This is the real reason that the game is dying!

As veterans like myself with 10 000 hours has finally gotten sick of the game, the power creep just gets worse for new players. There is still an influx of new players but the game has gotten much more hostile for new players hence the game keeps getting harder to retain the newbies that do come. In order to save the game they will need to release a crossout 3.0, rebrand themselves a little, ease off on the draconian monetization and be a little more consumer friendly. You don’t create brand loyalty by crapping on your customers and I am surprised that the game even lasted has long has it did considering the giant mountain of anti consumer monetization practices that the game instantly strikes you with. You don’t even need to try out the game to know, one look at steam reviews and that is the number one complaint for like 80% of reviews.

Also they need to find ways to reduce the cost of ex battle pass items to ease the burden of powercreep because as long has that continues then the game will keep getting more and more repulsive to new players with each battlepass they release. The barrier of entry to this game keeps getting worse with the more items they introduce and yet despite adding more and more items the prices never go down. Devs need to take a leap of faith that they don’t have the balls to take because there end goal is to milk it for all its worth and just go bankrupt when all is said and done, that is they’re plan I think

I run a clan that is meant for new players. I get roughly 3 to 4 new recruits per week after cycling thru 3 to 4 older ones and I don’t think I sees any of them in general chat. They barely use clan chat let alone general chat. I think most people in general chat would be in at least the 5 digit range in terms of kills. The players I am talking about is the very new players. They come, try the game out for a few hours or even a month even and quickly realizes just how insulting the grind truly is and then jettisons out as fast as they came

I mean I get a lot of new players join my clan, new recruits for the game is not the problem! the problem is that the game keeps getting more repulsive for said players so the amount of fresh keepers in the game is getting less and less over time. The game is free to play and is one of the more popular free to play games on steam so there will probably always be a baseline of new faces it is just that the game is spitting in these new faces more and more over time with the powercreep and all.

I think they would mostly stay, regardless of the grind, because the grind can be easy at low ps, but toxic players, and theyre usually xout veterans, ogs and beta boys, drive them away.

I don’t know how the grind can be easy at low ps besides for the rare starter stuff that they starts you off with. After level 10 you are thrown to the wolves facing players who have all the upgraded ex battlepass items. CW/BFU excluded then playing full time the most you can expect to make is 4000 coin per month playing from daylight to dark while casual play will prob net you like 1000-2000 coin. The only way to make serious coin is being in a good clan cause battle for uranium is peanuts as well when you consider the grand scheme of things.

You find it hard…i dont, and many others dont find it hard either.

I consider there is only 10 good top clans, and i bet they dont rotate all their members thru clan wars. So, tho a clan is lovely, its not paramount if you believe you are capable without ore, without relics.
Im currently using 1 chord mg in 16k ps classic pvp. I do well, i top score, and i get multiple kills in match. I dont need uranium or cw, and im stacked, inventory and coin.
Incidentally, you said previously that low ps is hard, but you kind of contradict that by saying clan wars and uranium harvest is peanuts, but its not easy, its hard, hard to get in a clan, hard play.

I made a new account a while back ago to start fresh again and yes it is kinda hard. That account has a 5.5kd with over 2000 kills so it is not for lack of experience but the grind is slow and with how tough I had it I can only begin to imagine what the experience is like for true noobs. I also don’t even have epic weapons on that account let alone legendaries.

The game is not dieing in my opinion, because people have been speculating that the game is dieing for as long as ive played, years, and it hasnt yet. Everything comes to a end, but that doesn’t mean xout is dying anytime soon.
Frankly im gettn sick of hearing people say the game is dying or dead, when it obviously isnt, from what ive seen.

simple solution, make the blueprints for said items permanent instead of limited. however they wont ever do this because of this:

theres a reason for this, money.
they want to be able to sell us solutions later on. so they release mini battlepasses for 10 dollars or so to offset some of the market creep in pricing. its simple really. release a new bp item, the event ends and the price skyrockets, release a MBP (mini battlepass) with said items in it to lower the cost in the market. rinse, repeat for all bp items.
i took a look at the market place for legendary items and they are VERY high in price right now. theres very few weapons below 3k and some as high as 12k (athena) though alot of them are hovering between 4000 - 7000 coins per weapon. this is way to high for a legendary item. usually back then they floated around 3k per legendary but alot of guns, even common ones, are going for 4k+ now for some reason.
on hardware, dont even get me started on that nightmare.
finwhale alone is 15k per engine, pandoras 6.6k per box, pegasus and thor are 7k per item, oyabun is over 9.1k per engine and aquilo is over 6200 coins per item. somehow the apollo is 4.8k per generator and the cyclops is over 6.7k per item. jackie is also 5.9k while the omamori us 4700 per item.
this is just insanely expensive! whos going to want to buy any of this stuff?
heck the kami cabin is 12k in price and the nox is almost 10k. mainframe is 6k and the satori is 6.6k as well. before the myriad got tossed into the MBP it was around 3400 per leg, right now its at 2400.
dinos are 2.1k per leg.

the prices are downright insane, considering how long it takes to earn stuff in here as a new player i just wouldnt see a need to keep playing so i dont blame them for just saying “screw this game” and leaving.

I would suggest going to steam and reading the negative reviews (I read a few pages of them before skipping through to periods that had large amounts of negatives posted). It’s not just the microtransactions that are all over the place in the game though you’ll see this in some of my list… (The list is not in any particular order and don’t consider this a full list either. I mostly copy and pasted items.):

Grind/cost of production of items/taxation.
Seal clubbing and the way the kiddy pool works.
Toxicity in the game in general.
Negative support responses to things like hacking. (breaches players trust levels)
Allegations of P2W via the microtransactions.
Cost of the microtransactions - a number of complaints are they are overpriced.
Treatment of casual players (i.e) Daily player gets more out of a BP then a Weekly player can for the same price.
Storage and Slot costs. (adds to the grind)
Matchmaking
Gaijin’s business model
Power creep
Battlepass item recipes using other BP items that are no-longer craftable.
Some don’t like how Clans and Bands force social interaction and lock rewards behind it.
A few complained that you don’t get to keep your BP token currency rewards if you don’t spend them.
lack of in-game balance (mentioned often)

The negative player reviews I think have a big effect too, I would say this is one of the reason the game is slower to rebound then it use to. There’s a lot of rage quits that I read through…

You’re playing 16K ps, and the only weapon you have is one chord? Top score, multiple kills? I’d like to see a video of that.

Maybe if they lowered the costs across the board and increased resources then players might be in a better mood and thus less toxicity in the game LOL

Or Maybe introduce a crossout peace prize

lol… Possibly. I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten into little squabbles telling people not to tell people their teams suck when defeated in various modes.

There’s some situations like not getting to cap quick enough that could probably be improved with some audible sound warnings that might help. Similarly the clock count down in the last 30 or seconds of match could be a little flashier even if done sound wise. I get sucked into the game sometimes too so I can understand when others do the same.

I often find it amusing that the people that take the greatest offense at other peoples mistakes in a match are normally already dead. It’s like a bad peanut gallery though I understand their frustrations too.

I generally think a bunch of the problems outside of their business model.

Upgrades could get some PS increases. This would help a little with the seal clubbing. The kiddy pool introduction could be done more incrementally even though it shrinks the player pool a little for them. A player that is lvl 60+ probably shouldn’t be playing a player that is rank 30. With paid progression increases it’s never going to be perfect but they could attempt to minimize the impact a little.

Matchmaking could be worked on again. I generally don’t mind playing with people way over me, I always feel better when I lose in matches like that then when it’s not aa challenging.

Treatment of casual players - is an easy fix for BP switch the dailies to weeklies or do 2 sets of bi-weekly challenges. There are plenty of other daily challenges already.

Storage and Slot costs - Just get rid of them it’s an unneeded progression in the game.

Grind cost of production of items and items and taxation. I probably wouldn’t get rid of taxation but I would get rid of the workbench costs. Asking for 75 gold just to craft a legendary is a paywall that doesn’t have to exist this can be taken out in the taxes instead.

Battlepass item recipes using other BP items that are no-longer craftable.- This one is fixable even if they don’t want to use perm blueprints their original idea was to open up each temp factions workbenches when they are in play. If they place them in similar lvl order during the bp to increase it just makes the BP look more valuable for playing each time it’s run. It’s not like they have to give out upgraded versions as rewards on the repeated rewards just make them craft able. Offer them up as workpieces for badges too, it just increases the value of badges as well as increases the expenditure of badges.

Some don’t like how Clans and Bands force social interaction and lock rewards behind it. - They could easily make more band challenges that are meant for solo or smaller groups. There is no reason why bands and clans have to have the same challenges when one can have 5x the members.

I’d probably ease up on some of the microtransactions - The elite version of the BP is kind of an unfair advantage. Buying lvls I would probably leave to the last 3/4s of an event. I’d agree it kind of sucks some of the fun out of the market angle of the game when the last items in a BP are on the market on the first day of the BP.

A lot of the cosmetics in the store are overpriced too. Cosmetic purchases should be at feel good about it prices.

Negative support responses to things like hacking. (breaches players trust levels) - This one’s difficult but I have seen them give players back untradeable versions back. When I was reading through some of the player accounts that were posted on steam, I was really surprised that neither Gaijin or Steam replied to try to work any of it out publicly. I’m not sure if it’s an issue of having enough bilingual employees, I know the numbers are low in Russia as far as fluency goes (5% of population) however they should have someone dedicated to dealing with it.

I could go on but it’s just getting long lol… It would be nice if the Devs and Community managers tried to talk to us more outside of reddit.

Read most of what you said and yea there is too many injustices in this game and most of it is blatantly obvious very early on in the game. Yea, there is way more reasons then what I listed out in my original post but for simplicities sake I decided to go with what I think is the number one reason which is low rewards/income/market prices etc.

A ton of things need to be fixed if they want to attract new players because if nothing major changes there is no way of convincing new players that this game is worth their time all the while older veterans like myself slowly lay off the game to compound on the problem.

That’s kind of why I stopped when I did lol didn’t want too many TL;DR

I think that’s where a lot of the negative reviews come in to play. Many of them came with complements to the game too which makes it so much harder to wrap ones head around. I honestly don’t no if the business model is via Gaijin’s or Targem’s either as well as if they have some type of exclusivity deal. If they do it would make sense why we don’t see it on other game stores like Epic’s.

Some of their policies do not make sense either like prohibitions on selling accounts. I know some of that is like anti-hack measures but still those cases tend to be slightly low outside of data breaches.

I get it but at the same time I’m trying to be fair to Targem too. I know it’s more complex then just monetization and I couldn’t sleep so I might show some of it while doing other things. I also get tired of hearing the same stuff as well. So I wanted to show some that weren’t brought up as I do like the game. I wouldn’t still be playing it if I didn’t.

I think much of it is fear of how far the game spans in terms of how long it takes to work your way up from 0. I still think it’s better than it use to be though the tutorial should probably earn you something from each weapon category so you can freely participate in the mini-passes to get the scout containers at this point. That’s just to avoid the negatives of how the system is set up against earning in to a stable account. It might be a little subjective too as I remember how hard it was to earn those epic seasonal crates years ago when starting out.

I remember the feeling, when I started a month or so in there was a 1/2 price sale on the original born to fly pack that I bought so I could afford to craft and bought the gas generator. I remember sitting there calculating out how many items I had to craft to pay out opening a workbench. Crafting wise the workbenches have gotten a little better but they could just remove that paywall and just move it to the taxes. That way it doesn’t penalize the people trying to craft their own way up. Situated players can deal with that cost overhang better than the new players can.

That’s super true.

Again true.

Same issue on myside I can do a weekly batch of bp missions in a day or two. New players can’t generally do that. It’s the same with badge earnings too as an older solo player I can get a lot more badges than new players can. However they should be taking advantage of the 200 weekly badges that are available via the player made brawls. I don’t think that is messaged well to them as many of them use pre-made builds.

I get their hesitance to make changes away from daily grind too. However they might be able to draw more players if they upped the reward for the dailies. I would suggest to change it per battle because not everyone can spend the same amount of time in game. Even if it’s 3 different players in the battles it’s still 3 players.

I’d also drop the min players for raids by half many of them can be done with only 2 players. Let players play the modes they want when they want. There’s a lot of player friendly stuff they could do. I can do a quick game or two each day. I just don’t want to have to wait a half hour to find that the mode I’d like to play pop up when I happen to be on. I saw similar reading through the complaints. Letting players play what they want when they want would also show them a lot of where to focus their dev efforts to as well.

If there’s a scale trust me I have probably played it from either stuff I know from songs or things i made up while noodling around. I do visualise the fretboard like half the times in scales and extract chords from the scales but truth be told theres like thousands of 7 note scales and you will never learn them all if that is the main approach. The other half of the times I visualize the fretboard in 3 note triads, or larger arpeggios and then integrate it with the scales and then branch off so I don’t sound repetitive and learn the scales as I go. Most of the times it sounds good but sometimes I hit a note that don’t fit but I am getting better at it.

I try to check in when I’m near a device, plus it doesn’t hurt that I’m around computers often. In my off days I don’t even want to look.

I think players need to use the game idea suggestion form more too:

One of the first options is the option to: “Suggestion to change the existing content”

They can use translation software just as much as we can. It might be easier for them if we translate first though. I do wonder if they have a similar form on the ru version of the forum I just can’t remember at the moment if they do or not.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they (Devs) do not see much of what is posted in the forums. @Quaero_et_tego Do you you have any idea how much of what we post is seen by the Devs? Are you allowed to tell us?

I think they hardly pays much attention to reddit let alone the forum. Back before they nerfed the skadi, I offered my suggestions both here and over on reddit. Guess what happened? absolutely nothing, they went ahead and knocked the 130m off the range of the skadi anyways despite me and a couple other users voicing their displeasure on reddit.

It should be pretty obvious that they hardly ever take outside feedback. Like how often do you hear of the devs making tweaks to preplanned changes from the test server? I say they they make some form of alterations for about 1 in 100 preplanned changes from the test server and that is just when they are looking for feedback which probably means that the rest of the time they got their ears 100% completely shut.

It’s hard to tell I see things come out that were old ideas and sometimes new fixes that mirror things people have said. Other times not so much.

I know they listened a bit earlier on but it was before reddit and before the forums got super toxic/new forum change over with some of the nerfs/buffs.

The test server is often nearly or completely dead, I managed to get on on the last test, Couldn’t get my data to copy over, mentioned it in chat, server went down and came back up, issue still persisted with a different error code. Mentioned it still wasn’t working didn’t get an answer.

I actually hope they check who actually logs in and who leaves opinions as I think most people just give a gut answer about the changes with out any viable testing.

It’s also nearly impossible to tell if they are using old ideas from a backlog or current ones as they don’t say thanks to any players that submit ideas or suggestions. I remember people asking for Heli blades years ago and they were like no but maybe as just decor. Similarly I remember a lot more mods chiming in over if they sent something up the chain or not. That type of interaction went down over time as I said above.

Will they do do that Q and A thing from time to time soo maybe they do? but I know with regards to the test server they just about never factor in any feedback, that one is very obvious when you think about it because they hardly ever roll back or tweak any changes once a test server is finished.

I almost get the feeling that the devs does less than the bare minimum on purpose when it comes to listening to player feedback just to give the illusion that they are listening so that way players will stay more engaged with the game thinking that they may be being heard when the reality is the exact opposite.

That is why they post that q and a thing I dear say! not that it is they cares but they just want the players to think that they cares

Well the link that they had on the test servers or any other anouncement usually leads to a reddit post so I assumed that is the official means that they use to gather feedback(or at least pretend like they are gathering feedback). You know they might throw a scattered bone once in a while and say “look we are listening” so everyone will be more engaged so they can maximize profits.
