Why is the vindicator so unpopular?

Plus you need 8 to make a real spider

The legs do still struggle on hills though, and are a bit vulnerable to melee, so I don’t think they wipe out the viability of other parts in high PS, but they are definitely a top contender.
I’m still seeing some great hover pilots out there though, so I don’t think those are going away any time soon.

Slepnirs sit two blocks below the frame, whereas the armored (triangle) track sits only 1 below. If you lose front legs and dip and those tracks touch the ground, theyll make it so you cant strafe at times. I tried each, but settled on the triangle tracks as the consistently better option. If you knew you were going to face an all dog team, slepnirs would be the way. But smart cannon, scorp and even MG players will analyze the build and simply take the front 2 or 3 legs, and start circling you as your rotation lags behind when you cant strafe away simultaneously with rotating.

But results may vary. But im mostly talking about what happens against players in top 5 CW games.

People use to laugh when I’d say in raids I like to take out legs for practice.

Maybe an auger or two on the front might be the trick. With golden eagle I could keep the 70kmh top speed (or at least get over 60).

I think you want to use a track or wheel that does not lower the speed cap.

Even something like a Sabbath wheel would give you 1600+/- (I’m not on the game so I don’t know exact) tonnage.

Plus you get bonus power from the perk.

Augers wouldn’t limit the speed if I used golden eagle though, and one or two on the front can be an effective dog and shotgun deterrent.
Ideally I’d like it to be all legs though.

Yes, but what if you use the new legendary engine instead to gain the extra power on top of having the 70 top speed?

Good point, although I find it hard to predict how much power drain triggers that power boost. Would six gerridas and some wheels be enough? Because otherwise it wouldn’t be a big power difference from using golden eagle and an auger.
Lots of combinations to try!

The pegasus is the only correct answer for heavy cab gerrida builds imo, with exception of goliath track armor builds. Then the golden eagle is the move. Hot red for Mastodon cohorts if you need to run the radar

Depends totally on how many and how harsh the movement parts are.

edit typo man to many

Yeah, but in my brief experiments with the engine, sometimes I have put what I thought was a lot of heavy movement parts on a build, and then been surprised to see that the power bonus wasn’t that big. Other combinations seemed to make a huge power increase. I just haven’t used the engine enough to be able to predict how it responds to various loads.

On my large spider I’m doing 12 movement parts 8 balls 4 legs it’s still fairly fast.

You can do 4 legs and 8 roller wheels, but that build will be pretty disabled by losing a single leg.

It does sound like it will look cool, but I would rather more legs and less wheels.

Have fun brother!

@60915652 No the wheels just take over it’s not disabled at all.
