That is literally why I do not play most FPS games… just had this discussion with one of my kids. “Dad, why don’t you play [insert random FPS clone]?”
Yawn.
As for the morals thing… I pretty much agree with @130898924 Poony.
I find things XO is mentioning to be annoying, lame, or really “uncool,” but not immoral.
If we’re going to talk immoral, we could discuss behavior on the forum and have a real fun time.
People simply cannot comprehend these things, they can’t see the morals and such; among our group we call them primitives.
I did that. Numerous times with fusion involved. And the devs nerfed me every single time using off meta items making easier and less rewarding gameplay more effective every single time. Your platitudes are meaniningless.
Lol, the is thick in this thread.

Chill out man.
Of course I know some people have very strong opinions about the morality of using certain strategies and/or items. I just don’t understand why they do.
It’s a game where a huge part of the goal is to try to find the best way of combining the various items to make the best build that you can. It makes no sense to me that some people will say “that particular combination is too good, so I’m going to look down on people who use it”.
Like I get the appeal of using non-dominant items, because that’s what I do. I just don’t understand complaining that other combos are better.
Do you really think I’m that dumb, or are you just being abrasive for fun?

Why do you care so much what other people are doing?
I don’t do the meta either, but you don’t see me complaining about people who do. Why would I? Nothing stopping me from playing meta builds if that pleased me.

more curious is ‘why don’t we have a bull icon’ why an ox?

The judgement is more of a scale… depending how much someone uses such things and if they use anything else… this coupled with their understanding of the morals of doing such things. So it varies.
Not dumb perhaps, even smart people can be blind to things. Not everyone can understand or have knowledge of everything to same level or perspective as others. Hard to judge these things sometimes.
Ok, but apply that logic to your own choices.
For you, the small fast cars give you an advantage, and as far as I can tell, that’s pretty much all you play, and all you’ve played for years.
There’s nothing wrong with that. You’re having fun, so why would you change it up? The guy who’s playing a DPS spaced hover is making their choice for the same reason: it works for them, and they enjoy it.
I mean personally I think everyone should make an effort to learn to play every movement part and every weapon, but I’m also smart enough to know that’s just my way of playing, and it would be ridiculous to expect others to feel the same.
Anyway, there’s no morals in war, and Crossout is a war game. Fight to the death, with whatever works for you.

I suppose it’s a standards thing. To strive to perform well but without the need to copy others or follow any sort of meta or easy-mode method/playstyle.
to me if you’re using the most effective methods, metas and playstyles then there’s no merit in performing well. I strive to push myself to perform just as well with methods that most wouldn’t dream of; pushing the limits of my skills instead of simply settling for being just another sheep in the meta farm.
I’ve always done this in games. In a racing game I’d try to outperform in a subpar vehicle, a shooter I’ll use the most absurd and sometimes downright awkward weapons just to style on people.
Crossout doesn’t have a real competitive setting so I see no reason to meta chase or try like that… I did that already back when I played things more competitively in R6 or Overwatch etc etc
I never tell people how to play, I just simply judge them for it… I’ll never change the mind or thought process of the many primitives and meta crutchers we have in this game; I’ll still voice my opinion about it though.
But there are
I would take advice from you. You are one of the people I actually try to support (when my yolo streak isnt active anyway) when on the same team . You have more than proven to be one of the better players. And one I do not feel bad admitting is more skilled than I.
(doesn’t mean I wouldn’t yolo randomly though!)

Thanks, dw I sometimes do some yolo-ing just to see if I can get out of a situation. Sometimes it’s fun to see what you can get away with right under the nose of the enemy team like this:
Risky? Of course. Worth it to cripple a hover right next to their entire team and get out alive? Of course

I was with you until you got to the judging part.
You’ve figured out a way to approach the game that works for you. The people you’re judging figured out a way that works for them. And if it weren’t for them, your approach would no longer be very original, and you also wouldn’t be handicapping yourself in the same way. I think you would get very bored very quick if everyone was like you.
Makes more sense to me to take pride in yourself, but not to have to look down on others in order to have that pride.

I’m sitting here wondering why I never see some of you guys in the game because I’m dense. Then, I noticed only 6 players in the video. Duh.
Different platforms.
As for morality & playing what you should & shouldn’t…
The only thing I find distasteful - not really even immoral - is people who do the seal-clubbing thing.
And, to clarify, I’m not talking about relics on a 9k build. I’m talking about the dudes taking a 6k dual porcs or scorps build into a battle with absolute noobs repeatedly. Anyone running those into a PVP against dudes they know they’ll vaporize in one shot are just the epitome of pathetic.
You may occasionally run into me on PC. I play both Xbox and PC. But mostly Xbox because its a mature account. vs the Pc.

I don’t care what others are doing unless they are playing drones or catalina hovers, then I hate them. My problem are these amateur developers who can’t balance shit right, and when they have it right they go ahead and screw it all up after countless players have spent real money to put together a build and potentially fuse it, only to become invalid in the meta after a single patch.
I complain because I can’t win. When I do win and put together some niche hard to play build that I crush lobbies with the devs nuke the shit out of me for their fotm. They just did this with Astraeus by giving them 55% pen and a 20% velocity nerf. 55% pen translates to about 30% less damage.

What does any of that have to do with the new legs?
Cause they are too good compared to Omnis.
