We don’t have to invent a new term.
There is only one META.
The rest of it is like you said “OP builds in Low/Mid PS” and in many cases these builds will try and mimic the META.

Think what you want, but that kind of rhetoric is overtly toxic. If I were new here, or new to the game, I’d probably ditch all of this.
It eeks of “if you don’t do what I do, you’re not as important.”
I KNOW that’s not what you meant, and I know you’ve defended the whole “do what you enjoy” mentality multiple times, but yeah… This sounds like, “do what you enjoy, but you’re kinda lame for doing it.”

Most effective at what? Beating up other 16k builds? Sure.
What if we define most effective as being able to harvest the most resources the fastest? Is a 16k META monster best for that?
Uhh… hell nah… that’s part of why I don’t like playing high PS builds. The matches take forever compared to lower PS matches. Part of that is because higher PS rigs take longer to destroy - even at the hands of other high PS rigs. Secondly, it always takes longer to get matches up there.
Meanwhile, at 7k, I get matches almost instantly except for the slowest times of the week. Then, the matches I get into take much less time. Sometimes, they’re over in under 2 minutes.
So, in the time it takes to run ONE match in my biggest heaviest nastiest build, I can run two or three at 7k.
In less time, I’m playing more matches, getting more resources, getting more of those silly patches I care nothing for, and knocking out more daily, weekly, & seasonal challenges than anyone in some fancy “META.”
From my perspective, playing anything above about 11 or 12k is just silly if you’re actually trying to accomplish anything other than playing with a bunch of ugly ass hover boxes.
Then, there’s the undeniable fact that you have a much wider variety of weapons, build styles and play styles at lower levels. The game is simply much more interesting… Not to say that a bunch of hover trash-mobiles hiding behind cover for the first 90 seconds in a match, then cautiously venturing out to peck at each other isn’t breathtakingly exciting. I mean, I’m sure it is to some.
Hate it all you want, but this just might be the META-est of META builds. This is what the ideal XO body looks like… This is peak performance…

And if we define META as the strongest & effective builds in the game, then it’s META Leviathans. Everything else is lesser… lower… lame.

Meta, Most Effective Tactic Available, is NOT confined to the top in Crossout. Its literally where you are, whats the best thing you could do?
If a soldier wakes up in an enemy jungle with no provisions except a knife, he can still attempt to try The Most Effective Tactic Available. He doesnt hace to have an M1A2 Abrahams to attempt META.
If you could only play this game at 5k PS, youd still have the ability to try to make the Most Effective Tactic Available.

I’m guessing it’s supposed to be “winning” or “being powerful” or something along those lines.
If they’re supposed to be “Most Effective” at gaining any sort of progress in the game, then a 16K hover monster is far from META. At a certain point, PS for weapons specifically, starts to drop off dramatically. Your best bang for your buck - so to speak - is in epic & specials where you can gain the most experience and resources per minute in the game… per match played.
It’s literally why I recoiled from relics. The payoff just isn’t there.
You’re working - playing - twice as much for the same rewards you could get faster & cheaper at lower tiers.
CW is obviously a completely different beast…

At some point, flint became META.
The point is wherever you find yourself, whats the best thing you can do?
Well, the question I kept asking and never got an answer for was basically, “What’s the best thing you can do?” That depends entirely on what you’re trying to do.
If you have that M1A1 Abrams & you’re trying to get groceries from the local market, a bicycle is more “META.”
I’ve long given up on trying to build the strongest rig in the game & then play against others doing the same. All that was TO ME was an ego-stroking saltfest. I didn’t have fun and got fewer rewards as my reward.
On the other hand, I want to know what’s the best build for progressing in the game… getting experience in each faction, gaining resources, etc… for that, 16k PVP is a joke. It’s literally worse than 5k. The only way a 16k build trumps them is in knocking out the weekly PVE hard raids, but then your build looks very different than a PVP build because bots are dumb.

META scrap and fuel grinding is 2499. Matches are capped at 3 minutes, and typically take 1 to 1 1/2 minutes every single time.

Ok, I wanted to let this discussion die but it continued while I was away.
Lets imagine XO is Magic the Gathering for a while. PS brackets would be formats. 4k PS is Standard, max PS is Type 1. Would you say there is no metagame in standard because not all cards are available to players?
