emptied your wallet for, it turns out afterwards that it was pointless and that the game on lower PS with more accessible weapons is often more fun because there’s more variety. XO gameplay on higher PS doesn’t give you anything extra, it’s not a persistent world MMO or anything.
At most CW could be a target for high end stuff. But how many players actually play CW, is only a small group and most players who start it often stop quickly because, just like the rest of PvP content, it is very basic and simple and therefore extremely boring after a while.
I’ve had a more honest “paying” (“paying” for me is when you’re starting to reach 4 digits on this game, which is sadly pretty common) player tell me exactly this. basically “I’m tired after work and it’s normal that the game provides me with a way to freefarm people without trying while I down beers and watch TV”. Back when a grenadier goliath build was expensive, and at the top of the foodchain in PvP
Ultimately this is what it all comes down to. Yeah, there’s a part of skill involved. But go play against a whale Tin clan roaming in 4 fully fused paid relic builds with your f2p unfused epic build and tell me where you managed to squeeze your mad skillz.
This game is as competitive as any CCG has ever been. And anyone who played a bit of MtG knows it is 100% a greasy whale game lol.
Reading the last two posts back-to-back is kind of funny.
Tbh a part of the enjoyment are these fancier/higher tier gear. Like I am sure that when you look through the weapon list you see all the fancy weapons but most of them are useless.
This is what this whole thing was made about, because a lot of this content is made obsolete because of the imbalance of items.
How many people have said “I want to make a tank” but how often have these worked in pvp or even CW.
Yeah…
I see lots of tracks in PVP at a pretty wide range of PS brackets. They’re not necessarily great builds, but good enough that people keep playing them in significant enough numbers.
I did the last heavy cab challenge in pvp at 15k on a slow tracked Kaiju build 3/5 of the matches I was in the top 3 and didn’t lose a single match.
I mean I wouldn’t class a top 3 of basically a 4 player 4 bot to be worth it…
I think a lot of players are too obsessed with what items and builds are the best, to the point where they think anything that isn’t a bit OP is trash.
Yes, hovers are more versatile than tracks, but doesn’t mean you can’t perform well in PVP on tracks if you spend some time on your builds and learn how to drive them effectively.
Nope.
The fancier stuff just takes more practice to use.
For example, those sledgehammers I love, I love because they’re so stupid easy to use. Get close & hold the pew pew button. They take no brain power, no practice.
On the other hand, for the cannon daily, I use Assemblers. They’re largely hated and one of the weapons people repeatedly say is broken. It isn’t… It’s amazing.
The problem is that you have to practice using it to get any good at it. Here’s a recap on how it works… If you charge the weapon, it’s accuracy and damage increase dramatically. Likewise, the further you are from a target, the more damage it does. If you don’t charge it, it fires very quickly, is less accurate, and doesn’t do as much damage.
So, it’s complicated and hard to use.
it’s trash
Just NO
The time required to charge is faster than the reload time of most cannons, and it’s just as accurate without the parabolic drop of the projectile. So, it’s EASIER to aim. In that manner, it’s a fantastic sniper weapon.
It requires no ammo, so you don’t have to worry bit that big ole box of risk.
It doesn’t overheat like normal weapons, so it doesn’t need radiators or coolers.
Then, the best part… unlike any other sniper weapon, when you need to use it up close, you don’t have to wait for that charge to use it. You don’t have to wait for a reload. It acts very much like a shotgun. In my testing, it looks like the damage is about 1/2 what it is for a fast-charged shot.
But, people get them, aren’t immediately successful with them, and then start saying they’re trash.
Amen.
If you think it’s OP, prove it by posting vids of you being OP using them.
Anything this side of the Ripper, which I still haven’t seen anyone use effectively, I’m pretty sure any weapon is a good weapon. The higher the tier, the harder many of them are to use - as it should be.
The irony is that people want the advanced weaponry to be as easy to use as the noob stuff. Without realizing it, they’re asking for the game to be pay to win, and demanding they never have to increase their own skill levels.
eternal noobs?
It’s not about being the top of the top. Like a situation in a game like this where you get items a little bit better is always going to happen as full 100% balance is near impossible. But a lot of this is so blatantly too powerful that putting the same player onto a lesser build is just complete domination with no way to fight back.
I don’t see this at all, unless you’re talking about people running builds that just won’t work well.
I’m talking about mixing weapons that don’t combine well, or leaving weak spots of your build exposed, or even just taking the wrong approach to playing the items.
I can only think of a few weapons that are nearly impossible to make a decent build with, assuming the player has skills. Similarly, there are only a few items that are both powerful and easy to use.
Most stuff is in the middle.
I’m gonna ditto that - not meaning to pile on, just 2nding an opinion… the only one I can think of that I’ve never seen used well is the Ripper.
Even weapons I’ve used & have never been successful with, I’ve seen others dominate with them (Waltz & TOW come to mind).
Powerful & easy to use…
All of the machine guns & miniguns.
Shotguns to a lesser extent. Their reload gets wonky at higher rarity.
Retcher for sure…
The teslas emitters seem this way, although I’ve never used 'em.
Porcupines…
Everything else is going to require you to practice a bit more - some more than others.
I am talking about the premise of, say all the weapons (where you could use them on any movement part), compare how many weapons are better on a wheel/track build, versus those that are MORE effective with the hovers.
Yes there are builds that can work, but compare it to others, and this whole thing is putting the scenario of everyone being equal ability/equal inventory with the build being fully built with perfect fusions
