IMO in Slaughter it is more often determined by the sheer numbers of leavers and/or “conjoined” builds on each side.
Im sure there are many new strategies and meta builds for slaughter mode, but that doesnt change the fact that targem puts you in this game mode at random, meaning if you are a lancer or ammo user or long ranged sniper build in normal games, slaughter mode changes the game completely.
The gamemode only caters to certain types of players and leaves the rest of the people to just quit or keep getting slaughtered for 3 minutes.
What would you do when your build is not made for slaughter?, keep feeding points to the enemy or just dont play the rigged game?.
Id say this slaughter mode only encourages more people to play cloaking wedge shotgun or piercer builds, because they can do the most burst damage, and thus populating normal games with these kinds of players even more.
Such a shame crossout put so much time in creating a plethora of different weapons, only to hamstring themselves because of this gamemode and because they dont know how to balance gameplay.
I say this is the biggest problem with this mode. Imagine you queueing up for a mission but you get thrown in a raid. Imagine trying to play game mode like Bedlam but you end up in Red Light. Some people dislike Slaughter for that very reason.
So i tried a few slaughter games with my melee miner.
The games ranged from 6 vs 1 player, 5 vs 2 players, 4 vs 3 players and everything in between.
i felt bad for the guys i kept killing because they had a smaller team.
This gamemode is so unbalanced its become rediculous.
The main problem is people quitting immediately.
With two full teams, it’s no less balanced than normal PVP.
Yet people quit for good reasons and i dont blame them
100% agreement from me.
I do not take broken things and “play around them”…bad implementation is bad implementation.
It is a big spoon of copium when you have to make up your own challenges for a mode because it isn’t fun. That is design failure.
It is ok to make up your own challenges that add to gameplay that is already fun, not to make it fun. The basic game mode should be fun in design and implementation regardless of self imposed goals.
NO. The game mode is quite obviously not implemented in a fun way if there are mass amounts of players leaving a mode. That is NOT players faults, it is design & implementation problem.
Players leaving en mass does not support this assumption.
I don’t know if it’s safe to assume people are quitting because it’s unbalanced. Sounds more like some of you just hate the mode, which is fair.
The unbalanced part seems mostly to do with one team having more active players.
I mean I get the complaints about some weapons doing poorly in this mode, but that’s the same problem with some maps and some weapons.
I guess I’m more the type of person to try my best under any circumstance. It’s only a few minutes of my time, so why does it matter if I score poorly?
I don’t hate the mode. I dislike the implementation. If I want to participate, it locks me into a much different build than normal pvp… and in normal pvp that build does not perform at peak.
So I have to either compromise efficiency in both modes or have a build that really isn’t very good for 1/3 of the games I que for.
So you want the actual game mode to dictate your score, not your build and skills?
I do find the mode fun.
No, I mean that I only get a slaughter match maybe once every ten matches, so might as well make the most of it. And since scores tend to be higher, I can potentially get more resources out of it, so why not try?
Similarly, if I’m playing nests or artillery and end up in a PVP match on Sector X, I know I am unlikely to score well, but I’m still going to try. Sometimes I even figure out new ways to make the most out of using the wrong weapons for that map.
I treat this brawl (that’s what it is) like junk mail. I didn’t ask for it, don’t want it, ain’t gonna deal with it. Not my problem. Sorry, but I just bail on that mode. It’s not my fault they put it in the wrong queue.
I’m a PVP addict, play almost nothing else, and never asked for a different mode. What I want is more maps.
I like raids too, but the maps need refreshing or more variety.
I’ve never liked brawls, and unless there is some new or unusual decor or paint involved, I’m not interested, and typically I don’t like them when I do play them. So, when I get queued into Slaughter there is nothing there for me. I leave. Sorry…not sorry. It’s clearly in the wrong rotation.
I can’t say it sucks, because all brawls suck, IMO, and I’m just biased I guess. I like the capture the flag premise they already used in PVP and that’s about it. The rest of what I enjoy about this game amounts to structure parts, paint, and decor, and we’ve seen some good stuff in that department lately. So, thanks, Devs.
I like the new Artillery feature on the Fortress map. That’s cool. Not OP. Useful sometimes, if not just as an excuse to fight over something. I like interactive maps and this was well implemented, and a good idea, I think…thanks again, Devs.
Slaughter seems out of place to me. Would anybody play it if it weren’t?
To be fair, sometimes Slaughter uses some of those special event brawl maps, so we kind of get new maps. I forgot about the acid pond in one of them, and drove off a cliff into it thinking I was taking a shortcut.
I think it should be its own mode as well, but I suspect not enough people would play it, and I would end up ignoring it like most brawls.
I hate waiting more than 30 seconds for a match, and on PS4 I usually have to wait much longer for any brawl.
Indubitably. Condoning the bad work is toxic positivity. Fun-shmun but people should not be “forced” to have something they don’t want.
I’m pretty sure those pieces of two-player build I’ve found thanks to my radar wasn’t exactly happy when I destroyed them before their “other half” could find them. Something tells me their definition of fun does not include events such as this.
I’m not going to lie - I did this once too
The unbalanced part is some builds are made for one life (cannons). Some builds are made to eat people nonstop and excel when there isnt 6 people in a pack (triple blight draco).
Both build types are capable of playing and doing well in normal PvP. But one does eons better in a respawn gamemode.
Either way, i dont enjoy the game mode at all, win or lose, score high or score low. So i quit out and give my team a perfectly happy-to-contribute bot
I’m not seeing teams of bots in this mode at high PS on Xbox.
I do see a few guys drop out from time to time but it instantly fills that spot with another player. (You can watch the names change)
I’m not saying we don’t have bots on the teams sometimes, but there is always more players then bots and many times I have played it is full teams of players on both sides.
For the kills and the kill assists. I can earn more than eight kills or assists in Slaughter Mode. PVP is limited to 8 maybe even less with disconnects. I have plenty of Scrap. I desire Kills and Assists.
This is what angers me!
It clearly says I have 7/10 towards the next Assistant Patch. That is a minimum of 8 kills assists.
Yet look at the scoreboard.
One assist? For 1600+ points? Fix the friggin scoreboard already! I do not care if the assist comes within 15 seconds or 179 seconds, show it one the darn scoreboard!
