What kinds of things do you think are drastically different between the platforms?
The badge system is the same, right? Do you really think none of what I say applies to your platform?
I dont follow all changes in this game anymore and yes, Monkey said is enough if you join a clan. I’ve seen a lot in last 6 yrs here thats why you never know what can expect from devs.
No one ever said you get badges even if you never play. It was explained over and over that you still need to do a bare minimum of activity to get your clan badges. And of course you will get none of your solo badges if you don’t play, just like it always was.
Yes. If he’s not, I will. That’s exactly what he has said, and others too. I’ve repeatedly heard that some people “just log on and receive hundreds of badges that my clan earned for me, in my absence.” This is part of what I mean when I say it sounds like an alternate universe.
Also, it takes a long ass time to level up any faction, let alone grind your way into earning any prestige parts, so building a clan war competitive build in only a couple months sounds absurd to me.
Just getting it to where you have a build parts maximum above 60 pieces takes forever. You might, if you’re real busy, grind your way into an entry level Clan War build that’ll allow you to get in to them, and then get pwnd by the META all day in there, but even confrontation mode is more competitive than what would allow for that to go very well, on PC.
Noobs get pwnd on PC, and that’s why I suppose, that the population numbers here are in a free fall, despite all the marketing gimmicks the developers are fastidiously producing and releasing.
Do I have to go into how bad the market is here (I don’t feel like it and I won’t), and how you guys over there like to say you can very simply, and with minor diligence, earn enough coins to buy a relic every week? That schit doesn’t happen here easily, so it makes me wonder what it’s like on console.
You guys make it sound so easy, but that’s not at all what I see here.
No one ever said you don’t need to play at all.
What we did say is that if you are in an active clan, you don’t need to stress about the individual clan challenges, because they will organically get completed. As long as you play a few matches per week to be considered “active”, you will get the badges from your clan.
For example, I don’t care about raids, but other people in my clan do. So I get those badges, even though I don’t have to play any raids to get them.
This was all that we were trying to explain, but people got so worked up about hating Monkey that apparently they didn’t actually read what some of us were trying to explain.
The fact that both you and Kuba seem to genuinely believe that anyone was saying you can get badges without even playing the game really says a lot about how conversations go here.
Edit: a good example of this is you thinking that I said it’s easy to grind out a CW build in two months, when if you actually look at my posts, I have repeatedly said “9kPS”, which is definitely not CW.
Another edit: where are you getting this idea that me or anyone said it’s easy to grind out a relic in a week? What I actually posted is that it’s easy to grind out an epic item in a week, because it is. Doesn’t matter what platform. I grinded out an Argus in two days this week, and didn’t have to sell anything to get it. Just played a bunch of matches, and spent those resources crafting the ingredients. Anyone can do that, even a new player.
Do you get your factions close to leveling and cap your boost before leveling each faction to reset your xp boost to level up factions faster?, I agree this game is quite the grind to get the XP needed to level each faction, but like most good games, they take time to progress.
I have not played PC yet, I want to say the leveling up process is the same and equally frustrating with how long it takes tom level factions, im sure ill experience it soon. Noobs on console also get their butts handed to them, specially if they just plant parts to get them into higher power score territory.
As far as the clan badges I do believe console / pc is the same, logging in does get you badged if your clan progresses your status higher by finishing challenges/confrontation
I think we both know how ridiculous it sounds, and what I am doing is trying to explain why what is often described here doesn’t sound anything like the game I’m playing.
And, oh god yes, people, especially Monkey, have repeatedly gloated about how easy it is to get badges, and that they literally do nothing but log on to receive them. I think somebody even said that here on this thread or elsewhere, very recently.
EDIT:
DarthStall (this very thread): “I regularly log on and get notified of hundreds of badges that my Clan earned for me while I was at work or away from the game.”
I’m not bagging on Darth. All I’m saying is, yes, people claim to do nothing but log on and receive hundreds of badges. This isn’t even unusual in the current conversation, and it makes it seem as though we are playing different games…and perhaps having different conversations?
I dont have to believe in it, I’ve seen it, it’s not some kind of imaginary idea. I don’t know why you’re still defending that . You also can go and check his posts about that topic, its not that difficult.
Good luck
I also log on and get hundreds of badges from things my clan mates did. I didn’t realize we needed to also specify that we also play at least five matches a week. Seemed like a given, not something that needed to be spelled out.
Anyway, I also know that both me and Monkey posted repeatedly about the “activity” requirement, because of the various threads about why some of us couldn’t seem to accumulate any activity initially. Activity was never something wasn’t acknowledged. It just wasn’t talked about much, because it takes so little activity to unlock those badges.
'you still need activity points to collect badges, but if you don’t collect Confron points to unlock the levels and help your team ‘your just a Freeloader’
I do log on and receive hundreds of badges. I received 350 on Monday for the first games I’ve played all week. But Here’s how it works: You have to have a minimum confrontation rating to get any clan badges. The minimum Confrontation Rating can be achieved by playing 5-10 games and not trying to achieve any particular result.
I am a regular player, but I no longer make badges a focus, and I receive nearly 2000 badges a week by just doing what I’d ordinarily do in the game. I do make a point of playing Confrotation and Clan Wars as these boost my confrontation rating.
My weekly confrontation rating is usually about 4600 to 5000. I achieve this without making special efforts to do so, other than playing a 40 minute session of CC once per week.
People with CCs as low as 1000 still get badges, and it takes no effort other than logging on and playing the game once per week to get 1000 confrontation rating.
This has changed my behavior and made the game more fun for me. I don’t play any raids, except friends often rope me in to doing a 10 set of Invasion. This is great as Invasion is the only fun raid. My friends are achieving passive income for me.
You are moving goalposts and playing word games. I expect better of you.
You can scroll up and see that I originally noted that our hypothetical new player would need to join a clan to maximize their grind. I’m not sure why this is so distasteful to some people, but even if you don’t join a clan, you can still progress at a decent rate just by focussing on the solo challenges. Do I need to specify that you can only clear solo challenges if you actually play the game?
Anyway, to get back to the original question of how long it would take a new player to grind out a decent 9kPS build:
you don’t need to use 80 parts at that PS level
you also don’t need to unlock the higher level structure pieces, because most of them will raise your PS too much.
there are very dependable older items available very cheap on the market. It does not need to be expensive to make a decent build for that PS. It’s only expensive to make the “best” builds, and does anyone really need that to be competitive at that level?
well, well, looky here! welcome to the mother loving party!
@poony: i got the mad dog savage on board!
but seriously
“I’m pretty confident in my two month estimation, in part because I watched Rough Monkey grind out a decent 9kPS build over just a few days”
followed by
Yes, he bought a couple packs to get some stuff to play the market with, but that’s why I said two months instead of two days.
youre trolling again! its not fair! its honestly a complete non sequitur.
to you and to sofaking i say, i played cw back when and got 3 relics without spending any money. do this and come back saying the game isnt p2w. its impossible! also on pc, because console always looked fake (one love, maddoc!)
and yes, buying just a bit here and there means you failed the experiment and no longer are f2p.
also sofaking: “This week it only took a few hours after work for 3 nights to fully fuse 3 Emilys on a toxic 2499 build FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
thats the bad faith argument i was talking about in my previous response to poony!
the game isnt p2w because that would mean you yourself can actually go this low, right? and also play at only 2500k ps, hehe.
