8 billion people on this rock, half of them are boys, a quarter of them are around their twenties.
thats still 1 billion tweens ready to play this crossout game if they had internet, lets say only 10% of those guys actually are playing this game, thats still a 100 miliion, lets say only 10% of them buy packs, thats 10 million packs costing about 10 dollars, making them 100 million everytime when people buy new packs, convert that currency to some 3rd world country, and im sure they can buy alot of martinis and “other” pleasures if they wanted to
Where do you get these demographics? Most industrialized nations do not have this demographic. Industrialized nations are the nations video games get played in the most.
To be clear, there are few countries in the world that have more young people than old people. This is a direct result of Industrialization and why the U.S. continues to accept many many immigrants per year.
Fair enough, but for a few minutes of work, I can buy a battle pass and skip large chunks of the grind.
It’s called a grind because it’s not fun… Well, not as fun as playing the game specifically for fun instead of a reward from grinding. Otherwise, they might call it “the party” staff of the grind.
Instead of grinding for thousands of hours, I’ll take a few minutes of work and actually truly fun play.
I’ve never understood why grinding is different from playing.
The only way to grind in Crossout is to play, so all you have to do is play and the grind progresses organically.
I guess if I wanted to grind faster I could do things I don’t enjoy (like raids), but I feel like I can grind fast enough just from playing PVP like I would of there were no grind.
When in order to fulfill challenges to advance the Battle Pass, I am given the task of killing 40 players with Cannons (for example), that’s a grind, I think. I’d rather just play at my own pace, under my own direction, rather than have the course of the game chosen for me and given chores to do.
Many of the events and brawls offer rewards that require completing challenges under conditions that feel masochistic, and are anything but fun. This game is notorious for that, and that can also feel like a grind.
In my case, I do actually have a backlog of cannon challenges for this battle pass that I will probably complete in Patrols, and I sort of dread it, and will have to drag my ass through it, and am not likely to enjoy any of it. It will be a grind. Or, I say screw it and this pass, and suffer the disadvantage of not having the same structure parts as my opponents.
It is already this way.
No one needs to do the challenges, those are put in to condition people to log in everyday and complete your chores.
Just don’t fall into that trap.
What? If you want to finish the Battle Pass you do need to complete challenges…from here to bloody October.
I suppose one could let his wallet do it for him and just buy the Elite Pass. P2W?
Just let the weapon challenges that you don’t like pile up, and then you can bang them all off at the same time in Patrol.
Do you never play cannons? Little Boys or Hulks are fun to play in low/mid PS, and Bat is now a mini Harpy if you want to keep your PS low. Just spam a lot of shots at bots in patrol and you’ll clear all those cannon challenges real quick.
But I see weapon challenges as a way of pushing me out of my comfort zone, which keeps the game fresh for me. You obviously feel differently.
I’m sorry, I was talking about daily and weekly challenges.
But for me it is the same for BPs. I just play the game and when the BP is over I have all the stuff.
I don’t worry about what the game wants me to do.
The dailies often really mess me up especially when I don’t have lots of extra time to play. If they got rid of those for a few more weeklies I’d be happy. i.e adjust it so that each week had 2 releases of weeklies per week. If they consistently do that with the mini passes on alternate days it probably wouldn’t affect their daily player counts that much. Half the time when I get bored on these longer ones is because I end up finishing all the weeklies in a day or two then sit around waiting looking at the slow progression.
Yesterday I logged into the game, I had 11min before the BP daily challenges we going to reset.
I was able to get 4 of the 5 sets of BP daily challenges done before it reset. If I had an extra 5min. I would have completed them all.
I think they put at least one item loved by veterans in every battlepass. For example: Founders 2: Parser and Destructor. Forgotten winter 2021 pass: Waltz. Syndicate 2022: Omamori. Hyperborea: Nothung, Sleipnir (I’m the only one who likes Sleipnir). Current Ravagers BP: Pegasus, Gerrida.
I think they try to give new players most of the stuff needed to make an efficient clan wars rig in every battlepass. I think that the developers make most of their money off the Clan wars crowd out whaling each other and I think that they are always looking for ways to add new players to that mix.
Maybe not so much. I just think it’s easy to understand how this game can become a grind. It tries to be, and the basic mechanics sort of revolve around an expected grind. Brawls and events are often more tedious than fun, and sometimes downright miserable experiences, but the player is lured into the trap by prizes, ego, envy, and the fear of being at a disadvantage on the playground.
Some of it’s real, some of it’s head-game, but the player is encouraged to participate in various grinds they might not otherwise pursue.
Not any more, no. Never…well, almost never. Since they nerfed cannon rotation speed, I don’t bother, but now the BP is asking that I take them up and go grind. I don’t want to.
I had a build prior to 2.0 that I did like with a couple Hulks, and I was, for the first time, enjoying cannons.
Like most of my builds it relied on speed to work, and I put a lot of effort into fusing the cannons for rotation speed, getting an Opressor, buying a Harpy, then they nerfed all that schit, and the wheels too.
Most of this game is a grind for me now, and there is very little left that I enjoy playing…Shotgun META?
I still play because I know the game changes, but I don’t have an endless inventory of Fused equipment to keep chasing it around with. Half the stuff in this game I have no interest in anyway, so it feels a bit grindy sometimes when I’m forced to play some trending META I don’t have the equipment for in order to compete.
This Battle Pass doesn’t help. It’s boring, and too long. The rewards are OK, but it’s fluffed up with so much useless crap that it’s a grind to get to anything interesting…or I could get the elite pass. That is their business model. Grind or Pay.
I don’t like 2.0, but I know it’s a work in progress. It just feels like they went through my entire inventory and nerfed every damn thing I had.
A suggestion: find a design for a weapon you haven’t played in a long time on the museum, one that looks good and has some abilities, then take it to pvp for a few games, you might find it fun as the ideas change with the experience
I think I like that term better than “Exhibition.” In the English version they call it the “Exhibition.” My whole world seems to revolve around pride these days, and I think it’s ugly.
I like “Museum” better. It’s less “Hey everybody, look at me.” I’m very sick of identity politics and selfishness (“do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law”), but the entire western world is hip deep into it, and doesn’t even see anything wrong with it…but whatever. I digress.
I was actually doing as you suggested, before I came back to the forum, so I accept your advice gladly. I think that’s a good idea.
That is the word his translator auto corrects it to.
He mentioned it the other day in a different post.
It’s not intentional.
I know.
On the previous Chinese server, it was called the “战车博物馆(Chariot Museum)”, so I used to refer to it as a museum before translating it
I think these BPs go at the speed the developers can create content. If Crossout had twice as many paying customers, they could afford to hire more people and the seasons wouldn’t take so long. They probably keep a BP up long after everyone has completed it because they always like to have some special event going as this is the way of modern games.
