This is exactly what this forum post was about, it effects everyone
That’s fine but sometimes these posts get way to broad in scope. If we really want them to pay attention we have to try to be very concise and on topic. For instance your points on clan wars should be it’s own topic. Omamori should be it’s own topic. Hovers it’s own topic.
I’m not saying this to be harsh or even push aside what’s being said but notes have to be taken to an extent that it’s useable info for it to be useful. I’d be pulling my hair out trying to parse out info in this if I had to do so. I hope you understand and I’m not trying to say anything bad either.
Few things to break down:
Clan Wars is in a terrible state
New additions are often heavily unbalanced
Balance changes take FOREVER to come in and often do not fix/address the problems
BPs do not allow people who miss them to craft any items to be competitive in higher ps battles
Temporary modes are often rushed/not what players want and effort feels wasted on it
Focus seems to be onto adding more content when core gameplay feels terrible and needs addressing first
Events like mini BPs are huge scams
Grind is terrible leading onto new players having zero chance of getting into higher ps without getting bored/feeling like it’s a 2nd job
Just a few to start above
Yeah that’s much more digestible for someone that is parsing for key points and then later looking for proofs.
I agree… Very much… But…
To be fair… If I were the devs reading the nastiness I see - specifically over on Facebook - I may be hard pressed to do or say anything nice to the player base.
We would probably look like a bunch of ungrateful, bickering, unforgiving spoiled brats - myself included from time to time.
We should keep in mind that the devs are probably not paying much attention to the forum (at least since the new forum started), so if your goal is to be listened to by the devs, you probably either have to complain on Reddit or learn Russian.
What this forum could be useful for is a way for players to exchange info about a game that is sometimes overly opaque about how the mechanisms actually work. That’s why I started coming to the forum, and sometimes it’s still useful for that.
I’m not ever going to argue the game doesn’t have huge flaws, but it’s also the best game I’ve ever played over decades of gaming.
For the record, here are the things I think should be fixed about the game:
- clan wars. Could be great, but isn’t. Is basically P2W, except for the handful of players who started grinding at the very beginning.
- mini BPs are dumb.
- spaced armour mechanics (but looks like that’s being fixed)
- adventure mode (needs a major update to be genuinely useful for new players, and should greatly expand the lore to include all factions)
- some reworking of fusing. Currently allows players to subvert the PS balancing in PVP too much. I also hate the random aspect, but I can live with that if they address the balance issues. Wow, look at me complaining about balance! Maybe pigs can fly!
My biggest beef in the game is how you earn resources. There should be modes for both PVP and PVE for each. I like to earn stuff and I like to do it by my own efforts and time.
I exaggerate the depth of my contentions for the sake of clarity often too (or simply, if I’m mad). So, even those differences we do actually maintain, may not be as severe as presented. I can’t speak for everybody, but I doubt I’m the only person here who overstates their opinions for one reason or the other.
It’s just hard not to feel passionate about this game. Our avatars take a lot of personal input to create in this game. Maybe that’s part of it. Our egos get trapped in our builds like a Ghost in the Machine during the build process. Then when it goes south, we feel personally insulted by that.
I can say that no other game has ever gripped my attention like this one.
This is actually what causes a lot of issues. If your over playing or over connecting and stop treating it as just a game it gets way to personal way to fast.
I think it’s not too bad, I see a lot of cases of serious exaggeration here. Personal frustrations written in we form as if they represent everyone’s opinion.
My thoughts on game: Game has become much better balanced over the years except for 3 things:
CW, is a stillborn baby. Always has been, competition based on unlimited PS is and was a bad choice.
Hovers, enough has already been said about that, I will not repeat.
The way armor works, who knows, maybe we will soon see improvement there, first see then believe.
About game in general, all I can say is that it has the depth of Candy Crush. PvP totally meaningless and risk free, baby game. PvE same. This makes grind seem much worse than it actually is, I know some FTP games with harder grind to get to endgame without paying, often even impossible. It all sounds very negative, XO also offers a lot of good things, but unfortunately I cannot see XO as a full-fledged game, it is not finished. Still fun to mess around with builds etc.
This to me really needs work and it should work from new player to vet level. The best of three has to go away. spending 4 hrs on one mode is not an option for a lot of players. As much as I joke about tears from aristocratic players if this was fixed a slew of other attached issues would go away too.
Sometimes I get a little heated too.
The concept of this game is so promising. I really wish it was more popular.
Same here, this is also one of the most frustrating games I’ve played though.
You put it best: The Best game I ever hated.
They wouldn’t think that way, and if so, why wouldn’t they just turn off the game
Exactly this.
And I fairly well agree with the last several posts since then.
Specifically this…
With no powerscore balancing, it will forever remain broken and-to me at least - enjoyable. It seems silly that it remains this way and could so easily be fixed in so many different ways. Oh well.
The word you are looking for is: Customers.
I cannot imagine going into a place of business, no matter how dissatisfied I was with the service, and my opening remark being a vulgarity-laden diatribe attacking the Proprietors of the business. Yet that is how some of us behave.
Is that why your not doing customer service? I get you though there’s way too much complaining to be useful.
man, with my temper, if I had to do customer service with the retail public, I would be in jail fast!
Who claims to hate the game? I just see a few forumers hate on other forumers because they have opinions lol.
Nobody hates the game as a whole here. The monetization system? Yeah that’s garbage. Targem’s lethargic update rate and pitiful balance patches to a game they don’t play? Sure, who likes that? Gaijin? Let’s not open this can of worms. Raids? Worst PvE content I ever played.
And despite that, I like the game, otherwise I wouldn’t bother. I loved my ex, that’s why I tried to stay and tell her what went wrong when shit hit the fans the first time, even if she was toxic as hell lol. Otherwise I would have just grabbed my bags and cya never lol.
Maybe you don’t bother because you don’t like the game enough?
hint: this last sentence does not accurately reflect my stance on the subject and was just meant as a counterpoint to the oh-so-common “if you say bad things about it you hate it reeeeeeeh” mentality you find on these types of forums. Nationalists use the exact same rethoric to shut down any kind of discussion or opposition, so it’s hard to not get disrespectful in front of this argument.
What is so hard with any game is, not everyone shares these feelings.
You might have a little regret about a few things, but most people I talked to are still loving the game (and complaining a little at the same time) but they are still having a blast and would never leave.
Also, I find that the “skilled” or “try hard” guys cry the biggest tears, but they are also the same guys that cheer every time something is OP and they take advantage of it making the game worse. But they don’t care because they had fun.
One thing you always have to keep in mind on this forum is “everyone” no mater what they say is all about “buff everything a love and nerf everything I hate”
