The actual number of active players (is smol)

And, on top of all that LOL

I forgot about BP parts.

The ones of use that got the BPs have all those parts, everyone else needs to grind badges instead of being able to trade them for resources, which makes it even harder to get new gear.

Lol, to new players “get wretched”

I honestly don’t know what people find attractive about this game at that level. It doesn’t at all resemble the game it’s branded as. I can’t relate to people who would want to race towards the end game that awaits them here; Hovers, mines, the Spark-vestor is back, and there are also a plethora of aim-free weapons that are incredibly expensive, and then need to be fused to be effective, because otherwise you’ll get pwnd for not being “competitive” enough. I think the end game is terrible. I don’t know why anybody would want that, but you’re right; they do…but I don’t.

In fact I’ve been considering starting a new account, just because I’m sick of missiles, drones, and Borers on Small-Tracks, etc. Almost none of that exists below 4K, and the game is much more fun when it isn’t. JMO.

If the population where larger, it’d probably be easier to find matches down low, and I wouldn’t have to pull shenanigans to do so. It’s not like the game doesn’t allow for it. It’s just that it isn’t popular enough to be a convenient pool for the matchmaker to work with. It’s simply underpopulated, and most people do what most people do.

We need more people. I really do think a lot of this games issues would be remedied by a healthier population. I believe the matchmaker would function better and I feel like a lot of this games issues are connected to that feature struggling.

…and more maps.

I can see why some people might not want to play end game, it takes a lot of commitment. but with the ultimate Lego set, if I could give you high level gear I guarantee you would be building with it and have a blast.

The “what the game was billed as” thing is odd to me. Because the last time I read it the game slogan was “Craft, Build, Destroy” not “Limited, to, MadMax” because of the “Build” part this game is suppose to look like however build can build. If you want to know what real war machines in the world of Crossout would look like then you have to go to super high PS.

I’ll leave you with a few promo images. (And yes, there are also plenty that look like MadMax as well)

I get where you’re coming from and I’m upset about the mid PS levels being filled with hovers, dronebrains and facehuggers almost exclusively too. I agree it’s an absolute shytefest. But that’s an issue of the state the game and the balance is in at the moment, not an issue of the rarity of the equipment. I’m trying to play the same way at any PS - drive around fast and shoot stuff - even though it’s harder with rising PS for sure.

Perhaps if the players’ inventories were more easily filled with various items, players wouldn’t be so attached to their toys (especially if they invest their whole inventory into a single meta (s)crap pile) and the devs could react more quickly to anything too toxic and shuffle the balance around more often.

They increased the xp by 10x and now it takes 150 days to engineer 30? I do not believe u.

hey im just estimating, we do have the daily increased xp which we didnt have back then as well, i kinda forgot about that, i cant remember the xp requirements for those levels 0-30 at the start so idk how much of an impact it has…

plus i mean literal days not in game time, obviously

Yeah, I remember when you used to get 2 white parts and scrap, then went down to 1 white part and scrap now it’s just scrap and the amount was cut too!

Is it sad that I didn’t get that till like 100 hours in, because I bought parts early on instead of crafting them using the resources I got to buy from the market instead of crafting.

Not everyone crafts in this game like ever.

imagine the game cost 30 bucks, all items unlockable with maybe 1/5 - 1/10 or less, i dunno, of the current grind. all cosmetics incl. paints behind a hard pay wall. can still get a scanner and battlepasses for money.

im absolutely positive had they chosen a marketing scheme like this the playerbase would be much more relaxed. and balancing would be easier as there wouldnt be conflicting interests.

ofc this cant be reversed at this time because the people playing now are a product of the current business model and wouldnt put up with such a change. most of them paid to dunk on other plebs.

Kindly read the whole thing before posting a reply.

All so… fascinating.

You know most of the world doesn’t use Steam, right… and that many people immediately stop launching it from steam once they realize steam -literally- just launches the gaijin launcher itself… right?

I’m prestige 120 and still haven’t unlocked them all lol.

People really forgot how absolutely brutal, stupid and tedious the grind is here.

Do you change factions to unlock them?
It shouldn’t take that many levels.

If it does take that many levels… then I’m so glad I don’t have to do it again.

I do. Prestige 113 rn. Maybe 15-20 more to go…

Holy cow man, that is brutal.

Steam? Ppl still use that crappy platform?

It does seem to take a while sure. I’m engineer prestige 200, with about 72 prestige total accross the six factions.

You can basically get a relic before you get all the structure parts unlocked.

No it’s not. You know exactly what I mean. You just don’t like it.

I agree, there is a lot more to this game than Mad Max. They even have adds that feature sci-fi, far removed from the likes of Road Warriors, that actually doesn’t resemble anything I’ve ever seen in any popular science-fiction. It’s pretty original looking, IMO. I’m not very sure how to characterize it. There’s even a pack or two in the store that doesn’t look like it came straight off of Fury Road.

In fact most players builds are awkward and alien looking at every level in the actual game (sorry kids), not just end-game. There is very little Mad max going on anywhere in this Wasteland if I were to be honest. It’s only in the posters.

I suppose I’m a bit frustrated at the irony, but I’ll let it go.

My bigger point is that the end-game stinks, IMO. It looks like a sprawling disaster caused by a lack of foresight and planning to me, and I’m not surprised more people don’t play it.

I’m more surprised by why they would. When I hear that people are frustrated and quitting because they can’t attain to that level soon enough, it makes me scratch my head and wonder why. Almost every feature in this game functions better down low. Crafting is more enjoyable, building is easier, matches are more balanced, exploits aren’t even possible, and getting your stuff nerfed after you paid a fortune for it doesn’t happen either.

As you head to the other end of the game, it becomes what it is; an unpopular sci-fi shooter. Crafting is tedious, unprofitable, and un-enjoyable, building is unrewarding and also tedious (cut and paste META), matches are unbalanced and PVP is veteran crews shooting new-fish in a barrel, exploits are just common practice, and they routinely nerf your incredibly expensive fused gear, and there’s nothing you can do about it. All of that on top of debilitating lag and 3 minute queues.

There are a lot of reasons why this game is unpopular. Most of them are not thematic.

true this…
and then players are in a money crunch later when you need 2 of the same items you want to fuse that you just grinded to get that 1 item you have(it’s omg i need 2 more items just to fuse this 1 item that i can’t sell after i fuse it).
i learned that the hard way…crafting is useless too…
the game needs to rework fusing and crafting, make more maps<–i always want that

I’m glad that you enjoy low PS play Doc.

I on the other hand, do not.

And what you have explained above is one version of the truth from your prospective.

I personally have no problem getting any gear I want. And I find that Ultra-High PS has more variety then lower PS, at least for me. I personally have no interest in running around in little matchbox cars.

But that is what is great about this game, we can all enjoy it in different ways. There is no right or wrong. The shoe does not always fit everyone the same way.
