You know, maybe with the new engine it might give you enough power. I’m not sure I tried the cabin with the new engine yet.
But then again - Oppressor for speed might also be a good idea.
It’s always fun to at least try

Most of the time my goal with any build is to try to come up with a combination that I don’t see every
match.
Most of those experiments don’t work, so my mission history can look like a mess sometimes.
I love balance updates, but not because of problems they might fix, but instead because of new build possibilities that they can enable.
What movement parts are you thinking?
I’m not sure yet. In the past I had the most success with ML-200s, but this change opens up some other possibilities, and I’ve barely experimented with Pegasus.
I’ll definitely try omniwheels, and/or augers. Might do a track build too. I suspect I’ll need more gerrida legs to make them work.
I like the idea of doing a Bigfoot build, but I don’t know what weapons I would choose for that.
Do you have bigrams? They just buffed those too.
Plus you get less spread.
That’s probably the smartest option, but I never really liked the feel and look of them. But it’s been a while, and I’ve got eight of them, so I’ll give them another try.
They’d actually be a good option for a vindicator build, if I can’t get enough tonnage out of gerrida legs.
Yeah, the main problem with Vindi is the spread.
Falcon + Bigrams help.
This. The bonus is percentage based. The cabin shouldn’t be used with low durability weapons if you want maximum benefit. This is true if the cabin goes 20 kph or 180 kph.
Nova - Bigram - Vindicator is still my personal favorite.
Two of those things are getting a buff at the same time. So that build combo will be stronger. I’m not saying this will become popular again, but the build as a whole will be better if someone does play that build.
Definitely Gerridas for a Michinist build imo. And if you make a tunnel for guns like vindicators, they wont take damage until you are facing the enemy. Put snow plows mounted vertically attached to the vindicators and theyll survive a double scorp shot from the side with minimal damage seeping through.
Can the Machinist take advantage of the full speed of them?
I haven’t played with this combo, not sure if with engines and drivers you can cap it out.
I’ll have to test this when I’m online tonight.
Certainly certain engines would cap it. Even the worst should have it around 66 out of 70
What I’m wondering is how many gerridas I’ll need to max out the tonnage with a cheetah/oppressor. And whether it might be better to use lots of legs and Pegasus/colossus.
Like 8 or 10, I would have to guess. You could also add a track/wheel in the front middle to reduce that number. Even with a track you would want at least 7 (4 forward and 3 back) that makes it so if you loss a leg or two you don’t instancing dip to that corner.
It’s not a cheep build for sure.
Use a Pegasus as its perk gives massive engine power to make legs work. Then add a couple of Sleipnirs in the front as an unbeatable wall against Firedogs. Try 8 Gerrida, 2 Sleipnir on a Pegasus engine. If that doesn’t work, try 10 Gerrida. or, maybe wait for them to buff the Machinist tonnage before you spend all your money and stuff crafting Gerridas. Cheese it with a non steering Hermit in the interim as these solve all tonnage problems.
So far I have six fused gerridas from the BP, and I think I’m going to keep spending all the lighters on those. Pretty sure I can get at least 8 by the end of the BP season.
I’m really liking how they feel compared to any other strafing part. I tried playing an old hover build yesterday and hated how unstable they feel compared to these new legs.
The new roller wheels also seem very nice, but I don’t have the coin to invest heavily in a pack-only item.
Sleipnirs as frontal armour is a good idea, and I’m definitely going to try that. Will probably wait for the balance update though.
This is also my plan.
That’s what I’m doing as well. I really wanted the fused Retchers for my leviathan, and raids and stuff but Retchers are cheap and seem to get offered about twice per year. Also, I rarely run as the leviathan anyway. It might be a year before you see fused Gerridas again and they are a movement part so good you can build an endgame account around them.
Yeah, even though I’m still not interested in CW, I like to have some high PS builds in my roster, and these legs are good for that style of play.
Plus they look and feel a lot cooler than hovers or omniwheels.
Right, the Gerrida ride stability is absurd. Omni wheels have lame deceleration and are bumpy, hovers rock all over the place, while Gerridas have hover like acceleration and leg stability.
