The biggest financial problem in the game

you should play World of Tanks

I prefer War Thunder

this exactly. there are people out there on reddit who think pve should be removed completely and pve shouldnt be a thing but if that were the case then i doubt the game would have as many players as it does now. i want variety in a game and the more modes and fun the game is, the more people will want to stay and play.
i mean look at the spider mode we had with the spiders and the giant spider, that mode was ok though i liked it and had fun with it despite some team mates being frustrating.

yeah i would like more raid modes to. they said they were going to do a heli raid but… where is it?
idk if the modes been abandoned or what.
adventure mode needs something to make people play it again. hell add the spider boss in it for us to fight in our normal builds and i think it would be a fun activity to do.

adding rotors and mech legs, which are low quality features that make the game feel like roblox

its not about overpriced packs, its about having a bit of an incomphrenensive progress system, no gamemodes to play, and relics being locked away as pure p2w.
the aspect of a hard grind itself isnt horrible, they need to make money somehow after all, but the way its done, its obvious why nobody wants to touch it.

What makes them low quality? And why would low quality features have anything to do with attracting new players?
I’m having a hard time following your logic.

We all approach the game differently, and tend to see the aspects of the game that we don’t personally like as “the problem”. But from what I see, the playerbase is diverse and the parts of the game that I don’t care about are often the aspects that other people love.
Maybe the game would be better if they focused only on the things I like, but I’m pretty sure they’d just lose a lot of other players.

in my opinion they added a shallow gimmick to make the game look cooler and more similar to war thunder which has both tanks and aircraft, and same thing for the mech legs.
im not saying everyone dislikes rotors or legs, but they dont fit the game and theyre like toys which is the oppsite of the original style of the game.
because of the slop features and new art style the game has no identity and looks generic, and i doubt this will attract any players

this is what the game should be…

How are the aesthetics of mech legs different from ML200?
And how are rotors different from the other “military” movement parts like all the tracks that have been in the game forever?
I didn’t take you for someone who thinks the game should have stayed as a mad max ripoff. Don’t you play hovers? How are hovers not more of a “toy” part than mech legs and rotors?

I am struggling to think of any game that shares the identity and look of Crossout, especially if we’re talking about player-made vehicles.
There are so many Crossout metas that look unlike any other fighting vehicle games I’ve ever seen. Even the mechs have rapidly found their own identity, and helicopters in Crossout typically look nothing like helicopters in other games.

But they are learning, slow but surely

Exactly, what’s the point in doing that ? I know, i know, the market, buy to sell and hold on to a part or two, outside of that there’s no freaking sense or incentive to buy one, not for a combat context where packs are notorious bad .
This is a decent ( not this but it’s sister ship ), if specced for secondaries ( mandrakes like calibre ) it melts everything at 10 kms and closer.

Very capable ship for brawling from the get-go, turtle neck armour, thick armour and so on.
I don’t know what is the mini game in this game, the market part or the combat part.
But i’m full combat oriented, so the packs are a mute point to me.
This game has problems, root problems, lack of focus e.g.

the mech legs are fast, gigantic, have odd abilities like jumping or dashing

the controls are very dumb and there is no way to change them

im not someone who thinks crossout should say a max max ripoff forever, but the new style of the game went too far, and at this point has nothing to do with the original apocalypse survival idea, nor its own unique identity.
yes, hovers are sort of a toy part but i meant “toy” in a way that they play like toys, not the idea of the part.
if they added even slightly realistic mech legs and rotors, i wouldnt complain. but the current implementation feels like its catered to 6 year olds.
and speaking of controls for 6 year olds, i think the mouse aim controls didnt make anything better

player made vehicles is the only unique aspect of crossout. but then look at the art direction, and the new sorts of parts being added.
for example compare the new and old UI, thats all i need to see where this game is going

I’m not clear on what you think has been lost, or how it has gone too far in some new direction.
It’s kind of sounding like you’re mostly just still mad about camera steering.

The variety is a bit wider than it was five years ago, but they’re still adding parts that fit into the original factions all the time.
I probably make more muscle cars and hot rods than anything, and I know I have a lot more to work with now than back in the day.

Are you one of those people that think adding the syndicate was a mistake? Why? Why would the apocalypse have destroyed all cars from the 90s onwards, and only left vehicles from before that?

The game is basically violent LEGO. I’m sure some people were mad when LEGO introduced the spaceship packs, or the medieval ones, but I also know that variety made building much more fun when I was a kid.

the map design, new parts / their design, the “new” UI.
it all just looks boring and generic

im not really mad about camera steering, its just one of multiple things that shouldnt exist in the game

no, i dont really know anything about crossout lore or what syndycate is. i just care about the actual gameplay, and thats degrading over time

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

To me, the original maps looked very cheap and generic, whereas the new maps and updates to the old ones have a lot more personality and uniqueness.

Likewise, the newer factions are much less derivative of mad max/Star Wars, and have helped Crossout develop its look into something very specific to this universe.

Are you sure you aren’t just burning out on the game? It’s natural for that to happen, especially with a simple arcade style game like this.
The only thing that has ever separated Crossout from simple arcade games is the building mechanism, and that has been developed and expanded a lot since the early days.

its suppose to be for helicopter control, dont know why its for everything.
'and yes i do like helicopter in patrol. hope it makes it to raids. :kissing_heart:

I use camera steering for strafing parts, because I’m old and make my living working with my hands. The old strafing controls meant that I couldn’t play strafing parts for long before my hands cramped up, which is probably one of the reasons I still mostly play wheels.

For me, camera steering is an accessibility thing.

The truth is that I could do more things with the old controls, and players that continue to use the old controls can perform better than me. But at least I can use strafing parts now for more than half an hour at a time.

Camera steering does not give a performance advantage.

try flying a helicopter without

lol, that’s true.

I was just referring to the people who won’t stop complaining that camera steering ruined the rest of the game somehow.

i think this applies to new maps too, for example the new fuji map.
its entirely subjective but i think its just a boring style and general layout.
image
what is less subjective is how horrible the actual gameplay is. but thats not caused by the art style or anything

i think i see the games i play pretty objectively. there were games where you could say i burned out and got bored, whether thats because of bad updates or just standard burnout, but i ended up coming back and appreciating their new direction / style / updates.
as with most games i play, i left and then returned back to crossout over a span of multiple years, and it just never got better in quality, content richness or gameplay options. it only got more lame.

camera steering is generally a good thing, but it has 2 issues.
it reduces the skill needed to take advantage of omnidirectional parts, but at least this allows more accessiblity.
then it allows people to play cheese builds with a tiny angle to shoot their weapon through a ton of armor, where without mouse aim you would have to actually handle the sensitive controls to use it, but now it just lines up automatically

camera steering obviously didnt ruin anything, people who complain about it that way just dont know what to be mad about. and on top of that there isnt much to “ruin” regardless

You are right that these things are completely subjective.
I find the Fuji map much more interesting and unique than the original handful of maps, and it also looks more detailed and real to me.
Obviously we have different perspectives.

Are you sure? Because it’s pretty clear that me and you do not share the same perspective on gameplay either. I find the game more interesting and complex now than when I started playing.
I think it’s accurate to say that what makes a game good for you isn’t universal, since I see improvements where you see a decline.
Opinions on things like this are always subjective.
The only opinions that aren’t are things that can be measured scientifically.

Everyone thinks their opinions are objective, and everyone else’s are subjective.

Tunnel builds have been part of Crossout long before camera steering. They may have been a bit harder to drive before, but that just meant it was primarily veteran players that could take advantage of them before.
Many older builds with buried weapons used armour to restrict gun movement so that they were always able to fire, and you aimed with your steering. This is not significantly different from camera steering.
I know this because I occasionally played builds like that pre-camera steering, and I occasionally do now as well. I don’t like how they feel either way, so they aren’t my preference, even if they are effective.

All camera steering did was make various aspects of strafing builds more accessible to more people. But people who can use traditional steering still have the advantage.

Not something worth complaining about, in my opinion.
