Announcement

r/Crossout - The final battle against Lloyd and the Ravagers has already begun!

The epic finale of the confrontation between survivors and Lloyd — don’t miss your chance to once again stand against all odds and defeat the insidious adversary!

Attention! The mode will be available from January 9 to January 15 inclusive!

  • Operation “Blackout” is a PvP brawl where at first a small team of 2 “infected” players fights against a team of maximum 10 regular players.
  • The operation takes place on the map “Waderkvarn factory” created specifically for this mode.
  • The survivors start the battle on their own armoured vehicles. The first Ravager players and the “infected” players use the preset vehicles.
  • Ravager visors are their weak point. Destroying the visor will temporarily disable the machine.
  • Ravager vehicles are equipped with the “Argus” module, which will help them detect and destroy mines and other projectiles.
  • The goal of the survivors is to reach the final point of the location, completing all the tasks.
  • The Ravager team should prevent the second team from completing the tasks and “infect” as many players as possible by making direct contact with their vehicles.
  • After being “infected”, the survivor joins the opposite team. Now their goal is to infect their former teammates.
  • The reward for the battles of the mode is crackers.

Special challenges and rewards:

  • Day 1: destroy 4 enemies in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: “Paratrooper’s container”.
  • Day 2: complete 2 battles in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: 50 Engineer badges.
  • Day 3: earn 450 points in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: “Military reserve” container.
  • Day 4: destroy 2 enemies in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: “Gift container”.
  • Day 5: complete 2 battles in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: 50 Engineer badges.
  • Day 6: earn 800 points in the Operation “Blackout”. Reward: “Memories container”.
  • Day 7: earn 350 points in one battle in the Operation “Blackout”. Complete 2 times. Reward: “Logistician’s container”.
  • The epic finale of the confrontation between survivors and Lloyd — don’t miss your chance to once again stand against all odds and defeat the insidious adversary!

Cool airship. Much better than the one that was parked over my farm.

They need to let a few of those airships spawn in Adventure mode, doll up the weather and sky in there, add some interesting clutter and a static race track, tear down some invisible walls and let the mechs and copters in.

…oh ya, they need a twisted Ravager train that runs through that map too, in and out of those mysterious tunnels like some kind of bio-mechanical parasitic worm that infects and transforms the landscape into a Ravager hive teaming with hideous Ravager-Bots that serve a Ravager base on a death-star sized satellite that orbits the Earth broadcasting a mysterious signal that influences the weather and inspires magnetic storms and seasonal plagues of Ravagers to spawn across the Wasteland, threatening the last vestiges of humanity, unless they all join together and face this common external enemy…or something.

yay another poorly made “gamemode” instead of vital changes to the actual game

The random nature of the prizes sort of removes my motivation to participate in these kinds of events.

I thought, for example, that I read the description carefully on the Duck Crate before I crafted it, only to learn afterwards that the prize is random. Now I don’t want to open it, because I know how this has gone before.

The prizes here are random too, and so I don’t need that. I’m tired of that. I don’t know why I would set myself up for more of that.

I haven’t tried it yet. Maybe it’s fun in and of itself, but IDK. I really only like vanilla PVP, and I’m not interested in getting another fruitcake.

This is a replay of the same event last year. It was interesting in and of itself, with a cool, detailed map. If I remember, I only made it to the end once, but the fun of it for me was to stay behind as long as possible and kill the early ravagers, giving the other players a chance. Weapons that can do quick damage at short-to-medium ranges seem to be the best bet (although very short-ranged weapons like shotguns are dicey). I use three machine guns (Aspects) and a fairly compact, fast build, and it works for me. Minimal armor (just for looks) is all you need.

I’ve never seen this exact “race” before. In principal it appears to be a lot like Operation Radiance, but the map is different and so are the Ravagers. I’ve never seen this map before, anyway, but I tend to ignore brawls.

I played this once and I enjoyed it. My build was too slow, and some players are unbelievable assholes, but I can fix half of that. I’ll give it another whirl later.

I love the map. It’s a pity that this is all they will use it for and then it’ll be gone.

if you dont have a fast build and high dps youre destined to lose, i got to the end jump with a hover and couldnt even make it

Good to know. Thanks.

It doesn’t appear that I have to do very well to earn the rewards, and one more race (that’d make 2) ought to get me the first box. I’ll see how it goes after that…I would like those hubcaps, I think.

I’m pretty good on paints though, but they’d have to jump pretty high with that reward to move my needle. They aren’t bad paints, but they are likely to be redundant against my inventory.

My sportscar (built long before any ravager event) seems to excel at almost any brawl the devs throw at us nowadays. Not sure if they’re just not difficult or if I have the formula down (I’d like to believe the latter), but especially against these ravager builds dual joule and 120 kph seems to work very well.

Another thing I tested for these “run” gamemodes was a dual dove build with an arbiter for close-quarters combat. Really funny, and if they aren’t paying attention they die almost instantly.

Armor is not needed, they instakill you anyways and it just reduces acceleration.

So…I got the hubcaps  It was pretty easy.

I like the creepy winter ambiance. It feels a little goth. Obviously, I like the prize. I’m not that concerned with the bench and haven’t even checked it out yet…so, consider my gripe nerfed.

Thanks, devs. Love the hubcaps. Cool map. Creepy Ravagers. That’ll do. Merry Christmas. Ho-ho-ho.

If you’re new to the game, it’s probably even better, as far as the prizes and the difficulty level goes.

I uhhhhhhhhh… might have already done something like this… I posted about it in another topic, but still need the adapter for my camera to go into my PC. Stay tuned, trying not to reveal too much before it’s ready!!

i only want that crate that gives storage. hey free storage is a good thing for me.

i tried it and its the same crap as before. i was getting killed constantly by my team mates running into me and getting me stuck on their cars giving the ravagers an easy double kill.

i gotta say i love how the map looks. i just wish it would stay lol.

Sometimes the moron droners put turrets in the small doorways and pathways too, that is annoying af :unamused:

its not even that. people were running into me constantly. theres to many people in there and they all keep running into eachother. quite a few times someone ran into the side of me and didnt even bother stopping, they just stood there and looked at me like an idiot, then a ravager comes up and just casually walks into us.
on top of this if someone runs into me i cant get up to speed in time to get away from them. often times it just leads to me being killed because of my team mates. i have never EVER won in one of these events.

Did you get a chance to partake in the Steel Troopers brawl? It used the Adventure Mode map and was almost exactly as you describe here, minus the train and death star. Ravager bots and Ravager spiders were everywhere! If it comes back, I recommend you try it out.

That doesn’t sound familiar. It’s possible I took a sabbatical and missed it…but then I do sort of just ignore a lot of this game’s features. I’m trying to get better about that, and try different stuff (something besides PVP), but IDK. I just don’t get it, I guess.

OMG you’re whining about rewards and you got the hubcaps? I got a fricken sticker.

Obviously, I like the prize. I’m not that concerned with the bench and haven’t even checked it out yet…so, consider my gripe nerfed.

Ya. That’s exactly what’s happening there.

Congratulations.

Probably. I have a whole collection of them.

Some of the stickers are pretty cool, and I like unusual ones, and use them, but I don’t care for random rewards much because of the redundancies I usually end up with. And some of this stuff isn’t really my thing and I don’t want it.

Point is, I don’t feel inspired to pursue random rewards. I don’t like them. I usually end up at least mildly disappointed with them.

Here, I got very lucky it would seem. I only played two matches (didn’t even do very well), and the pay-off was exactly what I was hoping for. I’m not sure that vindicates the system, but I am grateful.

NOTE: Ya, I edited that previous post, as it seemed a bit too saucy, but you got to it quick. Your response may seem out of context for some readers.
