How long would it take to page up that freebies and promos thread? You can get a full rare build right off the bat, if you’re just a little thrifty.
My F2P account has a fused Hardcore, just from the free stuff they give away.

And then 2 teals and an epic for doing the confrontation challenges.
Yeah, I purposely left all that bonus stuff out to prove a point, but when you factor that stuff in, you could be participating in confrontation mode within a few weeks of downloading Crossout.
That is really not much time at all.
Having said that, I don’t know if I’ll ever end up with relics. At the moment, they’re adding new epic and legendary items often enough that I feel like I’m never going to run out of new toys.
From my experience, some people (not employed by Targem or Gaijin) will buy a following through running events that pay-out with in-game coins. Eventually, said people, get mad about something, then, blast it out on youtube and other areas to their following…THEN, it’s the following doing all the dirty work just because their grand event organizer said so. That’s what I’m seeing on my end of things.
Replying to the original post:
You list things you say people are complaining about, but I have honestly never encountered anyone complaining about those things.
I do see people complaining, including myself and most of the members here and on other social media platforms. so your points are not completely invalid.
I believe most of the complaining is the result of the developers repeatedly changing things in the game people liked. To a lesser extent, it is then changing things in the game that people were simply accustomed to.
More often than not, these changes are perceived to be for the worse.
I’m not saying the developers have never done anything good. Far from it. Up until August of this year, I thought the game was better than it had ever been. Far better, in fact.
But you ask why people complain, I don’t know how you can play this game and not understand why people complain. It seems like it is a different game every 2 months. If you like it, and are having a good time, just wait a few weeks. They’ll ruin it.
If you like the new wonky game that emerges from that, just give that a few weeks, and they will ruin that too.
I hope a Doctor Savage is correct in that they have some new grand scheme to make the game better in the long run and they are working towards that goal.
Some people do go a bit too far in blaming the game developers, but at the same time there are still issues developers haven’t addressed, such as balance, which is a key issue
Can you be more specific? I’d like to hear what you think is good
That would be a very long thread in and of itself.
The one you think is best.
I half agree with you, but still need to change the game that it would not get bored and boring. But do it in moderation.
In that case, it’s the attention to tiny details.
If you watch certain guns as they fire, you’ll see new shells being loaded while the spent casings fall to the ground. There’s smoke, sparks, and even sound effects for the spent casings impacting the terrain. Those sounds are different for each shell type. That’s just an example of the details I’m referring to. Pan around some of the cabins & peek inside. You’ll see fully laid out dashes with tons of attention to details that most players will never see. They are getting more detailed as they go. If you look at some of the early structural parts, they are not as detailed as the new parts in many cases.
It truly is impressive.
Do it in moderation. That is where this game fails miserably.
Twice in the short time I’ve been playing this game, they have made changes that completely broke every build I had. To clarify, the builds could not function.
The first was a while back when they suddenly changed the mass of tons of parts. They really hit bumpers hard. Suddenly, none of my builds could move.
The second was not as severe. This was when they added all of those specific resistances to every structural part. My builds technically still worked, but they all had to be seriously rethought to make sure they were optimized.
It’s just dumb to make changes that require your players to stop what they planned to do to address your changes to even be able to play.
They truly have no regard for their playerbase.
. If changes need to be made then they need to be made. Who cares if you have to take 5min to move a few parts.
Balance should not be determined on if it inconveniences you or not.
I could absolutely get relics on PC. Harder and take longer than Xbox? Yes. But only a month, maybe two longer.
I complain because I want stuff fixed or I see a problem. I shout when they remap the buttons for sure. I complained about the engineer badge removal. Enough people did that they changed it so solo players still have a route.
If you do not complain about what you think needs fixed… how do you ever expect it to be fixed?
People that complain are more vocal, people that are happy are busy playing not complaining.

I figured this was true. Some of these guys on the forum decided a long time ago that getting relics and even legendary items are for whales only and it is impossible for them to get this type of gear for free.
I’m glad they think this to be honest. That means more for us.
I just hope if new players are reading this forum, they realize that many of these guys have given up on the game a long time ago and to take all the salt with a grain of… salt
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the people who dominate Clan Wars are wallet warriors who have made significant credit card purchases to get there. A lot of people have spent thousands on this game, and how do you compete with people like that? I’ve heard how people brag about their inventories of god-fused everything, and how much money they’ve spent on this game. It’s astounding.
Sure, technically you could grind out a clan war build with god fused relics, but who does that? I would suggest that you’d have to be crazy to even try it that way. Just bust out the Visa. That’s insane.
It’s absurd to even think about the grind in front of you when you consider what it takes to fund a successful Clan Wars build. Just mapping out the crafting necessary would take hours. It would be way easier to just Visa that, and why on earth wouldn’t you?
Nobody grinds their clan war builds, and even if they did, who wants to be that guy? I don’t even think the developers work that hard at this game.
I think people who started playing clan wars in the early years of the game would have been able to grind out relics. Seems like once you start winning in CW, the rewards are substantial.
Hard to get there now though, because the top is dominated by those veterans and newer wallet warriors.
early years of the game would have been able to grind out relics.
You can grind 2 relics f2p in about a year on pc. And I mean grinding, not casual play. You cannot expect the best weapons for free if you don’t put in the “engagement level” to earn them “free”.
Most players don’t have the patience to sell and then save, that is on them, not the actual progression allowed in the game. These are habits they carry in real life translated to their game life.
Edit: forgot
because the top is dominated by those veterans
This part is true. Dunno bout the rest of that statement though, inexperienced people are still inexperienced people no matter how much they spend.
I mean it’s a matter of priorities too. I don’t care about CW, so I would rather have lots of different epic and legendary items than a few relics. I also want my Crossout time to be fun, and not feel like work, so I’m not going to do things I don’t enjoy just to get relics faster.
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the people who dominate Clan Wars are wallet warriors who have made significant credit card purchases to get there.
I know a few guys that spent thousands in this game - but most CW guys I know (hundreds of them) play the BPs and buy a pack here or there.
It’s a mindset - they decided to be an end game player and made that a goal - focusing all their game time and resources on a competitive build, then once you have that build you have the means to earn everything else at a fast rate.
I have known guys that were able to get a relic build in like 4-6 months from starting the game.
So people make excuses for how it can’t be done - and other guys just do it.
