Easy Mode Builds

because we all want to pay real life money to get dog builds just to be able to counter them right?

Its so mindlessly easy to play a dog. Cloak, wait to see if they use verifier, then rush a specific red arrow on the map. You can cover the entire range of a whirlwind/scorp build in the duration of a single Chameleon MK2 and totally negate their distance advantage. Its so braindead. The TTK of a dog on everything else is what, 20s maximum? Meanwhile everything else in the game needs to pelt away at a target for a minute to kill it.
Its not like dogs builds are even vulnerable anymore anyways. If the meta strat of using epic wheels as armor is followed, its impossible to crack open a dog before it can kill a teammate unless they give you two volleys with a scorp at their ass. Even then they have so much spare mass for frames and armor losing a gen isn’t going to cripple them. Assuming that Scorp player has the accuracy to lob his shots just under the cab and frames without dunking any shots into the ground

dog & melee builds are braindead and there is no conceivable argument against that

Just make a lower PS one. Shouldn’t cost you any real money or even much grinding time. Remedies, Lacerators, Maulers, or even the special melee/flame weapons.

Since it’s the brick/dogs you’re having the most trouble with, you’ll want a heavy cabin. Hopefully you got the BP with the Yokozuna, but if you didn’t you could use a humpback or a saviour. Hopefully you got the current BP so that you already have a finwhale. If not, an oppressor or cheetah will be an old substitute.

Besides, as you said yourself, they are among the cheapest competitive builds.

You can always sell the parts later.

in fact i have multiple sorts of gravastar dog. it is utterly skillless. i obliterate almost anyone in my path, i effortlessly eat builds alive in clan wars if they look away for a second. of course that excludes heavy spiders since my builds are lightweight.

and once again, no, i will not be paying money just to get a pathetic build just to learn its weaknesses and to then sell it at a massive loss, not to mention i will never see my money again.

It’s up to you and how strongly you feel towards a particular build. In my case is cannons.
But how a build can be without a counter ( in this case, dogs), part of that issue is our fault by not trying to build something to fight it.
Not completely useless against the rest, as i said, being good against dogs was a side effect, of being good against cannons, i only noticed much later and by accident.
Better than a jack of all trades, master of none as you can a see a lot out there.
It’s impossible to build something to hard counter everything.

People dont care build dogs and play them because they are braindead and boring asf. We know how to counter them, but its so exhausting to be hyper vigilant in every game because a 10s lapse in attention means you get instakilled by a dog player who barely needs any sentience to kill a really good player. What about the average player who will only get relentlessly farmed by droolers? They are always going to exist, the 50th percentile will always exist no matter how good or bad everybody becomes. They quit the game or become another dog player.

once a massive spider build is actually capable of shaking off a fire brick and still loses then tell me about building something to specifically counter bricks. not that shaking it off would allow me to kill it in time, but it could be a nice first step

Crossout is a very contentious game now because gameplay like this is now less rewarded than playing a dog, hitscan, or cam steer if not totally impossible (this was b4 astraeus & omni nerfs)
No I have no CW footage younger than 4 years because I got sick of it and didnt want to sink years into fully fused god builds. I believe 9k is where the game lives if you want variety and a high skill ceiling simply because builds are still fast, builds need to budget their PS, and the TTK isnt over 30s.

It’s not that linear, it’s trial and error, discovering, adapting, refining the same design, experimenting with ideas, new ways to do things
But i can tell you this much it was the triple executioner spider that lead me where i was before this last nerf.
I could outlast avalanches, Mammoths with my heavy build and even Mastodons in a pinch

I could show you my journey but i’m afraid i would bore you with the highlights in screenshots but that’s all in the past now i have to restart from scratch. But probably what i see as the highest accomplish is manage to do a medium build with the same Armor layout ( same parts and all) of my heavy build, a mini brick that despite being my most recent PVP build, already went through

Overcharge changes
penetration changes
BFs buff
And now undergoing changes cause armour nerf

each time it got broken , each time i managed to bring it back as good as ever been, this build and a few others

Maybe, it will be a good time for you to start your counter brick build, see what you are fighting more often or trigger you the most and focus to the task in hand. This last couple of nerfs favour you.

After all, what have you got to lose, maybe you will like having a specialized build among the others you have.
It gives pretty good satisfaction, 1vs1( seeing your own build being hit over and over again with no effect and almost feeling the panic of the other build whatever movement part he’s using) I can tell you this much.

I just played multiple matches against a squad of players all running avalanche spiders. They stomped all over all the dogs that rushed them.

Anyways, it sounds now like you guys aren’t saying you can’t counter dogs, just that you think it’s unfair that you have to, because people that play close range builds are brain dead and have no skills.
Why are you playing a car combat game if you think ramming attacks shouldn’t be a viable strategy?

Totally not an issue of 4 man squads in solo random missions and targem removing voip early in open beta.

just to inform you not every one has either an avalanche spider or a team of people who would have an avalanche spider

in some (most) cases you physically cant counter dogs

didnt realise im playing Wheeled Missile Simulator

I feel like I’m trying to convince a group of toddlers to try a vegetable.

It’s difficult a lot of the counters require reducing offensive abilities by half right now. If they included more and balanced for it it might might not be a large of an issue.

They do make it really hard to pull out of melee and flame contact though, which just adds to the effect but I’ve mentioned this already.

no, you sound like a Targem marketer. Please read what you posted here and think about it for 5 seconds.

That’s the basic accusation when another player doesn’t agree. It’s kind of sad.

basic accusation when another player doesnt agree?
why dont you tell me then, do you agree you should burn real life money for a braindead build just to learn its weaknesses? that is the 5head plan of poony4u

Going back to that squad of Avalanche spider that were stomping on everyone yesterday: I’m pretty sure that some of them (or maybe all) were running the daze module. It is actually very good for repelling dog attacks! I think I’m going to start using mine again.

They also had their avalanches mounted relatively high, which allowed them to both hit people at a distance and also pound close range attackers.

The main reason they kept winning was that there were playing well together. No matter who you attacked, they always had a couple allies ready to defend them. That tactic can work with any collection of builds, assuming the players are competent.

Teamwork is the most OP tactic in Crossout.

Dude, I already made it clear that I am not suggesting spending real world money on a dog build to test the vulnerabilities.
If you are a serious CW player with Mastodons, how do you not already have most of the stuff you’d need? And as you said before, the remaining items are cheap on the market, so require no real world money.
And you don’t need to put together a high PS CW build to achieve this. A mid PS build will still help you learn their weaknesses. You shouldn’t need to pay real money to do that.

Is your inventory empty other than what you use for your two CW builds? Do you not have any resources or badges stockpiled?

I’ve never bought a pack, or premium, or a mini-BP. It’s very feasible to quickly grind out a dog build for free. You just need to actually play the game.
