This game is greedy, you either need to spend a lot of MONEY or MONTHS OF TIME

The packs in the on-line store are very overpriced. That’s hard to deny. Crosscrowns are a bit of a scam too, and the decor they sell with it is not that great, and is also very over-priced as well. For a game that seems to still be in a beta test phase, this is sort of unheard of, isn’t it? Even games that are finished tend to cost less, but I assume this “beta-test” thing is also a scam, and a legal loop-hole to avoid scrutiny over how often they turn this virtual-world upside-down with nerfs etc.

It all seems very unorthodox to me, and the developers appear to fly by the seat of their pants, making it up as they go along. I’m sure their reputation precedes them considerably, so nobody should be surprised by any of their antics. Buyer beware. This game runs hot and cold, and switches game-mechanics like the wind. Sometimes it’s great. Sometimes it’s not. It is what it is. It’s no secret.

But, what exactly is this game supposed to do for people, I wonder? This game is advertised to allow you to drive about in rusty, cobbled together, self-made, combat-cars in a post-apocalyptic landscape, and shoot at other players until they blow-up, for free. It does that. I do that here, anyway. No problem.

I spent less than a dollar on this account, and I build all kinds of cool cars and drive around shooting at players in PVP. My kill average is between two or three players a match. I don’t expect more than that. Am I supposed to do better than that? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t, but the teams aren’t really that big. Should I expect more from this game? Like what, I wonder?

Should I expect more from this game if I spend a bunch of money on it? I think it would be unfair to the public if I did any better competitively by virtue of a credit card. I’m not sure anybody does any better, do they?

I think I would be hard pressed to squeeze a $2000 value out of this game, unless I did it over a decade or so. That’s equivalent to buying every pack they sell twice, and then some. But, I’m certainly having no trouble getting my 99 cents out of it.

If there’s another comparable game that will let me drive around a scenic wasteland and blow-up players in anything nearly that cool for free, I’d sure like to hear about it. Maybe people think I got ripped off? I don’t. I like that car. It seems like a bargain to me.

A premium subscription to Newsweek is $9.99 a month, just for reference. I’m not sure I could justify spending more than that on a video game, personally, and if it wasn’t fun, or I felt ripped off, I’d terminate my account.

Idc about the monetization but the devs need to stop pandering to hover players. They need their shit nerfed hard.

lmao just relax evryone , evyrone should be able to play this game how he/she wants THATS IT !!!

And that’s the only thing you got, only this car? After playing for probably months? Let’s take this game as a whole - you experienced less than 1% of it but already spent 0.99 dollars lol

up on the top right is a search bar, type in RexLincoln and you’ll see all the cool rigs and things he’s done for .99 cents.

I had a great time playing for years before the battlepasses came along. And I can assure you that the game was much more grindy when I started. Remember “get the machine gun” battles?

Yes I get it, he spent a lot of his valuable(or cheap) time counted by months. And got some gold. But that’s not the point. This game is greedy - now that’s the point.

Greed = making the game progress so time consuming that you see no end to it unless you pay.

And at the end it doesn’t matter how much you pay, the value of your purchase is garbage.

And I’m my opinion the reason this game is so greedy, because it was acquired by Gayjin(before it was Targem only). And after acquiring the game Gaijin started milking it like crazy, otherwise it’s not a worthy investment in their opinion…

They are not trying to take this game out of beta, they try to cash out and take this game to the grave. Easy.

Otherwise why they add so much more content instead of improving the old content and getting this poop out of beta test already???

I share Poony’s view, on a lot of things tbh.
I’m currently rotating between XO and two other F2P games and they’re all comparatively priced. A car pack on AS9 varies from £5-80 and a boat pack on FP cost £30.
Yes the Devs are greedy but they can be due to some people’s irrational/irresponsible urges.

Why would you want to see the “end”?
There’s no special prize you get for getting to the end quickly (whatever it is that you think the “end” means in this context).

Where is it that you think you should be able to advance to quicker? The truth is that if you’re not having fun in low PS, you’re not going to have any more fun once you’ve advanced to higher level gear.
This also means that if you are having fun at the beginning, you could play this game for years without getting bored, and without spending any money.

Each and every game has an end, or an “endgame”. The problem is you don’t see YOURSELF in it. You don’t see yourself reaching the endgame because of HOW SLOW the progress is going for you. And you going to pay the money to stop being a loser, which you did!

Stop twisting my words, you know damn well what i meant, get off the copium

Do you really think you’ll finally start having fun once you own all the relics?
Besides, there is no “end” in Crossout, as new items are constantly being introduced, not to mention balance changes.

There is no end, the nearest you can get in this game is 100% completion on the trials.

There is an endgame and always was. Before it was Typhoon hover fully fused + Scorp Hover + Porc Hover + Fire Dog. And I know a lot of people with such inventory. It’s fun.

Now I started playing again and I suppose the endgame now is to have all the relevant cabins + relevant weaponry and be good with hovers. Idk because I started playing yesterday after almost a year break.

Buying the battlepasses got me to play high PS more often, but I am 100% being honest when I say that high PS isn’t more fun than mid PS.

In high PS, most vehicles are slower and bigger, which is not as exciting to me. There are far fewer weapons, cabins, and movement parts being used, and far more meta builds, which makes it less visually exciting and more predictable. Strategies are more important, but unfortunately that mostly means that teams either camp or rush, with very little deviation from those two options.

High PS just isn’t that special to me, so why would I care about getting there sooner?

Having said that, I’ve been playing more high PS lately, because I’m trying to get my muscle memory better on the new strafing controls. It’s still fun in its own way, but not worth spending money to get to quicker.

Edit: just saw your reply, and I see that even you recognize that the “end game” builds are always changing, proving my point that there is no real “end”. Crossout is all about adapting and creativity.

You can change it to old ones instead. The new controls are there just to confuse the hover players and make them bad af.

So far I love this argument. My argument is “devs are greedy”. And the others say “we found the ways to cope”.

But if you found the ways to cope it doesn’t make me wrong! Devs are still greedy!

And I hope you’ll find a way to cope with a fact that you’ll never have all the things you want in the game.

So now, are the devs greedy? Yes/No?

The new controls are much easier on my hands. The old console strafing controls were causing me pain, so I could only play strafing parts for a couple hours at a time.

As far as whether the devs are greedy, I don’t believe that’s something that’s easy to define. They are a business, so their primary goal needs to be profit or the game disappears. I think the prices on packs are ridiculous, but clearly some people are willing to pay that. I think the battlepasses are great value for the buck, so I buy them. Both of those strategies generate income, but only the Crossout accountants know which one is more lucrative.

IMO Gaijin killing the game. It grows to fast in terms of content but the ceiling stays same height, and it will break its head lol. Not before robbing you all of course…
