It appeals only to rich players with some money left on their account, while ignoring bigger audience. And the game ceiling is always the audience count, and the new content is a method of cash out only.
Maybe they need to raise the ceiling and create a new level, past Relic and Legendary, and on to “Mythical.” It could be fully Lost in Space, Mad Scientist drama with completely unbelievable Dr. Who lore, an outrageous price-tag/grind, and a Top Secret Area 51 clearance level inventory filled with only the gods know what.
Maybe they could commemorate the “moon landing” by releasing a pack that has a bonus Range on the Moon to go with the introduction of this new Mythical level. They could dress it up all Stanley Kubrick, like it could possibly be just a movie studio/government conspiracy, and the aliens are fake.
Or not.
Ok do you really think the ceiling is how much content you release?
I’ll put it simply, there is a supply/demand. The game raises the supply of packs, but the demand for packs is falling. If they keep doing that the game will die, now better?
To keep the bigger audience interested you need to give them some free stuff (something desirable but not too hard to acquire) like the free games do
And with a bigger audience come the dumb players with open wallets like me. Boom profit
The online game ceiling is “online” who may have thought
Or maybe they figured this out years ago, and introduced the Battlepass system so that they could profit from those of us who think packs cost too much to justify buying.
Given how many players I see running every new BP item as soon as they unlock it, I suspect that the non-whale market of battlepass-only customers dwarfs the income from the whales buying every premium pack.
Yeah, when the next battle pass? Daddy wanna spend. jk probably not
Also I love these weekend events with +50% rep Targem be like: Hey Gaijin look, the game you bought from us is not dead, we promise it’s not!
No. I Suggested a higher level of gear to aspire to, above and beyond what is already in the game. What do you think the “ceiling” means, if it’s not the game’s category of it’s highest rated gear?
Personally, I think a game that is one third art (Craft-Ride-Destroy) has no ceiling, other than what your imagination is limited to, which is why I play this game. I couldn’t care less about this game’s “ceiling,” or it’s top shelf items. I’m more into what I can build, than who’s got what.
I think you’re chasing the wind to eat it. JMO.
This game ceiling is average 4500 online daily, there is only that much you can sell to such amount of people. Therefore there is a ceiling. If you not raising your ceiling by giving away free stuff and attracting more people, there is not enough people to eat the content you publishing.
If you would ask Crossout devs about ceiling they will tell you the same in dollars, they would say our ceiling is 10000usd per week currently. We don’t earn more
Oh, I see. That is a completely different topic. Sorry.
I agree. They do need more players. And, I also agree that free2players bring a lot to the table in a variety of different ways, and a focus on developing the low end of this game, which they never do, would benefit the developers bottom line by improving player retention, population, and improve game functionality, making it more fun for everybody, and a more lucrative business for Gaijin in the long-run.
I think the matchmaker has issues with low population, and the market obviously does too (at least on PC). This game is crippled by it’s low player population, and the developer’s bank accounts are no doubt hobbled by that too. The inconsistency of this game’s mechanics (one day it’s balanced, the next it’s not) probably turns people away.
I struggle with that myself. One day it’s fun, the next it’s not. One day hovers are OP, the next they are garbage. People buy battle pass stuff that is over-powered because it wins, and then they nerf it until it’s worthless, and the inventory of worthless items grows and grows. I can’t imagine that not making people angry, but it also makes a mess out of the market and personal inventories. On some level, I suppose they might see that as a good marketing strategy, but I think it’s awful, and I believe this is where Crossout gets it’s bad reputation.
Yes, the grind is painful, the stuff is expensive but believe me when i tell you it can be much worse.
The game is not that unbalanced, it’s pretty forgiven and everyone can have fun
you can make a game session without the ruin your day.
You don’t end up seeing all red, with the blood pressure sky high because you just spent the entire game session having your ass handed to you every single time by stupid broken op builds where you have 0 counterplay…Hey but the grind…is also a pain, economics is better up until a certain point or not because now you pay to have a change to pay.
Isn’t that beautiful?
Have a swing at it, you may like it.
Meanwhile relax, enjoy and have fun.
Crossout is better than many games out there.
Last time i heard about what i wrote, they are declining on numbers starting to enter into Crossout numbers.
All of you are right in some point but there is no doubt about the greed of developers, in this game grind and greed are going together. If you’re a casual player whos playing just for fun it should not matter but if you want to be a top player with all relics you have to spend a lot of money or sell your soul to the devil and spend 15k hours in xo like me
But even this 15k hours doesnt help if it comes to bp, you just have to spend 10 bucks just to get right fusion on all items from bp.
Yes the game is greedy ,greedy for my time and money.
I already posted it before in the old forum but if someone missed it pls watch and open your mind. Peace
Let’s go whaling: Tricks for monetising mobile game players with free-to-play - YouTube
Now that’s a great take, from a guy who plays this game seriously, puts 15k hours in, and still feels he must spend on battlepasses…
Same as me…(but I spend more)
I mean, if the devs are billionaires from this game, that’s definitely greedy, but I doubt anyone is getting rich off this game.
I think some of you just have very poor impulse control and want someone to blame.
Greedy and Rich is not the same thing, you can be a homeless stinky hobo, and still be greedy…
This 100%
Yup 100% and I even said as much then was responded with a tantrum, but that’s how it is nowadays, people don’t do stuff or can’t control themselves and blame others for it instead of the true person at fault, themselves!

Me talking straight FACTS… that the kids and elderly can’t even handle… love it
Quaero_et_tego
Seriously you gonna let this go on, it started as I hate the greedy Dev’s to now being belligerent, and immature name calling
Case in point!
And also this
Even after a lot of his responses were hidden this multi-account person still persists in trolling and aggressive to the point of harassment
And yes I’ve just ignored this person but that doesn’t mean this person’s behavior shouldn’t have consequences as it’s clearly not appropriate anywhere and pains me to see an “adult” act like this!
