Same shit at 9k, if the 15ks get sick of 15k and go to 9k they are just as prevalent. Then there are also the tempura lacerator bricks with 4 hermits and 2 sabbaths. And just about everything has catalina.
Everything hover is op since 2.0, they spent 3 years nerfing and nerfing them till they were in a good spot, then buffed them back to when they added them and nerfed everything else. And don’t get me started on the snow, talk about tone death, everyone is complaining about hovers, lets do an event that makes it even harder to use anything else.
Yeah, but all those nerfs apparently weren’t good enough as people still wanted more, I rather people just say they want hovers out of the game than cry for nerfs when no nerf will satisfy them, now for your point about hovers being back to where they were when introduced, that’s actually factually incorrect as when I started over 4 years ago the height hovers hovered at was at least double then what they hover around at now, thus why dog builds mount hatchets so high above the front of their builds to try to knock off the hovers.
Do you mean the 4 or the 7? one hovers like twice as high as the other now
I probably wouldn’t miss them, but as long as they aren’t at plague levels in the game, I don’t care. As long as I don’t have to build specifically to counter them all the time.
I think their ability to host cannons is too far fetched, even for this game, but whatever.
I don’t use them because they are wobbly, un-fun to navigate, spin and bounce around in circles, and the all the rider feed back is nerfed in the form of a perk (immunity to terrain). The overall feel to them is either a frustrating or hushed experience for me, even if I manage to get it to work. I’m not saying I find them completely un-enjoyable, but even the sound of the engine is weak and devoid of excitement. They’re too soft and squishy, for my taste, but that’s probably what other people like about them. That, and they’re probably OP. IDK. They’re pretty popular, but I don’t care for them.
In the other day some guy at some topic complaining about hovers posted a reddit link where he had a video , it was a montage of him torturing several hovers with the the syndicate grenade launcher.
I noticed in the right corner a text where it said Devs would listen to what people had to say in that platform.
Great i thought, i don’t do reddit, the devs don’t do forums.
Just imagine if…
agreed
Agreed.
Only community managers come to the forum and Reddit. There are no dev team members that interact with the community directly on those platforms.
They do post on VK the Russian social platform sometimes
what a way to kick start the new year by getting slaughtered by more mg hovers. There was a third arbiter hover as well hounding me on the opposite side and they weren’t even a clan just randoms. Basically all 14k matches is like this. Can’t steer proper because of the ice even with my surface traction winter tires so what can you do.
Actually when they were asking for new mods they asked if they would do meetings with them. I don’t know what comes of that though…
I’m starting to get used to the new hover metas, and figuring out their weaknesses.
One of the good things about so many people running hovers in certain PS ranges is that if you build a car specifically to counter hovers, you have a lot of potential victims to target.
Things that I have found that work against hovers currently:
- skinner plus any close range weapon. A lot of hovers are trying to fight in closer ranges now, so you have more opportunities to snag one with a harpoon.
- dog ears on anything fast with close range weapons. I know this isn’t new, but like with skinners, there are more MG and SH hovers getting into close range battles, and snagging them on your ears is still very effective.
- whirls! The impulse knocks hovers off balance, and the perk is useful when getting swarmed by a group of hovers.
- Having some occasional success against hovers with a hadron/executioner/king/spider. Unfortunately spaced armour is still way too effective against cannon shells, but at least the explosions knock hovers off balance, and the fast reload allows me to keep pounding them. And the single king is useful when getting swarmed by close range weapons.
I’m curious what other combos people are finding effective against the current state of hovers. Any suggestions?
executioner and toadfish is the best I got. I finds executioners work pretty well and the 25% faster projectile speed executioner is a must but I plays what I wants, i am not limiting myself to just 2 or 3 builds just because of one movement part. I am having no part to the single flavor that crossout has become, before 2.0 it was a combo of burgers, fries and coke but now it is all just fries. What drives me most about hovers is not that i am losing to them, that part gets to me a little but no big deal but the main deal is that I am just sick and tired of seeing the same builds over and over and over. Not only are they all hovers they are basically all the same type of hover builds, I tell yea crossout has never been so stale has it is now with exception of the new off we go mode is the only thing keeping my sanity. I don’t care what counters there is I am just sick of seeing so many.
I’m still seeing lots of other movement parts in PVP on PS4, across a wide range of PS.
The higher you go, the more hovers, but that’s always been the case.
I occasionally get a match where all the human players on one team might be hovers, but I don’t think I’ve ever been in a match where all human players on both sides were hovers.
I’m not saying they’re balanced necessarily, but I’m still seeing a lot more variety on the battlefield than others are claiming to see.
What I do see is that a high percentage of the really serious players are on hovers, because of their obvious versatility and advantages. But it’s not like a competitive skilled player can’t win on other movement parts: I see it all the time. Hovers are just the obvious choice for the kind of player that only has fun when winning, and most people will always take the obvious choice.
But Crossout is still a building game, and a good percentage of all players (including the need-to-win people) are always going to be the types of people that will look for not-so-obvious things to exploit. I still see those people in game, playing all kinds of movement parts and weapons.
your on console, come to pc and see for yourself. I said it 4 or 5 times already but literally 85% of players are on hovers and if that is a exaggeration it is a bare minimum of 75%. I might even do a little survey tomorrow just to see how accurate my estimate is. I will record my play session and count exactly how many hovers there are and I am almost certain it will be at least 3 quarters of players minimum. Ill do a 2 hour session at high ps and report back on the results.
I might do the same, although I don’t always get a clear look at all the players in many matches, so it will be tough to make it scientific.
Might just keep track of the other players on my team.
I still see a lot of spiders, increasing numbers of omniwheels, a mixture of epic wheels, and occasionally tracks and augers. My guess is that hovers might be about 30% of the humans when I’m playing above 10kPS, and probably closer to 50% when I go up to 15kPS.
Below 10kPS I don’t see nearly as many hovers, especially if you go lower than 7kPS. These are just guesses though, based on my experiences on PS4 in North America.
Edit: if you do record the results of a long play session, can you also list the numbers for the other movement parts you see?
I mean 50% in just regular pvp is high enough and it is way higher than that on pc but I might start a new separate thread with my findings when I gets around to conducting my hover population survey so give it 2 or 3 days when I am up too it. Devs should put it back to 550 ps like they had it before, if they are gonna dominate clan wars that is fine ps has no little bearing in clan wars and they will always be there regardless of power score but for regular pvp players like myself since they dropped the ps I got no way of getting away from them and they are as tanky as ever so that ps drop was a huge blow to reg pvp players. At least before 2.0 the population was still high but at least they didn’t have much armor so when say i saw something like a scorpion/typhoon hover I would deliberately chase that player down knowing that he prob had like only 500 hp tops on his cab but now that same player probably got like 2000-3000 on top of the space armor so chasing hovers expecting quick kills if you can even hit them is not a viable strategy no more in regular pvp at medium ps.
Also the time of day you are playing affects how many hovers you see, i finds it is worst during peak hours when all the hardcore russians are on but during the low hours the problem is kind of tamer and you might see a few more tracks and augers but it is still bad even during quiet hours.
I didn’t notice that many last night and I played mostly pvp on pc till around 5am… So I know I closed out a few time zones.
For some people one hoover is too many unfortunately. Somebody wants them out of the game. Others want them nerfed to the dust. It has been nerfed 3 times since the buff.
I did a quick little survey and watched videos spanning 8 matches which is a small sample size over a short period of time so don’t take this has gospel. This is during non hardcore quiet hours with not has many russians playing so during peak hours the percentages will probably be higher. Out of 65 builds I tallied over 8 matches 40 were hovers which comes to 61.54% of builds being hovers so basically 2 out of every 3 builds.
