The developer team answers for the Q&A session about balance in Crossout. Part 1
Survivors!
Recently, we held a Q&A session with the development team to answer your questions and address your suggestions regarding balance in Crossout. Here are the answers. There will be a lot of them, there are 56 answers in this part.
The post is actually too long to put on the forum so the link for it is here:
It was nice of them to endure this Q & A. Many of the “questions” were more like selfish petitions, lobbying for their own personal META.
The several complaints about the lack of efficacy of Active Melee builds stood out as being particularly meritless, and I applaud the developer’s ability to address that with a straight face, rather than the single straight finger I would have used.
They will, otherwise they got no content for part 2, but they are not in hurry to reply EN questions.
On Discord they got 2 days deadline now, and for RU it took them 3 days to reply to ALL questions.
So i want to see what they will do.
“Next year” isn’t that far away…but bricks are a more relevant issue than any want for this massive ammo cap game mechanic upheaval they decided to introduce in the name of hitscan dominance for no real reason or request, just out of the blue. Then they act like, “Hey man, our plate is full right now.”
One post on reddit somewhere by someONE probably isn’t an indicator of a game issue that requires an overhaul of this magnitude.
Maybe it’ll be great, and the update looks like it will suit me personally just fine, but they have this bad habit of painting over old issues and past features that have needed to be addressed or updated for years. There are a lot of features in this game that many of us like, that appear to be abandoned and left to rot. Some of them are relatively new features too, like the co-driver system, for example.
The game architecture is sprawling and increasingly dysfunctional, and the more new features they introduce, the more features they neglect. I, like others in the Q & A, would like them to please finish what is already on their plate before getting seconds.
“We will consider increasing the durability of the “Reaper” weapon in one of the future balance changes, but only in conjunction with increasing its mass. The multiple increase in durability of the “Devourer” relative to the “Reaper” is due to its size.”
oh really? so can you explain to me why a fucken fatman has more health and weighs less then a fricken tsunami!?
" Stillwind and Whirlwind are weak."
who said this? i want to know who said this so i can slap them with a MASSIVE tuna! this gun is NOT weak, in fact, it over performs in pve to a disgusting extent and even more so then cyclones. this gun out damages alot of my setups and its very overpowered in pve. seriously i was using multiple different guns and the stillwinds always outclassed me by at least 20 - 40k damage. i see people running these ALOT in pve and imo they are just point hogging.
"Q: Recent changes to add ammunition limit to all weapons.
The problem is that you have to rebuild absolutely ALL builds for this, lose the durability and add vulnerability to your custom build in the form of explosive ammo packs.
Solution: increasing the base ammo pack (blue and purple rarity) or increasing the ammunition of cannons and weapons that require ammo packs, in that case ammo shortage situations will become less frequent."
oh my god someone who shares the same idea as me… it is a miracle!
“I propose to make it more difficult to disrupt invisibility. For example, you need to do 300 damage to an invisible enemy to reveal them.”
this dudes hitting the vodka pretty hard there to suggest something this ridiculous…
“The Devourer’s huge advantage in CW over other weapons”
is… this true?? can anyone confirm this? i know the devourer is strong but is it that strong in clan wars to?
For some reason they are going through China to get across the street with this one. There were plenty of very simple solutions, but they chose instead this new drastically more complicated route, I suspect for reasons they simply would rather not disclose. There is more to it that they are not telling, I think…or maybe they have a brain tumor. IDK.
When are they going to address how overpowered epic wheels have become? Their durability has gone up by a minimum of 50% in the last few years but their speed is unchanged. Nothing else in the game has seen such massive buffs across their entire class. It seems to me to be a poorly executed wheel buff in the face of omnidirectional movement. The devs thought they could just +50% wheels with their dura and perks and call it done. All they did is turn the entire game into W key dog builds with varied ranges.
Omnidirectional ranged builds were overpowered compared with wheeled ranged builds but the devs went about buffing wheels in a way that ONLY favors dog/brick builds.
