Like I said, if you like hovers so much, play them!
Dude are you stupid… the problem is about how good things are… not to go well it’s too good, let everyone just play it.
It’s literally taking a problem and making it worse by more of it existing… no you shouldn’t force players into one thing just because it’s too powerful. you want everything to be balanced to each other so people can play whatever they want without feeling this 1 particular item just beats it…
The diagonal trick doesn’t allow Omni builds to switch directions between North and South while spinning 360’s going from 95, to 0, to 95 in the span of 2 seconds. Nothing can even come close to hovers at doing that. Not even the helicopters could change direction fast enough to mimic hover QE spam.
100km/h sounds great, but it doesnt make up for logarithmic acceleration curves that hovers dont have. Golden eagle’s 10 km/h perk is so weak compared to having the cheetah cloak recharge, colossus dura, or oppressor stats and gun turn speed. Imagine giving up one of those 3 benefits for an extra 10km/h that still won’t allow you to out hover a hover lmao. If you need Golden Eagle over Cheetah, Colossus, Oppressor, or another module ur coping so hard trying to be another movement part.
There is no such thing as controlling the terms of a fight against somebody more mobile and lethal than you that is playing to win. If a hover player knows you are trying to destroy them with a flank, you are not going to succeed in flanking them. You can only let them become overconfident and cripple them from cloak with a baited ambush.
I’m not saying hovers aren’t strong, but they’re only “unkillable” if they’re being driven by someone better than you. Lots of people are better than me, but I still manage to take out lots of hovers no matter what I’m playing.
I’m not a particularly competitive or skilled player. I am seriously wondering why you guys seem to have so much more trouble than me against hovers. You seem much more competitive, so it’s strange.
*my comments are just about PVP. I have no idea what’s going on in CW, and I don’t care.
That’s the problem… it ain’t people being better… it’s people bumping into every wall like idiots and these top 10 players just have these tanky hovers that have more useable tonnage per a kilo than even the tracks, or even legs do! what logic is that…
This whole thing isn’t about CW, this is about general PVP. How a simple tank build just has no chance against this mosquito type build, like try and effectively get to these builds and kill them, in the times the player knows what they are doing (which ain’t hard), you will not be able to kill them effectively without losing plenty of players
I think your problem is more with the “top ten players” than it is about hovers.
In PVP, any movement type can succeed. And the lower you go in PS, the less advantage hovers have.
Super skilled players will always wipe the floor with the rest of us. I don’t mind when I get killed by someone clearly better than me.
Not going to respond to most of your post, but to address the engine issue I think I should.
Why golden eagle?
Because if I’m fast enough, I don’t need a quicker cloak recharge, so why would I need a cheetah? And wheel durability isn’t really an issue these days, so why would I need colossus? And while I love oppressor for slow turning weapons, you don’t really need that on a strafing build. Besides, the oppressor perk works so much better on buggy wheels, I can’t imagine using it on other movement parts anymore.
Red Hot is the only other engine I would use on omniwheels, and that’s only in situations where I need the extra energy point.
I feel pretty confident that I’ve spent a lot more time playing omniwheels than you.
Like you either choosing to not read or you are trolling at this point
Again, not true as the same player on different builds, the hover just is that more effective
I’ve spent all of tonight playing around 11kPS, and most of my matches haven’t had more than two hovers per team. One hover per team was much more common than three hovers on a team.
If hovers are unkillable, why aren’t people playing them? Or do I just live in a different region than you?
Seriously, I spent at least four hours playing today, and ground builds were easily the majority of players.
I’m seeing the same… in PVP and PVE… I’m thinking they just aren’t working as well as they used to.
I don’t play hovers simply because I don’t enjoy them.
Maybe the fixes they initiated are actually working.
Your misunderstanding me, which may be my failure. I don’t deny things are out of whack. They are way out of balance. I say that’s not a problem. The problem is players’ attitudes thinking the parts should somehow all be equal or even viable. Why? They aren’t in the real world. They aren’t even close. Do research. Test drive stuff. Craft /buy what is good and stays good. Avoid what is perennially crappy or hard to use. Practice with your chosen weapon until you master it.
Most of the complaints sound to me like, “I like this turd and I’m angry my soft gooey turd isn’t as good a weapon as that guy’s broadsword.”
“Broadswords are OP! They need to nerf them!”
That idiot I posted about… He’s probably whining his $800 Thor/Heather/Drake build sucks while “newbs” are beating him with shotguns.
It was irrelevant. Why include it?
Taking your analogy… If every driver has access to all the same parts, then whining about parts is an issue. I get it that not all parts are equally accessible, but XO does a good job with powerscore balancing. I repeatedly bring up sledgehammers because EVERYONE can get them easily, and even a crappy player like me can be so successful with them that the matchmaker almost never puts me in equal powerscore matches when I use them.
Again… It’s not a skill issue. I have very little.
It’s attitude. I don’t think I ever said it was skill. It’s people not wanting to learn to get good at the challenging to use weapons and whining about their favorite toys not being competitive.
Clearly, those toys are competitive as evidenced by people being competitive with them. The difference isn’t skill… It’s that they people who get good with them don’t have a crybaby whiney attitude about it. They practice, learn the quirks, then decimate me in my silly little shotgun build.
The differences or unbalance between players when it comes to creativity and skills are many times greater than the differences or unbalance between XO parts. These kinds of discussions arise because it is the nature of people not to look for the solution / error in themselves when faced with problems, but to focus on external factors.
If a player spends their time and/or money to get a part, it should at least be rewarding, in one way or another. Otherwise the grind/donating in pointless, making the whole game pointless as well.
If we’re dividing the parts to good/bad, then what’s the point of having “bad” parts in the game? So devs can artificially change meta by nerfing/upgrading certain parts? Then I pity whoever considers that a good waste of their time.
I don’t think they do it intentionally. I truly believe they want everything they put in the game to be so awesome, we all want to spend real money to acquire it. They fail. If you go chasing something that’s a failure, that’s on you.
Let me give you a real world analogy.
Everyone knows what the Desert Eagle is, and everyone knows what the Colt 1911 is.
On paper, if you’re rushing into buying a pistol, you may think that massive fifty cal Desert Eagle is the one to get. It’s bigger, more powerful, and a lot flashier. The 1911, on the other hand, looks like a little beotch of a gun in comparison.
When Magnum Research released the Deagle, they no doubt thought it was an awesome weapon. You can find fanboys who have never used a pistol outside of a firing range (or who have never used one at all) who will tell you the Deagle is the one to get.
In reality, it’s a clown gun. It’s too heavy, too bulky, and kicks so hard you’ll never put a 2nd round in a live target unless the 1st round is a head shot. If you want to holster the thing, you need suspenders or it’ll pull your pants down. It’s just dumb. Sure… sure… it has its uses, and it can do serious damage, but it’s still a clown gun. It’s an amusement. It’s something to round out your gun collection if you’ve already gotten a 1911 and 22 other actually useful pistols.
Meanwhile, the 1911 was nearly perfect the day it was designed. It’s not too small, not too big… perfectly reliable. You can put rounds in a target over & over in a nice little pattern. It kicks, but not so hard you can’t follow up that headshot with two more to the heart before the dude you just killed hits the ground. Ammo is plentiful, cheap, varied and reliable. There’s a reason it has been in police and military use for over a century. Bonus… it’s affordable.
What’s the point of the Deagle or “bad” parts in the game? They’re failed products that people will still buy, so the devs still sell 'em. People are still dumb enough to still buy 'em. Caveat emptor… buyer beware.
The devs of the game and Magnum Research shouldn’t have to hold our hands and say “Okay, here’s a gun, but lemme tell ya, while it’s expensive and sexy, it sure does suck!” They especially shouldn’t be expected to do that when there are tons of videos and reviews all over the internet saying those exact things.
If you save up to buy a Desert Eagle… Good for you.
If you save up to buy a Ripper… Good for you.
Just don’t come here and complain about it, or I guarantee that if I see that complaint, I’m going to point and laugh.
Call it a life lesson, if you will.
This paradigm will be around your entire life…
Whether your looking for a spouse, a college to attend, a degree to persue, a car to buy, a cell phone, a nice pair of slacks, shoes for walking, or even a reliable conceal and carry hand gun. It’s on you to do your research and get what’s best FOR YOU.
For the last one on that list, I fully endorse the Ruger LCP series. So tiny you’ll forget you’re carrying it, big enough to hold for most people’s hands, and 380 is more than enough for those of us without manhood insecurities.
I will ask you to find the direct fix to kill things like these then:
Like it doesn’t matter what you bring, nothing can even come close to these things…
sorry m8, bit off topic, but in my opinion, any man who thinks he should own and carry a gun suffers from manhood insecurity.
I still do not understand what the goal was with the supercharged, they did change the hovers and stuff for the better, but at the same time screwed over all wheels so hard that the same imbalance of wheels sucking and other specific parts being op stayed the same, even with the changes
You are applying your tiny situation in life to a great big world. I carry a gun every where I go. I might run into a bear.
“I’m not saying hovers aren’t strong, but they’re only “unkillable” if they’re being driven by someone better than you.”
Say that to the fully fused relic omamori hovers mofos that are everywhere in tin. Lots of them can’t drive and shoot. But you only have so many legs, and unloading a full Kaiju volley on their guns hits for like 100 dmg between grilles and oma.
And even when you demolish them, they just run away degunned and play the timer or cap like the lamers they are U_U
PvP is whatever, nobody’s saying you can’t down a solo q hover who’s having tunnel vision issues. Badger specifically mentionned a hover that is playing to win, not that Vector hover dude who tries to melee a shotgunner you see here and there in PvP. 4 hovers playing to win won’t give you their butt, regardless of how poor their movement and aim are.
I leave off the Vectors. Boosters are better.
